The food was okay. The salsa and chips was very basic and not Mexican style at all. I wouldn’t recommend it. For food, we had the cod fish tacos and it was average. Other items we ordered were okay as well. The dessert, churros was not good at all, and would not recommend it at all. The service was average too. The ambience was really good and great decoration! The patio outside is nice on a nice day!

I think this place is a real hidden gem for brunches. We are always surprised it isn’t more busy during weekend brunches. The prices are so reasonable and the food is excellent! I’m not sure where else you’d get two weekend brunch items of this calibre with two drinks for <$50 (excluding tip) in Vancouver. The Recalentado is the perfect balance of savoury and sweet - we love the cornbread base. The Canela French Toast is delicious - not crazy sweet and not so unhealthy that you feel sick after.

This is fast-becoming one of my favorite places on Main. I went here for brunch with about 9 friends last week, and we all agreed it was EXCELLENT. Avo-toast was great and a great value for around 10 bucks with a green salad. Their Portuguese Shepherds pie is terrific and filling (my friend and i couldn't finish it between 2 people---but wow, good stuff!) The Brussels sprouts are a must-get. Also, their pescado taco is one of the best I've ever had outside of Mexico. One last thing: the food plating is so pretty and photograph-able... someone definitely has a great eye for creating beautiful food ✨️

El Camino’s is one of those neighbourhood spots that just gets it right. It’s got that classic pub feel with a Latin street food twist. Delicious tacos, wings, great cocktails, and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. You walk in and it feels like everyone’s been coming here forever, but newcomers are always treated like regulars. The staff are awesome, super friendly and always ready with a solid suggestion if you’re not sure what to get. Today we went for the dry rub wings and they were unreal. Big, juicy, cooked perfectly, and the rub had this sweet and tangy thing going on that really worked. We also had the carne asada tacos, and since it was Taco Tuesday, they were on special. Always a bonus. They’ve got both covered and uncovered patio space too, so you can grab a seat no matter the weather. Just a great place to relax, eat well, and feel part of the neighbourhood.

Food and drinks were so good! One of the best margaritas I’ve had in Vancouver so far 👀 we went at 5pm on a Saturday, we had no reservation but they were able to fit us in thankfully! Such a good menu, it all sounds so delicious it’s hard to choose 🙌🏻

Google
I've been to El Camino's a number of times and their food + drinks have never disappointed. I'm especially a fan of their margaritas and the good vibes the place has to offer. If you're lucky enough to grab a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the liveliness that main street has to offer as well. I honestly wouldn't even recommend a specific dish here - everything I've had has always been tasty. If you're a fan of a chicken burger, they do it right here. Can't wait to come back for another drink!

We tried the Duck Carnitas and Pork Belly, ñamm, great Mexican Fusion food! You must want to order extra order of tortillas for your Duck tacos, it should be like in Mexico, where we have unlimited free tortillas 🥲 Overall great service and food.

Google
The place is more for a bar rather than restaurant. Food we ordered was all good, I personally prefer hot food, but when it was served, tastes like room temperature. It has good atmosphere eating with friends.

Yelp
Pretty good Mexican style restaurant! We loved the tacos as they were dressed generously and had strong and bold flavours that really scratched our taco itch. The meats were cooked well and complemented well with all the dressing and zesty lemon slices. Portion sizes are on the smaller side though, and I would've preferred to pay a little more to have 3 tacos per portion rather than 2. But still great! They have great outdoor seating which is good when the weather is good, but it's right next to the road so may be a bit noisy

Yelp
Located on Main Street, El Camino's is a nice place to grab Mexican food during the summer, they have a big patio and don't need prior reservations. They also have all day happy hour on Sundays which is pretty awesome since we went there on a Sunday night! For drinks, we got their non-alcoholic pina colada which was good.. like any other pina colada :) For appies we ordered their queso fundido, without the meat. It was cheesy for sure and came with a side of four soft tortillas, it was kind of like make your own tacos. I liked it! And it was also on the happy hour menu. For mains - :: Carnitas taco - it came with pineapple pico which I didn't hate but I though the shredded pork wasn't the most juicy. :: pescado taco - SOO GOOD! The fish was really crispy :: papas chorreads - potatoes in creamy sauce with feta and paprika.. you can't go wrong :: pan de maize - sweet griddle cornbread with burnt onion butter. OH this was so good, it melted in your mouth! I would definitely return!!

Yelp
I met up with friends for brunch on a Saturday morning. Three out of the five of us got the Chorillana Chilena, after our server recommended it. The meal came with two sunny eggs, home fries, strips of beef, chorizo, caramelized onions, tomatoes, jack cheese, and chipotle sauce. It was very filling, tasted great overall, and at $18.50 was good value. We sat outside on the patio, so I didn't get an idea of what the interior of the restaurant looks like, but I thought the patio was perfect for a sunny, summer morning.

Yelp
Came in for some drinks and a small bite before our dinner reservations. The bar was very busy and it was very warm inside. The bartender was very nice. The ceviche we ordered was decent. 3 of our 4 drinks were not very good. The poloma was not made well at all. The coconut margarita was decent.

Yelp
Met some girlfriends for drinks and dinner. The meal was delicious (Bacalhau)and the cocktail was divine. Looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on my first day in Vancouver. Coming from Austin, TX I chose to opt in for breakfast tacos and I wasn't disappointed. They were very good. And being a lover of spicy foods, I tried their hot sauce and it didn't disappoint. I also love when a place does a good Bloody Mary and there it was just the way I like.

Yelp
I made the mistake of suggesting this place last Saturday night. The food and drinks were good, but the server gave us attitude. I served in restaurants and bars for almost 15 years, and never once did I act pretentious or rude to any customer. Ever. This girl obviously has never been taught how to treat customers and shouldn't be working with the public. I'll never come back here. There are way too many other amazing restaurants in this city that have great customer service.

Yelp
Our first time at this restaurant despite having lived in the area since it opened. Our 20 y.o. son encouraged us to go, and we ended up having a very nice evening. We all enjoyed our meals, and especially liked the brussels sprouts appy (our mothers would be proud...), the corn bread, and the Brazilian shepherd's pie. Shout out to our server, Emily, who kindly surprised our son with a (free) dessert c/w lit candle as it was his birthday the day we were there. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the noise level. It's a popular place, so some noise is to be expected, but is music really required when it's already hard enough to talk? Perhaps add some noise reduction measures. All in all, we highly recommend the place, and plan to go back.

Yelp
Checked out El Camino's on an early Saturday evening before it got too busy. Was seated a booth. Music was playing throughout the night. Server provided some suggestions and decided to go with: CARNITAS pork shoulder tacos ($12) BAJA PESCADO fish tacos ($13) PAPAS CHORREADAS nugget potato in smoked paprika cream sauce ($10.50) EL CAMINO ROYALE (buttermilk fried chicken) SANGUCHES ($15) Carnitas tacos were a bit dry, Baja Pescado were good. Papas Chorreadas were potato in almost a cheese sauce. Their sanguchues had a nice soft bun and the chicken had a nice spice kick. Good overall experience at El Camino's

Yelp
If it is your first time eating Latin cuisine, this might be your place, however, if you have tried Latin food from a real latin restaurant, it is pretty hard to recommend this place. Service was very fast and friendly. It was my first time in this restaurant.

Yelp
Great covered heated pet-friendly patio! They have happy hour every day. Really like to stop by, eat some latin food and grab some drinks. My favorite is their Carnitas tacos! $13 (comes with 2 tacos). Delicious and creamy guacamole, very tender slow cooked pork shoulder, salsa verde and some crispy chicarrones. Great combination! Everything works well together, lots of flavors and textures. You must try it! Also really like their wings portion from the Happy Hour menu. Very crispy and tender. Great with a drink!

Yelp
This place was fun and delicious. There was a trivia night happening while we were here and while we weren't playing officially, it was fun for the family to guess. It seemed busy when we arrived but we were seated right away. They were conscientious about my kid's egg allergy, and the air was very fresh (he sometimes has his asthma triggered by cooking smells, so while it's a weird thing to note, it was particularly noteworthy here that it felt like we had a clean breeze nearby even though we weren't near the front.) Really lovely and helpful servers too, thanks!

Yelp
Anyone that knows me knows I love me some tacos and tequila. Which makes this next fact surprising: but up until last week, I had never been to El Camino's. I know, I know, who am I? However, I finally made it there, got my taco and tequila fix, and left a happy camper. Two of my friends and I were craving tacos (big surprise) and since one of my friends lives around Main, we walked on over to El Camino's. They've got plenty of socially distanced patio seating, but they were all full, so we opted for a table inside, since there weren't many people inside anyway. All the tables were socially distant, there was plenty of hand sanitizer at the front of the restaurant, and all the servers were wearing masks and keeping their distance - so I felt very safe! Their menu specializes in Latin American street food, which consists of a variety of bite sized appetizers (cornbread, chicarones, choreadas, etc.), tacos, and sandwiches. They also have an assortment of cocktails, wine, and beer on their drink menu. To drink, I got me'self a double mezcal margarita. It was strong, just the way I like 'em, and hit the spot perfectly. To eat, I opted for the veggie chorapapas tacos which had cauli-chorizo, smoked tofu & potato, guajillo chili sauce, radish, feta on top. For $10 it came with two six inch tacos which were generously topped with filling. I really enjoyed the tacos, but think they could use a bit more flavour. Maybe if it had a little more of a kick or some sort of sauce, they would've been perfect. My pals got the carnitas tacos and sweet chili cauli wings. I tried a few bites of the cauli wings and was pleasantly surprised with how good they were. I loved how crispy the cauli was and how much sauce it was doused with. Service was great and food came out quickly. I'll definitely be back for more tacos and tequila in the very near future. Thanks for a fun evening, El Camino's!

Yelp
We enjoyed good service . The room was loud making it hard to talk. Tacos were alright. The seasoning didn't enhance the flavours of the food , especially with the chicken and prawn tacos . The calamari was bland but nice and tender . It came with a tasty dipping sauce. The margaritas were good. I'd return to El Camino but not in a hurry.

Yelp
I've had an overload of Asian eats lately so I wanted to change things up and eat something different. B's been to El Camino's sister restaurant, The Cascade Room, before. It's located beside Don't Argue! Pizzeria. We dropped in on a busy Sunday afternoon for brunch. The heated, covered patio outside is a nice alternative but we were able to snag a table inside by the windows. Service is friendly and music was awesome. Great soundtrack of old tunes playing softly in the background. The menu was short and sweet for brunch; less than 10 options and beverages (refrescos, cervezas and cocteles). The regular menu is a bit more interesting with ensalatas, raciones (sharing dishes), arepas and tacos. Happy hour is weekdays (4:00pm to 6:00pm), Saturday (3:00pm to 6:00pm, 10:00pm to midnight) and Sunday (3:00pm to 11:00pm). There's also "late night" happy hour every night (10:00pm to midnight) except Sunday (4:00pm to 11:00pm). They also have a couple weekly features. Phew. - Grace Bros ginger beer ($3.50) - surprisingly has a good ginger zip to it. - Huevos divorciados ($12.00) - two over easy eggs on crisp corn tortillas, black beans, monteray jack, salsa verde, salsa roja and hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were incredibly bland. Same with their eggs. It's always a bad sign when I have to use hot sauce to make things flavourful. At least they make their own here; the one on the table was called anillo del fuego ("fire ring"). It had four peppers on the label it but wasn't spicy. Skip the huevos. Super disappointing. - The hangover ($14.00) - corn tortilla chilaquiles with black beans, cheese, scrambled eggs, red salsa, sour cream and hashbrowns. This dish lived up to it's name; perfect carb loading. Besides the eggs and hashbrowns, everything was flavourful. The cilantro added on top added a nice touch of freshness to the dish. Decent but not sure if I'd come back to EC for brunch again with so many other options on Main Street.

Yelp
Had a fantastic meal here! We started with the papas chorreadas, smashed potatoes in a smoked paprika cream with feta, and an excellent mahi mahi ceviche. Then we shared a (huge) Cubano sandwich, generously filled with ham, roasted pork, cheese and pickles. Drinks were very well crafted... we tried the Pisco Fever, the El Diablo with spicy ginger beer, a mezcal margarita and a mojito. Our server was super friendly and quick to refill waters and remove dishes from the crowded table, and another server checked on us a few times too. Fun and cool atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Despite being a Monday and having very few customers, this place delivered on a cool vibe with delicious food. I would have liked more local craft beer and it could have been a little warmer. The guacamole and chips are delish as were the rajas con crema and pescado tacos. I liked this place and will definitely be back! Oh margarita Monday!! : )

Yelp
Haven't been here in a long time. Renovated. Good night time vibe. Food was good with friendly service.

Yelp
My go-to for red wine and tequila. Happy hour here is dope and the staff are dope. Super laid back and there's always comfy seating either outside on the (heated) patio or inside. Pros: - $3 tequila shots and $5 wine during happy hour - salsa reel - short rib tacos - awesome service - free popcorn - tequila chaser that's this wonderful concoction of pineapple juice, mint, jalapeño and magic Cons: - if I think of any, ill update this review
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for a happening, lively place, come here! Indoor/outdoor joint with loud music, festive atmosphere and a fun menu to choose from! The salsa had such robust flavor and the guacamole had a kick to it. Waitress was warm, fun and service was on point. The tostado - crab salad, prawns, avocado, burnt onion mayo, iceberg lettuce, tajin cucumber, pico de gallo - has such depth of flavor and was so beautiful to eat. Margaritas weren't as strong as I would have liked but above average.

Yelp
This has been on my wish list for quite some time so i was happy to see their patio open! I ordered their al pastor tacos. The meat was super tender and juicy, i especially loved the Chicharron. My friend ordered the shepherds pie and the taste was fluffy and quite delicious. Another item i really enjoyed was their wings with a Tajin Rub. The service was amazing and the vibe was great!

Yelp
Great margaritas and Micheladas. Lively atmosphere. Attentive wait staff. Our group arrived at 6:30 on Saturday night and were promptly able to be seated for four. We were at the table for over two hours and never felt rushed. The el Tigre shot is the bomb. I have enjoyed the vegetarian menu items including the Papas Chorreadas, squash and cauliflower tacos. There are better and more authentic around town but for a casual easy night out this is a solid choice. Tried the Machaca tacos recently and they are huge and meaty and yummy. Open late!
google avatar

Rudy C.

Yelp
Upon arrival to this restaurant I already knew that I was going to El Camino but as I was inside I had no idea where I was for the renovation made it look like a brand new place. They still kept the right side of the restaurant traditional but everything else had a nice modern and radiant touches it. The service was as good as always and the food was even better. We decided to sit on the patio for the first time because it was very hot and nice out and that's what we do when we want to people watch while eating isn't it? I ordered the Tomatican hash, as I have something for hash at brunches. She ordered the Chivito. To be quite honest I couldn't decide who's was better as they both taste amazing!!! I have been here a few times and I have never been disappointed with the food nor service. My love for MainStreet restaurants are generally high and well regarded. Along with a lot of other restaurants on this street I recommend this one. Enjoy and happy eating!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here because we were craving a Cubano nearby. We landed here during Happy Hour and ordered the Torta Cubano, Taquito of the Day, Paloma, and a beer. The happy hour deals were pretty good! The taquito of the day was filled with pork and something I can't quite remember the name of. It was so delicious though! The outside had the perfect amount of crunch and the filling was so flavourful, I wish I could remember what the other main ingredient was! The dish came as two large taquitos for $6 which was totally worth it. The cubano was not much to look at but was so wonderful to taste. Might not have been a good idea to order another very pork-heavy dish with the taquitos, as the cubano is soo meaty (which is perfect if I was a bit hungrier that day). I really enjoyed it anyways though, I usually hate pickles and the one in this sandwich didn't taste like a typical pickle and had a bit more of an interesting kick. Came with a few tortilla chips on the side we just dipped in the salsa that came with our taquitos. I definitely want to come back and eat this again when I have more of an appetite (ate too many tacos earlier in the day when we visited). Ambiance was more loud and bar-like, but it wasn't so loud that I couldn't hear when someone spoke to me. It was also a Friday evening which could explain it, the place was pretty full at around 6pm. Our server was sweet and chatty, she always came by to check up on us. I think this was definitely a place I'd come again as I liked the cubano and the taquito was delicious, but I really want to try some of their other dishes next time!
google avatar

Hansel W.

Yelp
Such a great experience here! Service is fantastic - even on a busy Friday night, we had friendly servers helping us clear dishes, fill up on water, and provide us napkins to counter the mess that we all know and love when eating tacos. We sat on the patio and still never had trouble flagging someone down when needed. The environment is hip, upbeat, and casual. Many different options for seating (outside, inside, table, bench, booth) and a dimly lit, romantic vibe throughout the place. Washroom are well maintained and clean. Some side street parking in the area, and accessible by transit. The food is amazing and such a steal for the price! Can't stress enough how delicious and flavourful the tacos are, and also how affordable they are. Had a chance to try the calamari and churros too, which I would definitely recommend as a starter and dessert option. Highly recommend checking this place out!
google avatar

Eliza L.

Yelp
Sadly I can't say that i'm impressed with the tacos. I find that the meat is always dry, and you have to drown them in sauce to taste any real flavour. 1 star for the chicken wings. 1 star for the tasty margaritas. That's it tho :(
google avatar

Denise W.

Yelp
I noticed there are lot of spicy items on the menu. I am not a fan of spicy food so it pretty weeds out my options here. he servers are very friendly and did recommended us a few good dishes. I wanted to tell her I can not tolerate spicy food but then it would not make sense why I am at a latin restaurant. We got the pull pork corn bread. This is not the same as any other corn bread. Its pan fried and has pull pork, cheese, horseradish and few other things in the corn bread. The corn bread is served like a sandwhich. We also got a steak taco. That was very good and yummy. The taco is of standard size if you order it else where. The taco comes in pairs. We also got a seafood rice dish. It has 4 muscles, baby shrimps and fish with rice . The sauce is a coconut sauce which is very delicious. It does have a spicy kick to it. Well let say even the thing we ordered that we thought are not spicy has a spicy kick to it. This place is said to be very busy all the time. There are free parking in the residential area. Out in front is not free, its metered parking.

Yelp
I never ever come back to this place. We ordered Pao of queijo (food Brazilian), empanada, arepa carnes (food Venezuela) and the Taco Gamba (Mexican food). They aren't real Latin food. Starting with the Pai of queijo. was fine, but can't find the flavor cheese in the bread. Second Empanada, was good. but it's not the real. This was made with flour and the original are made with cornmeal. The empanada are coming with Guasacaca sauce. When you tried the first time is good, but after the flyover is bitter and sour. (We were sit close the kitchen and we saw the sauce they were outside on the desk and no in the fridge. We though that the sauce is coming bad) However worst was the Arepa, was the most disgusting food ever I have tried in my life. the Arepa was cold and and has no taste, apparently they made earlier and after put it on the grill. Carne was unsalted, tasteless and not seasoning. I have tried best Arepa. finally the Taco. glad to have the opportunity to have eaten Taco in other restaurant before come here. because the Taco served in this place is the lousy. you can imagine for the first time someone wants to try a Taco here and discover that the Taco has that taste. I can swear that that person never will return to try Taco again. Taco Gambas no taste. and sauces aren't good. I think this place not use Salt, condiments or any type of species for seasoning the food. And I can't understand why this place is so busy. When we arrived here we had to wait like 30 min. I give 2 star for the service. it was OK. waitress attend, friendly and nice. For the food minus 5 (-5) star. If have the posible to put that. If you want to try real Latin food. I recommend to search other place. Here it's lose your money and time.

Yelp
Normally I'm not a huge fan of Mexican food, but this place has me sold. Parking is available for free along the side streets, but there are meters on Main as well. ***I am giving this place 3 stars instead of 4, as they told us a reservation wasn't needed when we phoned in to make one. This turned into a 1.5 hour wait. They gave us 2 bowls of lime popcorn during our wait though.*** The theme is a bit unique, as they are playing the "revolution" card. With that said, it seems quite trendy, and somewhat in line with my limited travels to that part of the world. The place is a bit cramped overall. Something to keep in mind. El tigre - tequila and chaser. I enjoyed the chaser quite a bit. Empanada de carne - like a mini fried Jamaican Patty. Comes in 3. Nice and crunchy. Pollo bocadillo (sandwich) - nice and toasty - reminds me of the Vietnamese variety. Served with tangy green sauce. Carne asada (steak tacos) - actually quite good. There are only 2 though, which makes it awkward if your group has 3. Pollo (chicken tacos) - also quite good. Chicken is nice and crisp. I liked the steak ones more though. Lomo saltado - stir-fried beef. This dish was a bit curious as it comes with potato wedges, which didn't quite go too well with the rice. My friend was all over the rice though. Flavour is nice and light. Dish is actually not spicy. Chicken wings - special mention. These things are quite spicy, but with that subtleness that you don't get at most other wings places. Portion is a bit small, but these are delicious. Pastel des Tres Lehes - sponge cake with maple syrup. Just the right amount of sweetness. Served with a blob of heavy cream up top, and bits of nuts. Very delicious. Overall, other than the wait, I was quite happy. Will be back at some point. Recommended.

Yelp
I was served a rancid cocktail here last night (I'm very familiar with all the ingredients. Either the grapefruit juice or Aperol had turned - my husband concurred). I returned it - politely. The server seemed to take it personally, for some reason, and after gaslighting me about it, refused to look at me or address me the rest of the meal. It was incredibly bizarre. We live in the neighbourhood and this used to be a great spot. We won't be back. Too many other great restaurants with great service in the area. Disappointing.

Yelp
This place is really nice. I meant to write a review of it when I was there. Im 2 weeks late...sorry guys! My wife and I approached El Camino's with some trepidation, we didn't need to. Awesome food! Deep fried cauliflower?! That was delicious! Fish tacos were also fantastic. Highly recommended to go here. 4 out 5 stars.
google avatar

Shan T.

Yelp
The cauliflower wings!!!! Yes, they're somewhat pricey for an appetizer or side. But I'm drooling thinking about them again. I believe I tried it with rubbed sweet chili dry rub. Also tried Camarones Tacos which had coconut chili lime prawns, cabbage slaw, pineapple salsa. I was not a fan of the pineapple in the taco but I would say that's more of a personal preference than an actual ingredient clash.

Lindsay K.

Yelp
Had brunch here yesterday on the patio! Had the huevos divorciados which were fine. Also had a beer and a margarita. Margarita was delicious, really well-made. Service was okay, but could have been more prompt. Overall my first visit to El Camino's was fine but I don't think I'll be rushing to go back.
google avatar

Olga Z.

Yelp
The breakfast is very average. If you come for dinner however, they have marvelous live music! The Margarita is pretty average as well. The worst thing is they have no hooks! No place whatsoever to put your clothes, bag, etc. And the booth only fits four people, not their belongings. So you purse in everyone's way, getting dirty on the floor. Is it really that difficult to get some hooks? The staff is not friendly I'd say, talk to you with attitude :(
google avatar

Cam T.

Yelp
Don't know why we haven't been here for dinner before. The restaurant has a great vibe to it, though a tad loud for me personally. But it was not a big issue. We arrived at 5:55pm tonight and were pleasantly surprised to see that it was also taco Tuesday, bonus. All tacos are $5. Plus I squeaked in my drink order before happy hour wrapped up at 6pm, double bonus! A nice cold bottle of Pacifico for $4! We ordered 4 different tacos: carne asada (beef), pescado (fish), al pastor (pulled pork), and pollo (fried chicken). Each serving came with 2 tacos and all were delicious. I would recommend the carne, pollo and the pescado. I wasn't a fan of the pulled pork, it was too runny. We also ordered a Moqueca (Brazilian seafood rice bowl). At first taste, I thought that it was a Thai dish. It tasted so similiar to a coconut curry. It was delicious regardless of whether or not the flavours were authentic Brazilian. All the seafood were perfectly cooked, not overcooked at all. Everything arrived FAST despite a full house! We were in and out in 40 minutes. All the staff we came in contact with tonight were friendly. Great execution on food & service. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
This is one of our fave go this for fast dinner... Except last nite. Poor placement left guests waiting for 30 minutes at the door with starving kids. We were a table of 4, but they spaced out the tables for two so that 6 seats were empty as we stood there. They would not inquire if the diners at the table could shift over to allow us to seat. Their dinners were not even served to them Our quick dinner took 2 hours Someone needs to manage the front end better. Food was great as always Update on El Camino restaurant. I was incredibly disappointed the other night when I arrived at my favourite Restaurant to order my favourite dish, the chicken tacos just to find out it had been annihilated from the menu completely! I was so looking forward to those and the fish tacos (which were my second favourite) and they were both not an option anymore. Me and my family will not be constantly requesting to go to el caminos until my favourite dishes return.

Yelp
Go during mariachi Wednesdays:) Food is awesome, service is ok and having mariachis makes your dinner experience a happy experience. I ordered their chicken tinga tacos and tortilla soup. The tacos were super good and the tortilla soup was not bad. Will go back again after 7pm on Wednesdays for mariachi Wednesdays:)

Yelp
One of the best places with amazing staff! We had Melinda with great but Big D was really the highlight! Not only did she take service to the next level but really made us feel like friends, not just patrons! I would go back for Big D any day!

Yelp
I hadn't been here in awhile. It has expanded since I last was here. It has nice outdoor patio seating for the summer, and a good happy hour selection. We had the tacos, delicious and worth the happy hour price. The service could be a little friendlier.

Yelp
Great food, great server. Weird how the food came out one dish at a time for a table of four. By the time the first one finished, the last one was just starting in on her entree. But the drinks and company helped. Would visit this place again.

Yelp
Cute, fun and the food has personality too. I really enjoyed the Arepa with pulled pork. It was hot and sweet --like your first girl friend. This little grilled sammi is juicy, you definitely wanna keep that bowl underneath so you're not wearing spicy red sauce when you're done. You might also want to order the Chickpea Fritas to fill in the blank because these dishes are not large. They're different than fries in texture and maybe even a tad better for ya too. Comes with a spicy dipping sauce and it's a sharable size. The bar is adorable! Next time I'm having drinks and dessert, there's a flourless chocolate cake on the menu calling my name. I'll be back for more of this yumminess.

Yelp
Spicy. Hollandaise. I may just die from taste-bud happiness overload - seriously. I was skeptical about their brunch, don't ask me why, but pulled the trigger on Saturday morning. Man, am I glad I did. This place does a WICKED breakfast/brunch menu, I cannot WAIT to go back and stuff my face again. Rolled in around 10:30am, the place was already packed but we lucked out as a table was just leaving. We were sat right away, but it was a little awkward getting to my seat due to the fact that the tables are packed so close together. It was kind of weird being so close to another set of people on both sides, but I got over it pretty quick and ordered a tequila cesar! It was love at first sip. The boozey brunch drink was great, but I needed solid food in my belly so I didn't require a siesta by noon. Enter the Chorizo Benedict. Two perfectly cooked poached eggs (I like mine a little harder and the server was awesome about accommodating me) set atop guac smothered, perfectly toasted english muffin halves. Finish with delicious tomato and chorizo chunks. Heaven on a plate. BUT WAIT! What is this? The bene would not be complete without a good dollop of EC's amazing "smokey" hollandaise. I personally found it a little more spicy than smokey, but hot damn, it was delicious. Service was snappy, my bill was on the table right when I was ready to get a move on. Love EC! If their tacos are anything like the benny, I might be in trouble!

Yelp
Little known Jody fact: i'm obsessed with chicken wings. I don't go for that dry rub nonsense. Nor do I eat them with a fork and knife. But give me saucy, nasty napkin and sticky hands chicken wings any day of the week and i'll be pretty happy about life. Which leads me to wonder what ridiculous rock i've been living under that's kept me from EC this past year. I live six blocks away. I am disappointed in my wing savviness. And I am going to spend WAY too much time here from here on out. The atmosphere in this place is that classy kitschy vibe that Main St does so well. It's comfortable, clean and bright. The patio is achingly small but on a nice day, with the windows open, you'll fare well sliding up to the bar. The cocktails are good and the bartenders are friendly as heck. Anyone who complains about the price as never actually watched them pour these lethal little concoctions. I nearly leapt over the bar to hug them. We put down a pisco sour, mojito & El Diablo. And this scotch girl tips the hat - all were extremely well done. Not too sweet, nicely balanced and put hair on your chest strong. Cheers. The food? Yes, i'll agree with my fellow Yelpers that the price to portion ratio is a little bit off here. But there are stand outs that make for exceptions. From our excursion: Try: 1. The gosh darn chicken wings. Price to portion be damned, this dish is definitely an exception. $12 gets you a healthy damn plate of delicious, that comes out piping hot with just the right amount of spice. Get your hands dirty & just do it. 2. A side order for the red devil chorizo sausage. It's a plate of sausage. That goes with everything. And for $4 it'll add oomph to your smaller dishes. On The Fence: 1. Buttered popcorn with chili lime salt. I'm a big fan when I see popcorn as a potential side. And this was tasty, but the dish was small for two and I didn't investigate the refill situation. 2. The tacos. We took down an order of the Pescado tacos. They were tasty but i'd reserve the re-order for taco Tuesdays when it's 2 for $5. Even then, they are pretty tiny. Pass: Gambas aprepa. Far too much aioli makes for a grilled mayo sandwich experience. Just. No. But over all? Friendly staff, strong cocktails, bit chin chicken wings and a decent scotch selection for when this little one wimps out on tequila? Hi new regular haunt.

Yelp
Okay, so me and a couple of friends went back for Taco Tuesdays. First thing's first - the chaser we had last time was called "verdita". It's amazing. Refreshing, delicious and calms the burn after the shot of tequila. Ordered that to start. Obviously. We went to town on these guys. We had: carne asada, carnitas and pollo tacos, cocnut mussels, carne guisada bocadillos and carne empanadas. The tacos were pretty decent - good flavour and balance. For my money I'd rather eat tacos at La Taqueria. Carne Asada, steak slices topped with guacamole, was my favourite (I can't resist anything with guac apparently). I have some high standards when it comes to carnitas (California, baby) but this one was a bit of a let down. It was rather dry and the pickled vegetables were a bit of a miss. Pollo was good but nothing exciting to be honest. Onto the mussels: they weren't overcooked as often is the case for mussels served in restaurants, which I was very pleased about. Good enough. Empanadas were supposed to have been made with beef and chorizos but I mainly found ground beef with taco seasoning. Meh. Not too crazy about them. Now the bocadillo was a pleasant surprise. The meat was juicy and flavourful and the arugula and caramelized onions made the sandwich that much better. One thing I wanted more of was the chimichurri as I didn't quite notice its presence very much. We ordered some tacos first while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive but they didn't arrive for some time (tacos not the group). As Rosita said below they seem to be a little slow when it comes to the service time. Although as the night wore on the food started coming faster and faster. Maybe it was all those tequila shots with verdita chasers that was warping my sense of time? All in all, they serve petty good food and the price isn't outrageous. I do hope they sort out the service time because initially it felt like it took forever to get our initial order but i was pretty pleased with the rest of the night.

Yelp
On a sunny autumn Saturday morning, we picked El Caminos to dine at. It was my man's first time here; he wanted for me to try somewhere I haven't been, but I didn't mind coming here again because I remember enjoying the flavours when I came here a couple years ago. At 11 am we didn't have to wait in line. Yesssss. However the restaurant was 85% full. We got to sit wherever we wanted and so we chose the last booth that was free. We chose fast, and aside from the aimlessly wandering younger girl, the rest of the staff were attentive. So with our coffee and some patience, we finally places our order. One huevos divorciados and one tomatican hash. We blinked , sipped some coffee and in (give or take) 3.5 minutes our food was there! Then we enjoyed each other's plates and shared and were super happy with the flavours. Yummy Latin American flavours on Main Street. Delish.

Yelp
Very busy place, not a lot of servers so you don't get much service at all. The food tasted pretty good but incredibly small. We thought when the Beef Arepa came that it was just an appetizer to the meal. Turns out we paid $7.50 for something the size of my palm. Didn't even come with a side salad or chips. The chorizo was alright. Definitely not as spicy as I expected from the advertisement. The beef bocadillo was nothing special. Easily made at home. Overall we were disappointed and ended up at McDonalds on the way home.

Yelp
Fancied some tacos on Tuesday night and thought its been awhile since dining at El Camino's. Menu choices were smaller, I guess Covid also saves on trees in less paper to print on. We had the chicherrones to start then fish, shrimp and carnitas tacos, smashed potatoes and tuna ceviche salad al to share. Lots of odd and plenty of leftovers. Food was awesome, very delish but disappointed no tres leches cake had to settle for the churros, not bad but a little dense. Shame the place was empty hence finding parking out front was easy. Overall, a great dinner, would definitely come back.

Yelp
Upbeat, bright and energetic - that's the overall sense you get from the atmosphere, food and service. Of all the Cascade group of restaurants (including Cascade Room, The Union, and the new Charlie's Italian that replaced Habit), this is probably their smallest. I loved my first experience here! They have a small patio, but even inside, you get a lot of light coming in on a summer evening. We were there on a Sunday, and couldn't resist the Bocadilla (Mexican sub sandwiches) & Pint special for $10. We tried two different bocadilla: The Carne Guisada - braised beef with caramelized onions and the Carnitas - pulled pork. Both were delicious, on fresh bread, with the meat just melting in your mouth. It was plenty of food, but I wish it wasn't! All around us, we saw people ordering the Arepas and the Tequila Lime Prawns and food envy was setting in BIG TIME. Their beer menu could be more exciting, but they do have quite a few bottled Mexican beers to choose from. On tap, they only have Main Street Pilsner, which was fine for the mood we were in that day. We will definitely be back - maybe on a Tuesday when their taco special is on! I'm getting the prawns next time.

Yelp
My friend and I went one afternoon for lunch and ordered empanadas, tacos, I had lomo saltado (highly recommended) and a side order of chorizo. Food was pretty good to be fair. Sadly there was too much attitude on the service and the pretty waitress would not acknowledge me when I waived my hand to ask for the bill and another one stopped by our table to ask if we were waiting for something. We explained and she went to talk to the waitress that was servicing us first. So pretty face came back with the card machine to start conversation trying to show a friendly attitude so fake that was really hard to buy. Also, to be a Latin American restaurant we had to bear a long set of 80's American Pop-Rock. Not Latin American Music, at all. Food is pretty decent but won't be coming back because of the Service and the Ambiance.
