EKHO Lake House

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at EKHO Lake house hotel, from the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome. The reception boy(Suresh) and the girl was especially kind, professional, and very helpful throughout our stay. Even though I don’t remember everyone’s names, all the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. A special mention to the boy at the restaurant as well, who provided excellent service and was very polite and attentive. The food was delicious, fresh, and of very high quality. We truly enjoyed every meal. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, creating a very relaxing atmosphere. The housekeeping and staff were very friendly, respectful, and always ready to help. Overall, the service was 100%, and the hospitality exceeded our expectations. Everything from the rooms, food, and staff friendliness was perfect. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, and great food. We would definitely love to stay here again!

Our stay at EKHO Lake House in Polonnaruwa was an absolute dream and by far the best hospitality experience we have ever had. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the breathtaking scenery; the hotel is perfectly positioned to offer serene, panoramic views of the lake that create an incredibly peaceful atmosphere. The rooms were clean, stylish, and comfortable, offering the perfect retreat with a view that is hard to beat. The service here is truly world-class, and I want to specially mention our server, Supun, and the Resident Manager, Nuwan. Their amazing hospitality, personal attention, and professionalism made us feel amazing throughout our stay. Nuwan’s leadership is clearly reflected in the high standards of the property, and Supun’s warmth and efficiency made every interaction a pleasure. The food was a major highlight of our trip, and we were consistently impressed because every single meal was outstanding. Whether it was the beautifully presented fresh fruit platters, the golden crispy waffles, or the rich, authentic flavors of the Sri Lankan curries served in traditional clay pots, the culinary team’s attention to detail was evident in every bite. Every plate was served like a work of art, and the flavors were always fresh, vibrant, and perfectly executed across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ultimately, our whole stay was perfect because of the amazing service delivered by all the staff. The collective effort, genuine warmth, and high level of care from the entire team made this an unforgettable experience. We cannot recommend this place enough!

Amazing night at EKHO Lake House. Beautiful location with a great vibe, and the sunset by the lake was really nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Dinner from the à la carte menu was delicious but a bit pricey. Breakfast options were quite limited with mainly an English breakfast.

The hotel has everything to be great but staff is not yet trained to deal with client.I had in this place the worst experience ever from the time I’ve arrived in the hotel.The receptionist was rude to me, we had to escalate the situation and then manager come to solve it but it totally messed our night with the reception misunderstanding.

We had a very pleasant stay at EKHO Lake House, Polonnaruwa. The hotel is calm, clean, and has a beautiful view. The rooms were comfortable and well kept, and the overall experience was relaxing. Suresh did a fantastic job and gave us excellent service. He was very friendly, helpful, and always attentive. He really made our stay special. We would definitely recommend this place and hope to visit again.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It was a pleasure to stay at the wonderful Echo Lake House, Polonnaruwa. The service was amazing, and although we travel worldwide, this experience was truly unforgettable. We were a group traveling from Canada and received a very warm welcome, starting with a delicious welcome drink and a relaxing massage. The hospitality from the very first moment was outstanding. The rooms were very clean and smelled great. The food was delicious, and wherever we went, we were greeted with smiles by the staff. Special thanks to the wonderful service staff, chef, and kitchen team for making our stay so memorable. Highly recommended!

Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommend! We had such a lovely experience at EKHO Lake House. The staff were incredible – warm, friendly, and always ready to help. Mr. Suresh especially took amazing care of me and my family and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent, truly 5-star quality. We also went on a canoe safari where we saw elephants, historical ruins, and Bird Island — a real highlight thanks to the wonderful local guides. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a stunning lake view that instantly puts you at ease. We came here after a very disappointing stay in Sigiriya, hoping to recover, and the team here helped us do exactly that. We’re leaving feeling relaxed, happy, and well rested. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable stay.

Stunning location over the lake and attractive reception area. The hotel is a bit dated and trying to punch above it's weight as luxury accomodation. Outside public areas are attractive but seating area outside rooms and furniture need cleaning. Restaurant food was nice, but nothing special and very expensive. The table cloth was dirty There is no bar, so no alcohol! Room was nicely appointed but the bed wasn't very comfortable - saggy mattress. There was no iron or ironing board. The most expensive accomodation we booked in Sri Lanka and a bit disappointing!
