El Aserrín

Visited for a short drink the day before independence day. Lots of unique drink choices to choose from, huge variety of tequila. My fav was the mezcal mule

If you’re wanting cheap beer, great service and a fun night, el aserrin is the place to go

It’s hard to find a dive bar in CDMX but this comes close. They have karaoke on Saturdays, the staff and patrons are super friendly and approached me to talk, and even bought me shots. I immediately felt like family despite being a gringo haha

Coming from NYC, I have a soft spot for dive bars—but finding anything that truly feels like a dive in CDMX can be a challenge. This bar, however, might just be the city’s best-kept secret. It delivers dive bar vibes without the pretentious attitude. You’ll find a mix of locals and expats here, all simply enjoying life. The service? Friendly and downright excellent. The drink selection is impressive, and the prices stay true to the dive bar spirit—reasonable and unpretentious. Whether you’re looking to kick back with friends, unwind solo, or escape the flashy chaos of Mexico City, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Fresh pulque and delicious tacos.

Had a great time at El Assirin. Paula was a great bartender and gave us a taste of pulque as well as so much information about its origins. The mezcal cocktails were inventive, delicious and made with ❤️. I am a lover of dive bars and this one ticked all the boxes in the best way: friendly, no pretense, lots of personality. I will be back on my next visit to CDMX.

Great place! Prices are okay and the drinks are delicious. If you are near and want a relaxing place to go to, this is it.

El Aserrín - Just Okay Stopped by El Aserrín for a quick drink. The place has a cool vibe, but the service was just okay. The bartender seemed tired or maybe just over it--definitely not in the mood for small talk. Drinks were decent, but nothing memorable. It's an okay spot if you're nearby, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

This place was awesome, I don't understand the low reviews. Awesome pulque, friendly and helpful staff, old music videos on the screen. This reminded me of the kind of dive bars we look for up north.

The most divvy bar I've been too in DF. Super punk super hip. No draft beer only 40's it's kinda weird you order a 40 and pour it in a glass kinda like wine. The beer selection isn't huge but it has most of Mexicos best. My recommendation get the frozen Michelada it's the craziest thing you will ever have in DF.

In a city full of friendly and welcoming people, this place was top notch. Great service, great conversations with staff and a pretty decent liquor menu. The vibe of the bar was more enjoyable than plenty of "hip" bars we've been to in Brooklyn, NOLA and elsewhere. It's small. It's a dive. It's humble. Give it a shot.

Pulques were more like milkshakes. The fruit flavored ones were drinkable but had no distinctive flavor of pulque. So we had a natural (plain) one too and it was really bland and watered down. Pulque for people who don't like pulque? Had some mezcal too and it was nice, if overpriced. Music was a mix of bad dance from a couple years ago and worse dance from many years ago. And too loud to have a conversation inside.

Awesome place. Super cheap great food and really nice alternative juice mezcal cocktails. We had zipol and it was fantastic.

Cool dive bar, definitely worth a visit. Great vibes. Carlos treated us very well. We will be back next time we are in DF. Maybe next time, we will be back on a Friday or Saturday night when it is supposed to turn up!
