Charming boutique hotel in the heart of the historical district. Both the room and the public areas were lovely. And thank you for that powerful air conditioning! A nice gem at a great price. And that’s all I’ve got, but they’re asking for more.

Location: Great, Service: Lacking The hotel’s location in the heart of La Zona Colonial is fantastic—perfect for exploring all the local landmarks. However, my stay was marred by a few issues with the service and overall cleanliness. I had initially planned to stay for two nights but changed it to one. I let the hotel know in advance that I would be arriving in the morning and asked about the possibility of an early check-in. They confirmed it would be fine. But when I arrived, I was told that check-in was strictly at 3 PM, and that the hotel had been fully booked the night before. This was not the case, as I knew my room had been unoccupied. It seemed like a simple miscommunication, but it led to unnecessary delays. We had to leave our bags at the hotel and wander around for four hours before getting into our room. When we finally did get to the room, it was just okay. The A/C unit looked outdated and had a moldy appearance, which was concerning. The room itself was actually quite charming, but unfortunately, it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. The floors hadn’t been swept or mopped, which made the long wait seem even more frustrating. While the room smelled pleasant, it was later clear that the fragrance came from an oil lamp in the corner, not because the room had been properly cleaned. On top of that, the bed sheets had visible stains. The price and location make this hotel a good deal, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t return. It’s disappointing to feel misled, especially after expecting a more seamless stay.

Very cute and quaint hotel, cozy and relaxing spot. The vintage of the decor and the different antique paintings and artifacts brings you back. The old structure and exposed brick bring you back to the colonial age. The greenery from the plants and nature is a nice contrast to the exposed brick. The staff were very nice and very helpful. The only thing is that it doesn't have elevator, it doesn't have phones in the room, they have exposed wires inside the room, and the floors were not even with exposed tiles and bricks on the floor. The building it is an old vintage antique building, so overall it was a nice place.

Staying at El Beaterio feels like sleeping in a living museum—full of charm and history. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and the location couldn't be better. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Santo Domingo!

The building is historical, well-furnished, and the room gives the feeling of a medieval bedchamber. It was well-located to all of the historic district's sites. The breakfast was pretty good with made-to-order eggs. The shower was completely unsatisfactory without adequate pressure. The biggest gripe we had was that we came back after a full day out, only to find that our door had been unlocked and open (we assume after cleaning). As the rooms share a common courtyard, it made us uneasy that anyone could have walked in. There is no key to the front door; you must ring for them to let you in.

This is a museum hotel. El Beateria for “lost” women, first in its kind in the new world. The roads and Duarte park were closed for renovation. Breakfast was self service and pleasant. Plenty of hot water. Nice place

Charming hotel in the historic district with nice breakfast and coffee each morning on a beautiful shady patio. The passion fruit juice was delicious. The rooms were comfortable and cool. Great location walking distance to so much to see in the colonial city. The people were so friendly and accommodating. Would highly recommend.

What a lovely little gem! The hotel was located in the heart of the Zona Colonial and it was close to everything. Staff was super friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed was amazing, one of the most comfortable I had the chance to sleep in. Staff was always ready to give me information and to check things. The place is gorgeous and you can choose to have your breakfast on the inside patio. Breakfast is simple, but delicious.
