El Arsenal: The Rum Box

We book and rhum and chocolate tasting and what can I say except that I LOVED this experience. From the gentleman who greeted us to our guide Sebastian, we had an amazing time!! Sebastian was extremely knowledgeable, friendly he gave us a lot of great advice on the city, and the rhum. We truly recommend going there it is very worth it

I decided to take advantage of an Airbnb experience for rum and chocolate tasting and this is where I ended up. I was solo this evening and didn't know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I was the only guest for the tasting! Diego was my host and what a wonderful experience it was. He was thorough in his knowledge and explanations of the history of all 8 rums tasted. They were paired with different chocolates , cheese , peppers to name a few. The tasting of each rum is roughly half a shot but there is a mixed drink or 2 thrown in there also,definitely enough to have you feeling buzzed depending on your level of drinking experience. (🫣) The stories of each rum were interesting, some inspired by love others by demons but each commanding their own respect . I would definitely recommend this for any rum enthusiast or beginner as it's a wealth of culture and history. Thank you Diego for an extraordinary experience. And the free hugs at the door are kinda cool too ❤️🤗

We were walking around, and popped in to The Rum Box for a drink. It did not disappoint! The staff was friendly, and the kitchen kept sending us small bites as we casually sat and drank. The whole place is warm and inviting, and their staff is amazing!

Wes hosted our group for a Rum tasting, and we had a genuinely good time! We were in a private room with a nice ambiance and music. We tasted a total of 10 rums, I think, which were paired with different snacks and chocolates. Wes was very knowledgeable about Rum and just very personable overall, we felt like we were hanging out with a friend. We each had a turn to help make a drink with one of the rums which was fun and interactive. Though we tried a lot of different rums, I felt fine afterwards though others in the group were a little tipsy! lol He also gave us recommendations for things to do during our trip.

I went to El Arsenal at the end of Luis's shift, just wanted to sample some runs, he recommended a few, which we tried and loved. Then Kevin and Sky(Cielo) came. Both were so awesome and amazing, Sky recommended a bunch of Colombian runs which we tried all, Sky, Kevin & Luis were great. It helped Sky spoke the best English of all 3, but great team all round. If I had more time in Cartengena I would come here all the time, if you love rums, I never knew Colombia had such Variety of amazing rums. The staff wont disappoint as well. Love this place. FYI we tried 13 different rums and 2 really amazing cocktails

My friend and I did the Rum and Chocolate tasting on a Sunday morning at 10am. Let me just say to whomever owns this business: our host, Alejandra was amazing! She was very informative, fun, and made the experience unique and interesting with a great personality! All of the rum tastings, food pairings, and information were interesting to learn about and appreciate the cultural significance connecting Rum and Colombia. Couldn't ask for a better experience or a better host with Alejandra!

Wonderful experience here! Had no idea before that rum could be so delicious! Our server Luis paired them with chocolates and the combo was heavenly! Luis himself was excellent. He was very courteous and made us feel very welcome. The rum tasting certainly added a nice flavor to our Cartagena tour and I recommend a visit to this place if you are visiting the city.
