Love the food and vibes! We will come back to El 58 no matter how far away if we come back to Barcelona in the future! Food is soooo nice, the best Sangria I’ve ever tested during this week(we tried at least 7 different restaurants) We came to El 58 just by accident, we found on google map, but it surprised us even though the restaurant is quite small and quiet when look from outside. The inside is so different! Love it!

Google
Great place, super variety of tapas that are unique and delicious. Atmosphere is cozy with lots of neat decorations and service was fast and friendly.

Google
Our favourite meal of our trip! All the dishes were delicious - top notch tapas. We ate till we were stuffed, but would love to try everything else. The wait staff were friendly, helpful and passionate in explaining the dishes on offer. Recommend.

Honestly, a bit weird. The fiid was pretty classy but the service freaked me out. Difficult to describe but if i had to I'd say 'edgy' . Good grub mind.

Google
Absolutely love El 58 and we go every time we go to Barcelona. Love the Carpaccio in particular. Had to queue outside and wait for a table, because it is a very popular restaurant with tourists and locals - but it is well worth the wait. The staff are friendly and helpful and the restaurant is in a really lovely part of Barcelona. Absolutely delicious!

The food was great but the portions were small compared to other places we ate. The decor is excellent, I just wish the service that we had matched the inclusive vibe that the place gives off. The staff serving us seemed almost annoyed that we were there. Maybe they were. I’m glad to class it as a wheelchair accessible but it is quite a squeeze to get into the dining space.

Google
What an amazing restaurant. The hummus, calamari and the steak was delicious. I tried a french wine that it was the best wine ever tasted! Thank you to the owner for an amazing customer service provided during my visit.

Google
Came here for the paella - it wasn’t on the menu when we sat down but all other dishes were 10/10. Highlight was the white wine, shrimp and mushroom risotto. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
Sad to say that this place was a big disappointment, service was below average , just a waiter and the owner tending to the restaurant, my food was dry and tasteless, sorry to say that it has been one of my worse culinary experiences in the 32 years I have been coming to Barcelona

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem. When you pass by it you wouldn't know it's a restaurant because the entrance is a bar. The menu is approachable with diversity in foods provided in multiple languages. The food is elevated without it being elitist. A must culinary experience during your time in Barcelona. Friendly service and eclectic decor makes you feel at home.

Yelp
Amazing hole in the wall place! So lucky we ran into El 58 when we were on the hunt for tapas during siesta. Definitely recommend for some authentic dishes and nice ambiance. The main part of the restaurant is further back (away from the street), so it doesn't feel touristy at all.

Yelp
This place has not changed a bit. Still delicious food, flavorful, and well worth the wait! Risotto is still my favorite!

Yelp
A friend and I visited El 58 on a weekday evening for dinner. We arrived just after 8pm. We didn't have a reservation and they were clearly busy, but they put our name down on the waiting list and we went to sit at the bar while we waited. After only a few minutes, we were seated at a cozy table for two against a wall. Instead of paper menus, El 58 uses cute chalkboards to show what's available for ordering. The chalkboards nicely compliment the vibe and ambiance of the restaurant, which is both chilled and more than a bit quirky at the same time :-) Tip: While El 58 is advertised as a "tapas" restaurant, many of the dishes served here are anything but small plates. Two of the dishes we ordered (the steak and the risotto) were served on huge plates, and could easily be construed as an entrée intended to be shared by two people. Service was friendly, welcoming, and completely on point. Our server suggested that we order no less than five or six dishes to share; everything is served "family style", and they bring each dish out when it's ready. Each and every dish featured unique flavors with lovely presentation and plating as well. While we couldn't finish everything, we left completely satisfied, with full bellies and smiles on our faces. Our smiles were grew a bit larger when we saw the check - the prices are so reasonable that I double-checked to make sure they had billed us for everything we'd order.

Yelp
Small local place that is one of our local go-to restaurants in the area. The menu is on one big chalk board. The staff are super friendly and really helpful navigating it. It is full of locals and a few tourists manage to get a table as well, but the old school restaurant charm of the back room really makes this place feel great. They don't take reservations, so try and get there early.

Yelp
Service is phenomenal, staff is personable and charming. They remembered our name on the second visit. Food is amazing, best tonight was the pork ribs! Great hummus and grilled bread as staples. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
The people are so nice and the menu a giant board is fun. Bring a crew casue you need to get about 5 things to test it out. We had items that were ok to awesome. The drinks are not to be missed and every cocktail was super.

Yelp
Busy little place that we discovered thanks to online ratings. We had to wait a few minutes, but well worth the effort. Staff does a good job of speaking English menu is translated too. The variety of Tapas dishes were well executed. Edgy, Spanish, continental fusion style. Well balanced and beautifully plated dishes. Eat here if you have an opportunity.

Yelp
Had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed everything. Seafood tapas, smoked beef, octopus, risotto, eggplant with honey. Staff was super friendly and spoke English. Loved the food and sangria.

Yelp
We were staying in Poblenou for a week and loved our experience at El 58! One of our hosts recommended the place, and at first we were disappointed that there was no outside seating, but were pleasantly surprised by the intimate atmosphere and attentive service. We are English-speakers and the servers were able to communicate with us very well. We ordered the patatas bravas (an outstanding hit among the group!), the calamari (good, but a little bit rubbery), the fried chicken with wasabi sauce (chicken was nothing to write home about, but the sauce was divine), and the salmon tartar (fairly decent, but wouldn't order again). We left satisfied as a group of 3 and were pleasantly surprised by the low price range. We loved our experience here, and will let everyone at home know to come here if they find themselves in the area!

Yelp
One of the best Tapas bars in Barcelona. Excellent service and good prices.

Yelp
A bit of a wait for a table, but not too bad. They didn't think they could fit me in before closing, so they served me at the bar, which was fine. Potato Bravas and risotto were both amazing. Bartender was nice.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place and it was one of my best meals. I ordered a couple of tapas and shared with a friend. There was a tomato and micro greens salad with seared tuna, hot coal octopus with potatoes, braised tuna belly, and a beef carpaccio. We also had your typical bread with tomato spread and a sangria. Just ask your server for their suggestions and the most popular dishes. Everything was really wonderful.

Yelp
I was fortunate enough to live in Barcelona for 5 months and while I was exploring all the tapas that Barcelona has to offer - El Tapas 58 is hands down the BEST tapas I have ever had. Everything you eat here will be fresh whether it's from the farm or ocean to your table. The obeisance is lively with a dash of romance. The service is phenomenal and the staff is educated on their nightly selections. It's worth the wait... grab a Copa de vino or Sangria and enjoy yourself!

Yelp
Our favorite meal in Spain (Catalonia & Andalucia). The Catalan bread with tomato was the best we tried in Spain. The Rissotto was excellent and a massive portion for the price. THE CARAMELIZED EGGPLANT WITH HONEY WAS LITERALLY TO DIE FOR. Still dreaming about it. Atmosphere was relaxed & quaint decor.

Yelp
Delicious and delicate. Try the salmon tartar! And patatas bravas! I can't wait to come back here!

Yelp
Great hole in the wall tapas spot with a really nice Spanish vibe. I had the pulpos dish with the papas and it was superb. Also, tried the Margret duck and it was delish! My wife went for the lomos médium and it was very good. The local red wine I had some great fruity flavors.
google avatar

Gene K.

Yelp
Had dinner here, service was spot on, eggplant and anchovies were good. Magret duck breasts were almost raw, didn't like that at all and it wasn't mentioned or written that it would be served that way. Had the ribs...came with bbq sauce, very American and fatty. Got the check, charged for something we didn't get.Not going back.

Yelp
I think I'm obligated to review this place since I ate there 4 of the 9 nights that i was in Barcelona. Go here! The servers are fun and hilarious, and the food is the best I had on my whole trip. Favorites, in order - duck magret, carpaccio, steak, eggplant, risotto. Honestly, everything we tried was good. Sangria was awesome. ...I'm hungry now.

Yelp
Best Patatas Bravas I had in Spain! Very delicious tapas. We also had salad and it was very tasty. Very good atmosphere inside and very friendly staff. A fair bit of a wait, but worth it for our last dinner in the city.

We went there - I am not the biggest tapas fan... We arrived in a Chilled atmosphere! cool, interested staff! A Waiter - very helpful! great, creative food Nice wines, affordable! from Starters -till Desserts just a nice, relaxed evening Thanx!!!

Yelp
The fried eggplant w honey and rosemary exemplifies this wonderful little hole-in-the-wall tapas restaurant: unassuming, absolutely delicious, and distinctive. The waiters are efficient and fun and make you feel at home (speak English colloquially too). A diverse menu that ranges from salmon tataki to duck liver. We will go again and again on this visit. It is the kind of discovery that makes us glad we are on a self-guided tour, so you can go in a spirit of adventure and be rewarded. And the Radeberger on tap is excellent of course.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to us by someone that visits Spain often for work. By far the best meal we had during our visit in Spain. It was so good we ate there 2 nights in a row. Delicious!!!!

Yelp
lovely tapas such as the grilled eggplant with honey rosemary -- great flavor combo, "58" octopus -- perfectly soft and with yummy potatoes, interesting "58" fideua with little pasta thin short noodles instead of rice, also galician steak with pimientos and potatoes, which was fine. sangria like suco.

Yelp
Wow this place was good! Fiancé found it on a whim looking for places in the neighborhood our hotel was in. I wasn't sure about it but sure glad i gave it a chance. Just the right mix of french and Spanish. We had beef carpaccio, seared duck liver, and eggplant. And wine. Can't wait to go back On next visit to Barcelona.

Yelp
We had a nice wine tasting here and the tapa pairings were out of this world delicious. Never did I think I'd lick my lips over eggplant! Everything was superb and the chef was friendly and informative. We sat outside, which was a lovely ambiance and the neighborhood is adorable.

Yelp
Came here before 6pm on a Friday evening and there was a good crowd and the place had a great energy with groups and dates and families eating and drinking.. (which is difficult to find in this area.. or maybe in Spain because normally everyone eats later) so we were happy to be amongst others who eat and drink at this time! The mushroom croquettes, fresh veggie and fruit salad, chicken skewers and cheese plate were all really really tasty! We enjoyed the service and we will be back to try more food and enjoy the atmosphere!

Yelp
A great tapas restaurant. Potatas bravas is very good. The tuna and asparagus tapas are good as well. A great find for the area. I would definitely come back again.

Yelp
The Sangria was fabulous, using a legit local red wine. The servers were so nice, though they didn't acknowledge us while we were waiting to be seated for a bit. Menu in both English and Spanish. Every dish was awesome, highly recommend the eggplant chips tapas.

Yelp

Yelp
Very nice easy going place in a beautiful pedestrian street, good for couples, friends or groups...delicious tapas and good prices.

Yelp
Really liked the tapas. You will find both typical and innovative new tapas here. We really liked the wrap and the salmon tataki - but the more typical bravas bohemicas and pollo marinado was very nice too. Modern decor and friendly service makes it a great lunch place.

Yelp
I had checked this place out prior to my trip to Barcelona after reading reviews and seeing photos, I felt this place should definitely be on my list of restaurants to try. First tricky part of going was that they are closed Sunday evening & Monday all day so Tuesday would be the only day we could make it. Found a Facebook page for them and saw they were open 1-11 and tried calling Tuesday for their operating hours and no answer at all. We were told from locals that it gets very busy towards 9 so we figured we would just go in around 730. As we arrived, there was nobody waiting and it appeared empty inside so we figured we were in luck. The following conversation occurred in Spanish but I am translating for those who don't speak Spanish. As we asked for a table for 2, we immediately were told "No, not tonight, come back tomorrow. There is a private party tonight." I said, what time does it start, we won't be here that long to which I was told "Like i said, not tonight, come back tomorrow." My friend and I looked very perplexed at how rude we were treated and said "we are leaving tomorrow, we heard this place is great, surely you can make time for us since it is empty right now." All they said was "no, just leave, we don't have time for you." At this point, I was just angry as I had never dealt with such rude people. We sat outside on a nearby bench looking for another place to eat nearby for about 20-30 minutes and saw no-one walk in there for this "private party." About 10 minutes later, a group of 4 individuals walk in and were taken care of right away. We then saw someone affiliated with the restaurant, maybe the manager, standing outside, looking at her watch, pacing back and forth, maybe expecting the "party" to cancel or searching for people to come in now but it seemed very odd. As we were getting ready to leave to go to a restaurant that was open, one of the servers came out and was shooting very dirty looks our way, for what reason, I have no idea. The manager kept giving dirty looks as well and figured, it was time to leave and never look back. I was later told by some trusted locals that they normally won't just seat a party of 2 since it won't bring in as much money as a larger party would and they are tired of serving people there who just hear about their place. Poor business ethics if you ask me. Maybe had we been dressed like "big spenders" they would have taken care of us but regardless, I wouldn't spend my money there if given another opportunity. Be forewarned if you are going as just a couple and you may experience the same thing I did. Don't waste your time here. Go to Artapas near the Diagonal Metro stop, quality service and their food is delicious.

Yelp

Michael L.

Yelp
Fantastic place! We've held company dinner here. The food is very good with reasonable price. Staff are very friendly.
