"El Chupacabra, South Lake Union by Wexley School For Girls. Grab a stiff drink and some classic Mexican fair at this South Lake Union location of a Greenwood classic. With an excellent selection of homemade hot sauces this restaurant is hard to beat."

A place with nice view and great food. This is my first visit and I love the place. Quantity of the food is good. They have a big seating area both inside and outside. View of south lake union is un-matched. I loved the ‘wet’ burrito and the small one was 10 inch in size. Parking is available at the plaza. There is hood vegetarian options as well. Dogs not allowed even for outside seating. Drinks menu is extensive. Margaritas are special here. Weekdays evening you don’t have to wait much for a table.

I tied my boat up at El Chupacabra and had a great Jalapeno Margarita, some happy hour nachos, and a chimichanga. There is a lot of sun when it is sunny, and the patio is good for people watching.

Pretty standard Americanized Mexican food. Salsa is not bad. Burrito is kind of bland. Drinks are pretty good. Location is the best part. Service was friendly and fast.

The fish wet burrito was delicious and my lovely server bought me a drink.

Nice location but the food and service were needing attention. We sat ourselves in this fairly empty restaurant for lunch and the table was super sticky. My napkin tore when I tried to pick it up. Our waitress was not freindly or welcoming and didn't want to be there. The food was just ok but I would certainly have expected better, authentic Mexican food, especially for the price and for what we had. Oh, I like ice water but I guess you have to ask for ice in your water when you order water.

This is an excellent place to have a party. The place is always festive with its colorful decor, and there are lots of options for seating large groups. It's right on the bank of South Lake Union, with an excellent view of the water. In cold weather they turn on the fireplace in the front lobby area, which makes a very inviting entrance where you can fully thaw before being seated. They have a variety of margaritas, and their menu features a lineup of Mexican food favorites, almost all of which have the option to substitute vegan cheese and vegan meat alternatives if desired. They also have quite a selection of hot sauces to suit your liking. The service is great and the food is tasty. Getting into the parking lot can take some getting used to, what with downtown traffic blocking the driveway sometimes, but don't let that stop you. It's worth it!

Overall, this is a nice place to drop in for authentic Mexican food. The salsa is legit, great fish burritos, and fair pourings of bar drinks. My only complaint is that the environment is typically too loud for a comfortable date. It is at no fault of the restaurant - it is just a lot of people in a fairly small space.
