Hotel El Callejón in Oaxaca it’s hunted!
…. was a major disappointment and very hard to recommend, especially considering the stay was in the most expensive room, which made the overall experience feel even worse relative to the price paid. The room itself felt uncomfortable and haunted, making it difficult to relax or rest properly during the stay. On top of that, the pickup transfer from the hotel to the airport, which had been arranged in advance, never arrived, creating unnecessary stress and forcing last‑minute changes to reach the flight on time. Communication with reception was also very poor, even though Spanish was spoken fluently, so the problem was not a language barrier but a lack of attentiveness and follow‑through from the staff. Given the combination of an unsettling room, failed airport transfer, and weak communication, it is hard to recommend staying at this hotel, particularly at higher room categories when there are many other boutique options in Oaxaca with better reputations for service and reliability.
