The food was great, unexpected but the taste was good and the food was our quick too. They also have a Spicier salsa that you should definitely ask for. I mixed the two and they went great. The salads Verde(green sauce) used on the enchiladas was a tad bit salty and tangy for my taste but I don't like food with too much salt and tartness and it's a me problem not a food problem. 100% reccomend.

Google
I walked in thinking the place was called "El Burrito Loco", (I'm not even sure that makes any sense) 🤔, so I was surprised they had such an extensive menu. I had an Avocado Salad with chicken, and it was delicious. I love the wall art: there's so much more to see than what I posted .

Google
Cute place but the waiter we had did not take our order correctly and didn’t even write the order down. Very nonchalant about when we brought up that the order was wrong. Food wasn’t seasoned either , highly don’t recommend

A disappointing return to a once-family favorite spot! The last I visited this restaurant was back in summer of 2022. After seeing the recent renovations, which admittedly look great, we were looking forward to a good experience. Unfortunately, our visit left us disappointed on several fronts! The bean dip was mostly liquid with barely and trace of actual beans (even after scraping the dish). I decided to try their burrito for the first time and ordered a burrito with veggies, rice, sauce and the works. What arrived, wasn't a traditional burrito. Instead of being wrapped with veggies, rice and sauce; the tortilla was laid over large chunks of cauliflower, broccoli and carrot. This wasn't mentioned on their menu. I politely asked the male server about this (we were being served by a male and a female) and I was met with hostility. He pointed out that he had seen me eat the rice that was served on the side and suggested that I was looking to trick them. I lost my appetite! We were considering on bringing a group of 30 people for a meal. Now, I will be advising my friends, family and acquaintances to look elsewhere. Great ambiance doesn't make up for up for poor customer service and a lack of transparency in the menu! While I understand and respect that not everyone maybe fluent in English, there is a language barrier that made communication difficult with the female server.

Excellent Fajitas! Also had a Chimichanga both large hot and taste amazing! Would highly recommend. And reasonable prices.

Saw this place on the news and decided to make a trip. Free parking on Saturday was nice. The area has lots of shops and places to eat. We went with some friends for the first time. The entrance is a perfect photo opp as there is lots of artistry around it. You walk up about 10 steps to the front entrance and there is patio seating. There is a small bar area where u can eat as well. Lots of inside seating is available, but if it's nice I would prefer the outside air. We ordered a 70oz watermelon margarita and a strawberry one. Let me say there is not much strawberry in there. It's full of tequila which is great if u like ur drinks strong. Food was hot and came quickly. Large portions and friendly service. Would definitely recommend and go back again. They gave the kids a balloon which they loved...we did too. Also it's pet friendly.

Google
Well 10 years ago this was one of the best places we had in St Louis, so we returned recently and holy smoke has it gone down hill! Overpriced food, the “Fajita chicken” is boiled chicken with absolutely no seasoning. $5 for a tea that tasted spoiled, we will never return to this restaurant. Me nor my wife really ate our food thinking we would be sick. $50 bye bye….

Google
This place was a unique experience. The restaurant was pretty cool the way it is elevated above sidewalk level to gain a different perspective while dining. The Pollo Con Camaron , the Flautas w/ chicken in them & the Esquites all were very good , served steaming hot. The waiter who served us was good , polite & attentive . They dishes were served up in a prompt amount of time. Only bad thing was finding parking...

Yelp
This restaurant has quietly became my go to place to drink at in Saint Louis. With the different flavors of margaritas that are available you have plenty of choices to find one that suits you. The food is kind of blah, but then again this is coming from a person that lives in south Texas so I'm biased but price wise everything is pretty fair. The service can sometimes be hit or miss depending on when you go

Megan C.

Yelp
Food was very average and overpriced. $5 for a soda and no free refills is crazy! Also the bathrooms were DISGUSTING. Will not be coming back.

Olivia N.

Yelp
came to el burro loco on tuesday evening. it was surprisingly pretty busy! we told our waiter we needed a minute and he didn't come back for a long time. although i was just there for the margs and chips my friend got a burrito fajita i would say definitely make sure you clarify want size marg you want because they brought me a jumbo one... i would say the ambiance was nice! my friend and i sat on their patio and it was the perfect evening for it! i loved the decor and murals on the wall.

Yelp
I really want to give a higher rating but here are my thoughts. Food was absolutely delicious. Chips and salsa were good but nothing special. Service was average ( restaurant wasn't busy and it wasn't the fastest service). My biggest reason for 3 stars is the margarita. I love a good margarita as much as the next person, out this one was not good AT ALL. Like 0/5 good. It tastes like straight tequila. I can handle a stronger margarita don't get me wrong, but this tasted like straight tequila and I wasn't able to drink it. Mind you, a pitcher is $35 which is a little crazy to me. I had to take it home to try to make it taste better with simple syrup and strawberry puree but it was just too strong. I think the restaurant is super cute and food is great, but don't recommend the margaritas and service is average.

Christie C.

Yelp
The food was ok. I enjoyed the chips and salsa most of all. The ground beef and beans had very little flavor. The restaurant has a fun decor theme overall and large windows for viewing outside. However, it was quite dirty. There was what I hope was beans smeared on the wall next to me and the tables were sticky. The staff rushed me out even though there were plenty of empty tables.

Cole E.

Yelp
Good food in a nice unique environment. Friendly staff. Been many times and it never disappoints.

Nikki R.

Yelp
The space is cool but could use a tad bit of upkeep. The food was good but not as many veggie options as I would like. The service was great tho and it was more about the company for me than anything else.

Yelp
OMG!!!!! Fablouso!!! New to StL. First time here. Love this authentic Mexican restaurant! We travel Mexico all the time. El Burro Loco is authentic! The real deal in the heart of the Central West End in St Louis. The chimichanga, chili relleno and enchiladas are amazing! We will be back. This restaurant is incredible. We recommend it to everyone! AND ... the Margaritas are incredible. Augh!

Armond W.

Yelp
The atmosphere is amazing. I've eaten here on multiple occasions and have always been a fan of this place. The last time I went I got a burrito fajita with a strawberry margarita. It's some of the best Mexican food I've had in a while. The service was good too. I'm always impressed when a waiter or waitress doesn't need to write down my order.

Angela C.

Yelp
Overall I would say it's just ok. The food was a little bland and since I have a lettuce sensitivity I asked for none on my plate but revived a few pieces still on my plate. The lunch menu is reasonably priced however and their drinks are really tasty. I've been here in the past and the place is cute but this time it seemed a little dirtier than usual. The service was fine nothing above and beyond.

Sarah E.

Yelp
Food came out pretty fast the last time I came here and it's usually pretty good. The drinks were strong and I say that as a good thing. The staff is always very friendly and the restaurant is super cute.

Ro W.

Yelp
It took a few minutes for someone to help us. We were eventually seated, ordered our food, and it felt like we were being rushed. We sat outside. They weren't super busy. I wasn't a fan of the food. I had to force myself to eat. The margarita was good but tasted like juice. No signs of alcohol at all..

Marco R.

Yelp
Went to the burro loco for the first time and was very impressed. Drinks were huge and very boozy. Overall the food was delicious and were great portion sizes. we sat outside on a bautiful day and the ambiance was great. Our waitress was super attentive to us and our food came out in no joke less than 10 minutes - and it was a saturday night. Will be going back!

Tania A.

Yelp
This place is good for late night bites. We came in for a super quick bite after a Blues Game when most places are closed for dining. Salsa was really tasty actually. My son ordered the Taco Mexicano Combo. He said it was just okay! We were seated all the way in the back past the bar. It was somewhat noisy, a bit dirty and under construction. When we exited we saw there was another section on the other side that was more open and comfortable. Maybe next time....

Shalaunte W.

Yelp
El burro is a great restaurant. Well worth the wait . I really enjoyed the decor and lighting of the entire place. So much on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Very detailed and thought out. Our waitress was very upbeat vibrant and available. Repeatedly checked in and smile the entire time. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the fajita skillet and a margarita pitcher. That margarita is the real deal and will put you on your back literally. Best margarita ever I can say after I woke up. I will definitely be back!

Jessica C.

Yelp
This is my go to Mexican restaurant in STL. Their food is pretty average Mexican food, but the vibes and margaritas are alwayssss A+! I always gets the tropical chicken fajitas and they are delicious. The chips and salsa and queso are also good. The margaritas are the best. Definitely a great place to grab margaritas or to pregame!

Michelle S.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place, but when you have a headache leaving a restaurant, it's just not possible. It is old and dirty, the food is okay, but it is so loud that you can't hear the person next to you talking. Not worth it- better options on this street.

Darnell S.

Yelp
Been to the one downtown a countless amount of time just for the margarita but here for some reason they do it better never have I been taken out by one in my life until that day lol the food was decent lunch portions so we really didn't eat much but the flavors were there. I'm a big fan of the other locations chimichanga so next time I'm in the area im going to eat which is better might just have found my new favorite el borro location. Plus on top of all that our waiter HENRY was awesome was ever attentive and accommodating. We sat in the patio since it was such a beautiful day out and couldn't have picked a better spot to have lunch.

Nolmin S.

Yelp
Overpriced and you rarely see Hispanic in there which give you a sense of how bad the food. Sincerely

Christy C.

Yelp
The Pollo Con Arroz is the ONLY meal that I can seem order whenever I visit this restaurant, I can't seem to get enough of it, it's the best hands down, along with the banana margarita that I ordered. The service is always amazing. I've always been seated promptly no matter how crowded the restaurant is, and before you can even sit down, the server comes with the chips and salsa, which are nice and warm and fresh. The restaurant has both inside and outside seating for sitting outside to enjoy the nice weather and it's located in the Central West End so if you are lucky enough to get a window seat just know that you'll be thoroughly entertained from all of the people walking to and from nearby venues

Ashley B.

Yelp
First off, the restaurant is beautiful! I would love to try more of their food, but from what I've had so far it's been exceptional. The monster margaritas are actually monster sized and so good!

Aliyah T.

Yelp
Food is trash. Margs are average. Waiters are rude. This place is definitely overhyped

Sammy M.

Yelp
El Burro Loco serves delicious Mexican food with great service. Highly recommend! The employees strive to satisfy the needs of their valued guests.

Joan G.

Yelp
Even though it was a warm evening, we sat outside to catch the breeze. After ordering margaritas we studied the menu. I knew what I wanted. Their ground beef tacos which I love because they are served on corn taco shells. Delicious as usual. Would I come back here? Yes, if you see me there stop by and say hello.

Jen W.

Yelp
A fun little spot in the central West End. They were super busy when we arrived, but still got us a table quickly. The food came fast. The shrimp tacos were well seasoned. The vegetable tacos were a disappointment. They were boiled vegetables without much flavor.

diana h.

Yelp
There is tons of space indoor and some outdoor, and parking is on the street. The interior is decorated pretty extensively and puts out a fun vibe. We started with the house margaritas on the rocks, which were a bit too sweet for my liking. The next ones we had were pineapple jalapeño, and that hit just right. I have previously had the taco salad twice, and both times it consisted of quite predominantly lettuce and very little toppings. I felt like I had ordered a half head of lettuce. This time I went with the grande burrito, and it slaps. I would definitely get this again next time I'm in. Service was pretty good, especially since we had a very large party.

Moni D.

Yelp
We went for the first time tonight. We enjoyed El Burro Loco. The server was attentive, the food was delicious I had a chicken fajita , my husband a burrito. It's a fun place. We will definitely go back again. We only had beers but saw slot of amazing looking drinks go by.

Harsh C.

Yelp
Great place for happy hour drinks! They have deals everyday and the margs are pretty good just not too strong. They also give chips and salsa! Check it out!

Dan P.

Yelp
Great service, and good food. I felt the tacos I had were a little dry, even with salsa, onion or lemon on top. But it did taste good. And the drinks were delicious too.

Meechie P.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for 10 mins nobody came to greet me and when I was getting up to leave that's when they acknowledged me. Won't be back in that hole in the wall. Restaurant needs to be cleaned.

Grace P.

Yelp
Big restaurant, sat quickly, but the service was poor. Ate our entire meal before the server remembered to bring the beer we ordered. Food was good, however. Seems like a place to go when you want to drink and also maybe have food on the side, if you can get service

Stephanie W.

Yelp
Flat out AWFUL The food was disgusting, the service was extremely slow, the atmosphere- rediculous- they were doing construction right by our table while we were eating! Drilling into the walls and dust was flying everywhere. This place should be reported to the board of health for all of it. So disappointed

Deyna J.

Yelp
Nice, colorful decor. We sat outside. Free chips and salsa are very good not the best in Saint Louis but I have no complaints. Food was good. The taco salad was different with cauliflower and broccoli but I liked it. Their beans are very good, seasoned well and a little spicy. Boyfriend enjoyed his shrimp dish. Margarita was tasty and presented in a fun glass. The main issue is the service. Waitress was not very attentive. After we were done eating we waited a good while for her to return so we could pay. Not huge issue, they were busy but she had come outside to check on another table and never looked our way. Although the food and drinks were good, there are better Mexican options in St. Louis.

Michelle A.

Yelp
This place is very good, the service was good, I love the theme and design of the place.. If we are back in this area it's definitely worth a visit and hopefully you will enjoy the experience.

Fanghua L.

Yelp
Went to this place for a friends birthday. They brought out a whole celebration at the end which was pretty cool. Would definitely recommend for medium sized groups to celebrate or hang out. I thought the food was pretty good, very flavorful and the portions were very generous. The drinks were also pretty good -- I liked my frozen margarita.

Ladazhia W.

Yelp
service was terrible and waited a long time for my order to come out wrong. Need more employees and people that can speak and understand english. Food was regular, won't be coming back. Margs were pretty good. When u go to a mexican restaurant and see no mexicans eating just leave.

Christian V.

Yelp
Shoutout to fernando luna for the good vibes and amazing service we will be back for a pushup contest rematch!

Anoushka P.

Yelp
Food isn't too bad, and the vibes are great! A huge menu and an even larger math menu! This is du Vg a quintessential "Mexican restaurant" and one of the few places that open late and always busy on Euclid! The service was extremely accommodating when it came to dietary restrictions!

Emerine C.

Yelp
Burro is a fun spot, definitely a hit among the WashU Undergraduate community. I've been a couple times and they have been super speedy with the service. The decorations are unique and colorful. The fish tacos are great, the chipotle mayo has lots of flavor. Why it gets 4 stars: the last time me and my friends went we all ordered margaritas and they all were not cold. They had ice in them but the drinks themselves were room temp. We also felt a bit rushed to order.

Jackson D.

Yelp
Got the arroz con pollo. I've been here a couple times and it's decent. I always enjoy my meal but it's nothing stand out for sure. Service is great - all servers and help are kind and hard working. Ambiance is also great, it's a very lively establishment with music and lots of decoration. They also have a patio although I've never sat out there.

cate s.

Yelp
This place was pretty good. The enchiladas were delicious, but I wish it had more green sauce on it. The margs looked huge and good

Pash W.

Yelp
This restaurant is absolutely, extremely dirty. There was mold in our drink, menu; literally on the front, in the inside and on the back. Like what???? There was old food all in the crevices of the tables, Food all over the floor under our table. The food was alright, we got nachos and my husband got a chicken burrito; everything covered in cheese sauce. We ONLY came here because we were invited by our family but I probably won't be back. Service was very good, I must admit.

Orange J.

Yelp
Very standard Mexicans and margs. In the covid times they had the street blocked off and you could eat in the street. I found this high diverting.

Stacie W.

Yelp
I pass by this restaurant all the time. I often wondered what was going inside. It is always so busy and you could smell the food from outside as you passed by. They always seem so lively. The staff is absolutely friendly. My favorite waiter is Ricardo. He's attentive, helpful and laid back. I really enjoy the restaurant's décor. It is very festive and colorful. There is always music playing in the background. I mainly come here for the margarita's. I'm cool with just sipping on the drinks and eating their chips and salsa. I love the fact that the chips are brought to the table warm along with your own personal bowl of salsa so you don't have to share. I don't want to have to worry about others double dipping. They also have a really good queso dip when you're looking for something a little extra to go with your chips instead of just salsa, for those times when you really don't want to eat, eat but just want to drink and coat your stomach. The food here is simply just "OK". I've tried the chicken taquitos, steak and chicken fajitas, rice and beans. The food lacks a little extra seasoning. The presentation is picturesque but the flavor profile is lacking. My go-to margarita is the Cadillac Margarita. That's my favorite so far. I also enjoy the frozen mango margarita. I love that they give you several size options for your enjoyment and the prices are perfect. They offer a wide variety of flavors to fit your fancy. I just know before hand that I'm only here to drink and not eat so I plan accordingly. I will continue to explore other food options on the menu. Ohhhh, they offer daily specials which I'd recommend as a cost saver. They provide plastic utensils.

Dylan B.

Yelp
Overall, I regret coming here as it was annoying and inconvenient. Not only was the atmosphere loud, blinding, and disruptive, the service was lacking, and they delivered my dish very late especially compared to the rest of my accompaniment. The cups they gave us with water were so poorly designed that merely putting a straw in them caused an overflow, and any movement led to severe leaks that drenched my chair, the table, and thoroughly my pants. the food was lacking in enjoyment, it was very messy, and there were limited menu options. I do not recommend this place at all.

Jaz M.

Yelp
Haven't been in a while but it was nice to go back and experience a good time. Music is loud, so might not be good for a meeting, but for good tacos and margs?

Rizwan K.

Yelp
We have never stayed on west end before so this was new to us. Happening place for sure. Upbeat ambiance. Great FooService. Good place for friends to make a lot of noise and be Merry lol Works for me

Doug M.

Yelp
This spot has a fun interior vibe and music. Our group went for lunch. there's a compact lunch menu, but you can also order from the full menu. I went with the burrito pio pio option, which chicken. It's a chicken burrito covered with crema cheese and sides of refried beans, Spanish rice, shredded lettuce, tomato, a big sour cream pile, and a small guacamole pile. The chicken in the burrito was quite good, with a nice smokiness. Rest was all pretty standard, but enjoyable.

Don P.

Yelp
Just went here this last weekend. We found it to have a very nice place for Mexican food. It had the center boarded off for construction but the staff was able to accommodate. The food was good, not amazing. I ordered the combo meal. Chicken taco, cheese enchilada and a chile relleno. All rice and no beans. The chicken taco was great. The enchilada was good but was just a folded tortilla with cheese inside. The chile relleno was okay. The batter was very tough and lacked flavor. The chile was very small and was tender. The margaritas were pretty good. Priced right and tasty. The server that helped us had no personality at all. Everything was one word answers and very abrupt. She was not kind or wanted to help. We asked for pepper over three times and the last time she just took it from patrons sitting at the table across from us. The other patrons were not happy with that move. We took the pepper back to them and apologized for her actions. Our waters were never refilled and no one asked how our meals were. We will only go back if we do not get her as our server. I am sure there are other servers that would treat us better.
