EisLabor Bonn-Altstadt - Einmalig, Frisch & Lecker

Apparently, keeping store hours updated on google maps must be a luxury this business can’t afford. We arrived well within the “listed” closing time, only to be told without so much as an apology that those hours no longer apply. Silly us for trusting the information provided by the business itself. Sympathy or even the smallest acknowledgment of the inconvenience? Nowhere to be found. It seems the staff (and owner) are far too busy selling to actually care about the customers trying to visit. Good luck with the business.

Very good ice cream, and very environmentally friendly – after enjoying the ice cream, you can also enjoy the bowl and spoon!

The place interior design is a bit boring and so is the selection of ice cream flavors. For own production I would expect more unique flavors than the usual ones or at least something that would invite me to try... Still 5* because the taste is absolutely great (especially the joghurt flavor), the staff smiling and friendly serving ice in biodegradable cups. Payment by credit card no problem which is just fantastic...

Tasty ice cream! 👍👍 I tried Erdbeere and Joghurt. They are both great! Not too sweet. Full of people, might wait for a while, but worth it!

Quite a mixed experience. The 'Brombeere/blackberry' and 'Piña Colada' flavours were delicious. I recommend the 'Pina Colada' for a hot summer evening. But the 'black and white' flavour was terrible and I had to throw it, it was very salty!!?

Tiny ice cream parlour with really good self-made icecream with offer of only a few flavors, but it has become too expensive over time, and overcrowded, especially at the weekend. The owners meanwhile have opened two other ice cream parlours in Bonn, one in Bonn-Beuel and one directly in the city. In the other shops there is more space and the same offer of ice cream, but also overcrowded at the weekend. None of these places is cosy unfortunately.

On google maps it says open until 20.30h, but…. It is not. According to the staff or owner the information on google maps is not correct. We walked for nothing now… no apologies from the staff or owner.

A very surprising find in Bonn! EisLabor has a truly gourmet Ice Cream selection that is created daily from local ingredients. What surprised me the most is the consistency of all the things I tried. The ice cream is smooth and creamy with no crystals. For me the taste brought out many fond memories of summer. Most surprising was Yogurt Ice Cream - prepared from a locally sourced farm. Quite amazing and a must visit on hot days or days when you just want to round out your meal with a scoop of freshly made ice cream from unique ingredients.

If you ever visit Bonn in the summer, make sure you visit the EisLabor. From the city center you can get to this ice cream vendor in less than ten minutes and it really is worth it! EisLabor sells a selection of about ten different flavours of home-made ice-cream for 80 cents a scoop. And I have yet to find a single flavour I don't like. Every ice ream I've tasted here was a perfect hit. There is only one minor downer, that you have to bear in mind: The place does not have seats, so you can't sit down there.
