El Charro Restaurant

My Dominican wife and I have tried almost every Hispanic restaurant on Long Island. We love authentic Mexican, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Colombian, Dominican, Puerto Rican, all types of real Hispanic food. The food from this place is absolutely unbelievable. The el pastor taco was enough to make me close my eyes and block out the world. It was by far the most amazing taco I’ve ever had in my life. The octopus was also out of this world. The flavor and portions are unmatchable. I can’t say enough about how good this food is. You would never know it, hidden in this location. I swear on everything I almost got emotional eating this taco.

Will never forget how I asked clearly for lemon with water and received a huge lemonade for $6 . Nice one haha

Beautiful restaurant, the food absolutely great, tastes very authentic restaurant feels like being in Mexico 🇲🇽, the music, the drinks. T-bone steak 🥩 recommended and the grill chicken breast.. absolutely amazing place worthy trying for first time 🙏we will come back

Second time here. First was when they just opened so we figured we would give them another chance. The positive- very clean. Complimentary chips and salsa pretty good. Comically bad service. Had to ask for water multiple times, asked for cutlery multiple times- ended up getting up for it ourselves lol Ordered several dishes they were out of, but we were not informed of that until they delivered the food and we asked where the rest was. Tacos had little flavor, chicken was much too salty to really enjoy. I think if you are looking for a clean Hispanic bar this may be great, but if you are hungry go elsewhere.
