We loved staying here, it was a wonderful surprise! We loved Esther who owned it, and enjoyed having breakfast on the patio every morning. We'd buy food from the convenience store on the corner and the are good fish tacos across the street.

Best hacienda in town. Very central - the best restaurants are nearby available. Nice and clean rooms and very friendly employees. Big kitchen to cook your own stuff. There's even a honesty bar with the best available liquors where you can mix your own drinks. The big courtyard garden is beautiful with a lot of small details and full of exotic birds waking you up in the morning with bleeps.

I recently spent a month at Angel Azul and I have to say, it was an incredible month! I was able to be VERY productive working remotely. The WiFi is great, the courtyard is magical, and Esther is an awesome person. I loved it and highly recommend staying long term and using the Angel as a home base for Baja adventures. It’s definitely do-able if you work remotely. Trust me!

El Angel Azul I’ve quit writing these reviews for the most part, but feel that El Angel Azul warrants a special mention as one of those rare gems to be shared. As all hacienda style homes are, the Angel Azul is unassuming from the outside but holds a miniature Eden within. The central courtyard/garden will keep you entertained with local plants, birds and barking geckos as well as many comfortable lounging options. The rooms are all off of this courtyard as well as the honesty bar and kitchen, both of which are available for the guest’s use. The owner, Esther has made beach towels, coolers and umbrellas available for your beach experience and the Malecon (my favorite in Mexico) is within easy walking distance. As with any successful business the staff is what defines your experience. El Angel Azul's staff is no exception and you will be cared for like family. If you are an early riser, let Don José know and coffee will be waiting for you when you get up as he did for me. Be sure to take advantage of the information in the lobby as it is extensive and has great tips for enjoying La Paz and the surrounding areas. Fantastic place where you are surrounded by beauty and peace. Every corner, every detail is charming and relaxing. Esther is the perfect host, always available and so knowledgeable. The room are comfortable and quite, you can have the perfect night sleep. You are close to everything, it is very easy to get around. I love it!

This is a fantastic place to stay. The location is superb. The super clean art filled rooms and inner plantfilled courtyard are beautiful making it a stunning place to chill. You can bird watch from your hammock.There is a fully equipped kitchen, on site honesty bar and cool stores around. Drinking water is provided. Esther is a wonderful and knowledgeable host. Wow!

An enchanting place with a tranquil garden. It doesn't take long to walk to into town and El Angel is in a good position for bars and restaurants. Esther arranged snorkeling tours for us with a brilliant local company and had lots of recommendations for places to eat. The self-catering facilities are very good and there is a supermarket nearby. Would love to go back to La Paz someday and would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at El Angel Azul with my husband and 10 year old son November 22nd - 24th. It was an absolute delight and we look forward to our return trip in April! Esther was wonderful with pre-travel communication, flexible with our arrival time, gave excellent recommendations for everything from where to eat to where to find treasures on the beach. Our room was clean and comfortable, but it is the property that you will fall in love with. The courtyard and common spaces are so welcoming and fun to hang out! Very laid back and "authentic" Mexico. We had picnic lunches in the courtyard while playing chess and watching the parakeets. Enjoyed 3 wonderful nights and look forward to going back.
