DO NOT BOOK! We booked through booking.com and arrived to find it is closed down and cant get a refund - the guy said to book next door in cash. Don’t waste your time. Has been left abandoned since covid

WORST EXPERIENCE IN INDONESIA EVER—RUN, DO NOT STAY HERE! I have never given a bad review in my life. Usually, I provide a balanced take, but in keeping with the title of this review, I am forced to be brutally honest. This place was awful. RUN! Do not take a chance on this place—literally pick anywhere else. We left after 30 minutes. That’s how bad it was. We immediately found another place nearby because there was no way we were spending a night in this nightmare. The photos online? Lies. The reality? Dark, moldy, and completely neglected. The entire property looked like it had been abandoned for years. The pool—if you could even call it that—was covered in a rotting tarp, filled with mold, debris, and completely unusable. The room? Terrifying. The sheer number of mosquitoes inside was beyond anything I have ever seen—an absolute infestation. And as if that wasn’t enough, the room was filthy, dust-covered, and clearly uncared for. Management? Completely useless. We were initially "apologized to" and promised a refund. But, of course, that was a lie. The owner became non-communicative, dodging messages for days before finally responding with some nonsense about how they couldn’t process the refund until the next month. That was the last we heard from them—no refund, no further replies, nothing. I strongly advise you to skip this place entirely. There are plenty of good options in the area—this is not one of them. Stay elsewhere. You’ve been warned.

I can imagine this was a really nice resort once upon a time. Unfortunately it's now a bit worse for wear and extremely lacking. Oggy (not sure if the correct spelling) was the only staff on site and was very helpful and kind. As for the room it was nice and private, and relatively quiet. Unfortunately there was no running water unless a noisy pump was turned on, then you had to wait for it to build a little pressure. Still though no water for the toilet and the shower didn't work in the afternoon. The floor boards were sketchy and had gaps between them and the walls. The outside looked nice but upon closer inspection was not so good. The pool was definitely unusable. Not a great stop, but not the worst either. A bit overpriced for it's current condition.

Such a lovely accomodation with amazing staff to match. We felt like we were at home with friends. The food was absolutely amazing and great value! The pool is stunning and the bungalows were clean and lovely. They also organise surf trips out to the local breaks and give you great local knowledge. Can’t thank Ekas Breaks enough for our time.

We stayed at Ekas Breaks in October 2024 and can really recommend it. Especially the service is beyond imagination. The new owner and staff fulfill every wish you possibly could have. Together with the cosy bungalows this is the best place to stay, if you want to visit pink beach.

This surf camp was recently taken over by new management and my experience was great. The service was outstanding and everyone went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable. The camp’s surf coaches were excellent and I definitely recommend it as a place to stay if you want to learn how to surf at Ekas.

We had an amazing experience here… the staff were so helpful… they are currently waiting for a renovation due to earthquake damages…however the price is lower due to this… great value for money and a very peaceful stay! Taufik is incredible person!
