El Casal Café Bar - Tapas, Vinos y Ostras

After more than two weeks of traveling around Spain, I was fortunate to have the best meal of the whole trip on my last night here. Authentic, unpretentious, and local with welcoming staff and kind service. Super fresh oysters and delicious food all around. Selfishly, I hope it stays a hidden gem for the next time I'm back.

Our group went to El Casal Café Bar to have some oysters. All the dishes we ordered looked unappetizing when they were brought out — and unfortunately, they tasted that way too. I ordered the pork ribs, but what I got was just a single piece of stringy meat. The experience was completely ruined when I went to the restroom and saw large cockroaches running around.

I was recommended this place after my working tour, and it did not disappoint. It was the best menu del dia I'd had on my weeks holiday. The starter was aubergine, the flavours were amazing. Followed by the cheek, not sure what cheek exactly but it was delicious 😋. Both dishes came out hot too. I highly recommend.

Great and delicious food! We had ratatouille, cauliflower with tomato sauce, fried Camembert cheese and patates bravas as well as tarte tatin, chocolate foundant and New York cheesecake. I would like to come back definitely!

OMG I loved this place. Cool spot down an alley, kimchi cauliflower was absolutely amazing, and the short rib was so tender and delicious. Super fun atmosphere and fantastically friendly staff, this might be my favorite place I ate in all of Barcelona.

Food was great, and I want to come back to try many other menu items. Service was great and staff were friendly.

I’ve been twice now and have no notes! Delicious and creative Spanish food, friendly staff that speak English and are happy to let you practice Spanish if you want, cozy and stylish interior and breezy patio. Fall update: still perfect, and with some Asian-inspired dishes added to the lunch menu.
