Would recommend eating here. Beautiful restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Friendly service. Our meal was delicious! The steak was of good quality and well prepared. We were surprised with the high prices for all drinks.

Me and my wife visited this restaurant in late August 2025. The restaurant is very charming with a tasteful interior design. You feel very comfortable here as soon as you enter. The service is extremely attentive and very friendly, which definitely adds to the pleasant atmosphere. The food was superb. I had one of the best steaks I have ever tasted yet. The salsa "Huacatay" was delicious as well. Additionally you get two extra spicy salsas that pair perfectly with the main sauce. My wife had a pasta and it was perfect as well. Obviously the prices here are higher than in most other places in town. Considering the quality of food and the excellent preparation this appears absolutely justified. However, what bugged me were the prices for drinks. A small Cusqueña beer costs 15 Soles, which is just silly in my opinion. The wine appears to be a bit more reasonable, but you are still going to pay 90 Soles for a wine that costs 45 in the supermarket. I also did not appreciate that the waiter actively asked me, if I want to give a tip - this is just not common in Peru, but I guess here they have adapted to European/North American customers. So if you have a few more Soles to spare, definitely try this place - the food is worth it!

We arrived at El Cellar not feeling very hungry and just ordered several plates of Abre de Bocas - and they were incredible. The lomo and mushroom 'ceviches' were some of the best things we have eaten in Peru! The service was flawless and the drinks were delicious. Loved sitting out on the balcony watching the evening action in Trujillo. We will have to return!

We ate here for our anniversary dinner with friends who recommended it and the food was outstanding! The service was also amazing. The restaurant is cozy and familiar. They also have a fantastic wine selection! We will for sure be back when we return to Trujillo ❤️❤️❤️

We ate here on April 27th, 2024 and I thought the food was just as good as anything I had in Lima. In fact, it was the best food I had on our long 1,800 mile trip from Lima to Northern Peru, into the Amazon and back. I wish I could remember the name of our server but I can't. She was very friendly, spoke English nicely to us Americans even though one of us can speak Spanish. She gave great recommendations and was very attentive. The manager, cook, everyone in the restaurant was very welcoming to us, even though were dressed down due to having been out in the hot desert all day looking at ruins. I'm still thinking about the steak I had. We opted to eat out on the wrap around balcony but there was plenty of seating inside. We got there by chance as soon as they opened for dinner and there was plenty of seating but by the time we left the restaurant was filling up. I would have definitely eaten there again if we'd been in town longer.

Went here for dinner and it’s a lovely old world type Restaurant upstairs. The styling is rustic and nice tables out on the balcony too. The staff were delightful and so happy and eager to help, particularly when I was difficult about my order. They adapted to please. The steak was top notch. It’s fairly pricy (western prices).

My husband and I were looking for a change of pace after 10 days of traditional Peruvian cuisine. This restaurant checked all our boxes. We sat in the terrace which reminded us of the wraparound terraces in New Orleans. Our server, Mirco, made suggestions for our entire menu. We started with cocktails and the cebiche rojo which was a tender beef tenderloin ceviche. Absolutely scrumptious. For our mains, we shared the pisco flambeed beef tenderloin (lomo fino flambeado al pisco) with snow peas, broccoli and crispy roasted potatoes and the beef tenderloin with a huacatay cream sauce and crisp potatoes, a cross between a tater tot and a crispy hashbrown (lomo fino en salsa huacatay). The beef was so tender and delicious. We live in NYC and you can't get beef tenderloin like this unless you go to a top steakhouse, but it would cost 3-4X. For our dessert, we had the apple crepes. I highly recommend this restaurant. It's a gem. The service and atmosphere were perfect.

This place absolutely lives up to the hype. Wonderful balcony seating and amazing food and drinks. Recommend the steaks (best I’ve had in peru) and pasta huancaino with limo.
