El Batán is hands down one of the best culinary experiences we had in Peru. The menu is a beautiful mix of traditional Amazonian and Andean flavors, reimagined with creativity and finesse.
We tried the tasting menu and every dish was a surprise — full of color, texture, and unique local ingredients. The presentation is worthy of a fine dining restaurant, but the atmosphere remains warm and authentic. The service was excellent too: friendly, attentive, and happy to explain each dish.
If you want to taste the real spirit of Chachapoyas with a modern twist, don’t miss El Batán del Tayta. It’s more than just food — it’s a full cultural and gastronomic experience.
