I am slightly addicted to ice cream. Or gelato. Or anything remotely creamy & sweet that comes from a cow. I guess that I was thinking about apfelstrudel and not dairy treats for our trip to Munich, but I just happened to spot Eiscafe Sarcletti in my guidebook when attempting to find somewhere to have a non-beer drink after dinner. So we did ice cream instead.
It's the best ice cream I've ever had in Europe. And 800 times better than the junk I had in Florence last year. A bazillon flavor (okay, maybe like 30, really) at less than a euro a scoop. We each had a scoop, devoured it ridiculously quickly and then walked back inside with guilty looks to purchase second cones. And then we went back the next day. Stracciatella, Vanilla, Mint Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, Campari, and some weird fruit flavor that we never figured out what it was. But it was just plain good. They do have fancy sundaes and bakery treats, but just get a scoop (or 3) and enjoy.
We did have a bit of trouble finding it, but only because there was a lot of scaffolding in the way when we came from from the Ubahn.
