We absolutely loved our stay here! The superior balcony room has the most incredible view of the mountains, and the room itself was fantastic. The walk to the rooms is a walkway through a beautiful garden. ||Our absolute favorite part of our stay was exploring their organic onsite farm. The most breathtaking views and we also got to explore their coffee roasting spot and distillery. ||The breakfast was also so good - so fresh and healthy! Everyone was so kind and welcoming; Luis at the front desk was so accommodating! We wish we could stay longer 10/10!

My husband and I and our two adult daughters stayed here for a week in June. it was the perfect location to visit Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. Being at the train station was a HUGE bonus. There were often very long lines outside the train station to board the train and we were able to just walk right out of the door to board the train.|I was a bit worried that staying at the train station would mean that it was hard to sleep, but that was not the case for any of us. |It was also a short walk to the fantastic ruins, shops, ice cream, etc. |The hotel rooms are surrounded by fantastic gardens. The hotel also has its own organic farm and distillery and coffee roastery. Don’t neglect to book the Pachamanca lunch. It’s an incredible experience.|The beds are comfy, there is a little fridge in each room and the hotel provides filtered water, including two bottles in your room each day. |Having the restaurant on site is such a boon. The food is delicious. We ate dinner here all but one evening. The veggies are all fresh from their organic garden. |Breakfast was plentiful and filling. There was a Buffet with breads and cheeses, fruits, and you were able to order off of the menu, pancakes, eggs, etc..|The staff all go out of their way to be friendly and helpful and they were unfailingly polite.|They booked our tour to Machu Picchu and it was a huge load off, not having to choose a tour operator and guide.|We were very, very happy with our guide. His name was Salvador. He was able to tell us so many things about Machu Picchu and the history and the vegetation. We would definitely recommend him to anyone. He was a fantastic guide.|I can’t forget to mention Chaska. She is a curly haired doggy who lives at the hotel and was a little ray of sunshine to us every day.

During our trip to Peru, this was our favorite stay! The rooms are charming and you can sit on the balcony among the trees. It is also right next to the train station so you can hop on the train first thing in the morning for the short Incan trail hike. Highly recommend!

Our family of four had a fantastic time at El Albergue during our trip to Peru. Our two bedroom family suite worked perfectly for the four of us. We had two separate rooms and two full baths that shared the top floor of one of their buildings. The onsite restaurant was very good. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner without having to leave the property. Also, El Albergue is perfectly situated mere steps from the trains to Aguas Calientes to reach Machu Picchu. And what a fantastic place to stay. The grounds are lovely and unexpectedly beautiful and peaceful for being in such close proximity to the trains. Stephanie did a wonderful job of taking care of all the arrangements for our day trip to Machu Picchu. This took all the stress off of trying to coordinate out what time to book the train and bus and line up a guide. Our guide met us as soon as we stepped off of the train and took us directly to the bus to take us up to Machu Picchu. We highly recommend El Albergue if you are looking for a convenient and all around special place to stay in Ollantaytambo.

Very convenient location, to catch the train to Aguas Caliente and out of the hustle and bustle of the town. Despite the proximity to the railroad, our room was quiet as it overlooked the garden.|The room was cozy, clean, and well furnished. We particularly enjoyed the garden, orchard and distillery (the attendant is a very nice guy and extremely friendly!).|We took advantage of the restaurant, both for breakfast and lunch: very courteous and always smiling staff; we appreciated the offer of typical food, but especially the wide choice (not taken for granted) of light, vegetable-based and vegetarian options.|Everything lived up to our expectations and was definitely of a very good standard for the price paid.|A special mention for the staff who assisted me, with extreme care and kindness, in the preparation of my itinerary, managing and booking private car transfers to and from the airport, the purchase of train tickets to Aguas Calientes, as well as the private excursions to the Salineras, Moray and Maras, and Machu Pichu (choosing for us a truly outstanding guide!).

This hotel was amazing! The property was beautiful with a great garden and room. The breakfast was great as well! The service was top tier and Luis and Gregory at the reception desk were both amazing to us! They helped us with recommendations, and even made a special breakfast for us because our train for Machu Pichu left earlier than breakfast opened.

We stayed at the El Albergue Hotel in Ollantaytambo and absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is situated in such a fantastic location right next to the main train station. The rooms are so unique in a good way and the scenery & service is spectacular. The two nice gentleman at the front desk (Gregory & Luis) truly go above and beyond for the guests and are extremely good at their jobs. You will love this place!

The hotel is a collection of two-storey renovated buildings, alongside the key train station to Machu Picchu - literally alongside - so you can step straight onto the track platform! Some inevitable train noise, though you can minimise by asking for a room at the back of the property. The rooms are all different, spacious, and with some lovely antiques and period features. Had a drink and an excellent trout meal while watching the trains come in and out of the station. Though obviously highly convenient for the train, less close to the main town square and colonial cobblestoned streets - about a 15 min walk. Hot water can take a while to come through and can be intermittent.
