El Capitano - Woodfired Pizzeria & Cocktail Bar

We walked up on a weekend evening with no reservations, but they were able to accommodate for a table for two. Wonderful service, great atmosphere and delicious food. We had the wild mushroom pizza that was amazing! Wasn't sure what to expect, but it was a great surprise! The tiger prawn pasta was amazing as well. We will definitely be back!

Proper dough, all crispy and caramelised.. delicious toppings.. the best pizza. Cocktails 🍹 made very well and a happy, friendly team who serve you well. Music cool to bop along to. A great experience to chill and have a good time with family and friends.

I ordered the crab pasta and it was extremely disappointing. It tasted like tomato and water — no salt, no seasoning, and no real flavour at all. Easily the worst pasta I’ve ever had. This was particularly disappointing as I chose the place after seeing it featured in promotional videos. The pizza was okay, but unfortunately the pasta completely ruined the experience. I wouldn’t order it again.

We didn't have a reservation however the team were able to seat us which was great however it did go downhill from there. The service went downhill over the course of the evening, we ordered a glass of wine each and one was totally forgotten about for 15 minutes before we could flag it to somebody. When our starters came the waitress knocked over the water glass and just left the table wet. Our starters came at the same time and we had only barely finished them before one of our mains came (brisket paperdelle - delicious) and after the wine we checked there is a pizza to come? we were assured yes so the pasta was eaten and finished then five minutes after finishing the pasta the pizza arrived. As we were not sharing these meals we just had to watch the other eat. When we raised this as a disappointment we were told "yes, the kitchens don't talk to each other, sorry about that" and then the waitress proceeded to ignore us until we had to chase down the bill to leave. Wouldn't rush back.

Always great to sit at the bar for dinner. Franco had the bar under full control, time for a chat, custom cocktail, instant food orders with amazing knowledge all round. Whitebait fitti, perfectly crunchy. Slow roasted lamb shoulder pizza, tender lamb with all flavours well matched. Organic sourdough base, delish. Awesome place.

Lots of pizza takeaways (a great sign!), with many people queuing for tables too. The outdoor setting was great with the lights, fire pit and some music, alongside several indoor tables too. The food was great, although took some time (~45 minutes) for the pizzas to come out, appreciating it was quite busy. Other tables who arrived after us seemed to get their food before us which was unfortunate. Staff were pleasant, and it's a fantastic setting for evening dinner.

Pizza was delicious and the cocktails were sensational. Lucas in the bar had a great sense of humour and had us laughing all night. Max and the staff here were all so friendly and made our night so special.

Gorgeous meal. I dined solo at the bar - the guys at the bar were chatty and the place had a great buzz. Excellent GF pizza - homemade base, winning!
