We loved our stay here! It’s such a beautiful and unique style hotel with a prime location and the restaurant connected is fantastic. The suite was spacious and we loved the kitchenette and the pullout couch. The only downside is we didn’t realize how to turn on the heat, that there was an on button in addition to setting the temperature. So the kids were a little cold overnight. Parking was also tricky at times but we preferred to do the free street parking instead of paying. Service was fantastic though and we would love to stay here again.

Booked as a last minute staycation to look at Xmas lights at Hotel Del Coronado. First, property location was perfect right across the street. Upon arrival, staff said hotel parking full even to hotel guests and their only suggestion was to drive around to find street parking. (Which took over 30 minutes due to holiday crowds.) When booked, accommodations advertised parking offered. Hotel front desk less than helpful and clueless to any other options. I booker 2 bedroom suite, power outlets in master/bath didn’t work, bathroom fixtures falling off the walls, and the only saving grace was room clean. The worst part of the property experience was the incredibly loud cleaning, hammering, banging and non-stop noise from literally 345a to 9a despite several attempts by me to ask hotel staff (and my own yelling out the window) to quiet the banging and noise. Apparently, the middle of the night in an open courtyard is the preferred staff maintenance time with complete disregard to hotel guests in rooms less than 20 feet away. If location is a priority, it’s hard to beat. But I strongly suggest ear protection, genuine patience, and to be prepared for any concerns to be completely ignored and unresolved by incompetent staff who clearly skipped customer service class. This has such potential to be a gem in Coronado. Let’s hope they get their act together.

Nice staff. Great location comfy beds. It’s got a lot of charm and it was a awesome stay and hotel experience! Free coffee in the lobby and nice little pool! You could walk everywhere in Coronado and there was nice seating areas in the courtyard. We stayed in a apartment with a little kitchen which is great if you want to make your own food and dinner. Would stay again!

The cutest little quaint hotel! We booked the 1 bedroom suite for my husband and I. Tons of space, we had friends over for drinks before we went to dinner. It’s definitely dated but clean and nice. We would stay here again and look forward to visiting in the summer! We took a walk on the beach in the morning and had brunch at The Henry.

My wife and I got the room for a night so I can go to my company's Christmas Party. When I arrived the person at the front counter informed me I had to wait 26-27 minutes until he got off his break for me to check-in. This caused us to be late for the party. ||Then I am charged $40 to park 2 blocks away. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor. The layout of the hotel is confusing and the front desk was no help. My wife had to force the man there to help her find the room while I was parking the car.||The room was not what I thought. Shower was small and dirty. The bed felt like sleeping on a slab of concrete. I got up in the middle of the night to be greeted by a surprise roommate in the tub. Nice size spider just chillin, doing laps in the tub. They had only few power outlets. Most were covered with blank-off panels. ||The wifi did work well and the refrigerator kept my drinks cold so I will give them that. ||Lastly, the fan that was connected to the light in the bathroom had a red light that came on when you powered it up. With everything I wouldn't have been surprised if it was a camera. I removed the cover and everything to verify it wasn't but it still bothered my wife so she used the bathroom with no light on. Never again. I will make sure I stick with hotels I know.

Google
Great location right across from the Del and near many good restaurants. Lots of space. Our only complaint was that the heat did not work so it was cold especially at night. Overall it worked well for us. Staff were very nice. Morning coffee was available.

Great location! Walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. The hotel was unique in its style incorporating restaurants and shops within a Spanish style courtyard. The original room we were given was very cozy and comfortable, however when the door lock mechanism broke down they placed us in a room across the hall. Sadly, this was a downgrade. Where the original room faced the courtyard and had views of the trees, flowers and Christmas lights, the downgrade room faced the alley with garbage trucks that woke you up early in the morning and that’s if you were able to get some shut eye with the street lights illuminating your room at night. I recommend the hotel but make sure your room doesn’t face the alley.

The beds are so comfortable, you don't even feel the other person turnover. If you book try booking a suite as they come w/ a kitchen, actual livingroom with a sofa bed. The staff if very nice, and everything is so close. The hotel also has two of their own restaurants to choose from. Close to the beach and across from the Del.

Yelp
During our recent stay at the El Cordova Hotel, we were thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by the manager, Danny, and his attentive staff. From the moment we arrived, Danny made it his mission to ensure our experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Each time we passed him in the hotel, Danny greeted us warmly and inquired if there was anything we needed, showcasing his remarkable customer service skills. His genuine attentiveness and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident throughout our stay. The rest of the staff mirrored this high standard of service, contributing to a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The rooms were impeccably clean, reflecting the hotel's commitment to maintaining a pristine environment for its guests. We were so pleased with our experience that we decided to extend our stay by an additional night. 10/10 would recommend and I'd personally do it again!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had lunch today in Coronado to celebrate the new year. We stopped in at El Cordova hotel. Absolutely gorgeous very homing. The we planning a girls get away. The young man at the front counter Had great customer service.

Yelp
Great location. Metric buttload of things to walk to - beach, awesome restaurants, cool shops Bed was comfy, amazingly quiet, felt like a villa.

Jack H.

Yelp
We had an amazing time. Prices were right and affordable compared to the rest of the island. Staff was very friendly. Derek was professional and accommodating. When we do visit Coronado again, El Cordova will be the place we stay. Thank you again for making memories.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed over the Memorial Day weekend and we really liked the Spanish themed rooms. The hotel is in a great location with a ton of shops and food in walking distance. We did have trouble with some appliances with our room but the manager understood and we were compensated for the inconvenience. The staff was very friendly and helpful the entire time. The restaurant Miguel's does start setting up at 7am so be prepared to wake up around that time. Overall a great stay and we will be back.

Phil A.

Yelp
This is a great hotel!! Centrally located on Coronado Island, this old style Spanish themed hotel has lot to offer! The room we had was like a 2 bedroom house, with a full kitchen, dining room, and living room. Each bedroom had its own fully stocked bathroom as well as huge walk-in closets. The living room and bedrooms had big screen TVs, and the kitchen had a gas stove, refrigerator, microwave along with cabinets full of all the dishes you need. The location was great, with only 5 minute walk to the beach and many restaurants within walking distance also. And if you don't want to leave to eat, Miguels Cocina is the restaurant in the hotel, and their food is very good and popular. The only thing not great is parking, they have a garage a few blocks away where you park at, but given how great this hotel is, that's small potatoes!!

Annie D.

Yelp
My partner and I had the opportunity to stay 2 nights at the charming El Cordova Hotel on Coronado Island. This historic landmark is perfectly centralized within walking distance to 5 star restaurants, beaches and scenic landscapes. Although this unique Mediterranean boutique hotel is placed in the heart of Coronado, it somehow remains quiet and tranquil with immaculate landscaping, beautiful fountains and quart yards. At check in, I was greeted by hotel manager Derrick, who personally made sure our stay was memorable. He anticipated every need we may have with refined touches and professionalism. The alluring El Cordova Hotel left an impression and hopefully will become a tradition, as it provided an unforgettable experience for my love and I.

Dianne H.

Yelp
Cancelled our reservation so they could book at higher rates. Price gouging at its finest.

Melissa C.

Yelp
Key note: Noise. If you are hoping to explore during the day, eat good food, and enjoy a drink at the end of the night, this hotel is a prime location to enjoy Coronado. However, if you expect a good night sleep to recharge, this is not the place. The walls do not absorb any sound and you can hear everything going on around you and we were woken up multiple times throughout the night. It also surrounds Miguel's Restaurant which starts setting up at 7:00AM, so expect your alarm to be moving chairs and banging pans. Definitely a missed opportunity for a hotel, it has potential just not an ideal hotel for a vacation.

Lindsay C.

Yelp
The previous manager's response to both mine and my fiancée's recounting of the events with Mauricio are both false and highly insulting. We were falsely accused of wrongdoing (as we were obviously not the perpetrators of the loud and drunken yelling, since we were ASLEEP). As mentioned by many previous guests, the walls are paper thin. Maybe what we thought was a perfectly reasonable volume to be watching TV at night was not acceptable to a neighbor (there was an elderly lady next door), but it was certainly not at a volume that would be unacceptable at any other hotel with normal walls. We didn't complain about the ladies across the hall from us who were on a bachelorette weekend and clearly having the time for their lives, because we respected their right to have a good time. So we turned on our TV to drown out their party and went to sleep. Maricio banged on our door and woke us up, and then left and proceeded to call us and yelled at us and then got into a verbal altercation with my companion when he denied the wrongdoing. Do you like being falsely accused of yelling and making a ruckus when you're asleep? We certainly didn't appreciate it. While hotel staff do not deserve to be treated unfairly by customers, customers equally do not deserve to be mistreated by staff and then lied about to their managers.

Fran D.

Yelp
very concerning soundproofing issues between rooms. I stayed in a King Suite room #47 and was welcomed with both the sounds of the unit below and beside mine - I could hear unit below and besides mine. I shouldn't be able to hear snoring below my bed!!! or sex if others in the adjacent room. Also parking is a bit of a walk a couple blocks away, is limited and they charge 40$ a day. enjoy!

John G.

Yelp
Excellent location but the rooms are lacking in pretty much every way. On the positive side, the room was clean. On the negative side, the wall HVAC system is unusable while sleeping unless you can sleep through anything. It kicks on and off which is to be expected, but when kicking on it was so loud, I thought I was on an Afghanistan tour of duty. The shower is so small, it's basically unusable. And the shower nozzle was no higher than my chest. So I had to take a second shower when getting home to rinse off all the soap. It's probably the smallest bathroom I have ever seen. And the toilet seat is so low, I thought I was in China. The parking is less than desirable. I'll spear you the details and summarize by saying bring your walking shoes. Ending on a positive note, the staff is very helpful and very responsive. They text and respond to texts very quickly.

D C.

Yelp
Well, rooms are great, but please get your fire pits working. It's cold outside! We wanted to sit out and enjoy our drinks, but to cold!

Jennifer A.

Yelp
I stayed here for my time share and it was a wonderful staycation, the staff was really nice and did me a solid, we stayed at another hotel and check out was at 11 am I asked if we could check in early cause check in was at 3 pm and they let me check In at 10:30 am so I can get ready for the wedding I was going to attend. The front desk was sweet and gave us snacks and bottle water, they walked us to our room. My room was A one bedroom suite with a kitchenette so a full fridge and a small stove, we had a king bed and a bathroom with a tub And shower. He bed was comfortable and we were Across from the pool, the only thing wish this place had a bigger pool and a gym, but we Are at Coronado so we Just walked the beach, we will be coming back again .

Allison L.

Yelp
Love this hotel we stayed in the one bedroom suite. It was so cute and very clean. Stocked with everything you need in the kitchen bathroom etc. close to everything. Restaurants, shops, hotel del and the beach 2 minute walk. I highly recommend. The only thing bad we stayed on the first floor the kids running around upstairs were very loud we could hear them running around. Amanda at the front desk was great. Very helpful.

Mark M.

Yelp
The best place to stay in Coronado. Period. Close to everything with fantastic dining, shopping and the beach(!) in easy walking distance. The staff is beyond welcoming with attention to detail that cannot be beat. Ask for a room in the back; quiet and Cody with outstanding housekeeping. Get a parking pass and skip the street parking. We've stayed there three times in the past 2 years and already have another reservation for March. Go!

Yelp
The moment leisure stay occupancy was approved & announced by Governor Newsom, the hubby & I immediately begin researching the right spot to enjoy our Babymoon. Avid fans of San Diego, we opted to try something old but new, which landed us in Coronado Island. So the stay. Absolutely amazing! Customer service started off on the right foot prior to our check in, when we phoned just to see at what capacity El Cordova would operate in -- despite the Phase 2 of the pandemic, we wanted to confirm the pool and dining wouldn't be an issue. -Tim really assured us that all would be well AND he even graced us with a room upgrade once he heard we would be celebrating our "Babymoon" -- and mama-to-be is less than 4 weeks away. -Benny & Ivy, just exceptional at checking in with guest on their wants/needs AND they have great attitudes which goes a long away. The Room (#82) we adored. Wonderful Spanish touches with a comfortable bed. The kitchen was fully-equipped which made for refrigeration storage and microwave reheating if needed. For certain people who cannot handle outdoor sounds, this room might not be for you seeing as it is directly over the restaurant. This didn't bother us but if your looking to rest between 6p-10p, opt out. Regretfully we didn't get great weather this weekend, so though the pool was open we failed to venture down. After reading several reviews I was nervous about parking, but we easily found parking about .2 miles from hotel in residential area and didn't move the car until it was time to check out. Why!? No need to because this hotel is centrally located in the heart of the island -- restaurants, beach, etc. -- and if I can handle the walk, waddling & all, I'm confident most can to. So what's wrong with this place? Well if I'm forced to find an issue, I will say the only setback is the water temperature drops significantly when showering at the same time as another room/guest -- I only know this because when we got in, it was great (hot) BUT when I heard the water coming from our a neighboring room it cooled down. Bringing this to a close -- I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. If ever we get time away after the baby comes, we would certainly consider the Cordova Hotel.

L D.

Yelp
If I can put 0 stars, I would. The front desk guy (filipino, tons of makeup) was sooooo RUDE to customers. I watched his entitled attitude displayed with people. I approached him upon arrival trying to locate a restaurant, and he immediately had attitude and treated me like I was so far beneath him. Shame on El Cordova to have someone so demeaning and rude and entitled working the front desk at a heavy tourist spot. Yuck. That guy should be fired. And I am Filipino and he was even rude to his own peeps. Shame on you. I am embarrassed to say we are the same race.

Emile K.

Yelp
We were in SD for a few days and decided to get out of our Airbnb because the bed was awful. This place is beautiful with Spanish/Mexican tiles everywhere. Centrally located with a broad load of restaurants and bars all the way around and the beach is less than a 5 min walk (if you can make it across the street). The beds and pillows were very comfortable. the room is small but very nice. The bathroom is smaller than anything you would find in a Tokyo hotel but tile work is so beautiful you will not notice the size. Staff were also very friendly. Honestly, for the price, I am not sure I have ever stayed at a better hotel in a tourist town.

Craig S.

Yelp
What a fantastic hotel. Close to everything. Rooms are remodeled and very comfortable. Derek at the Front Desk was amazing and accommodating. Would recommend time and time again.

Melissa B.

Yelp
Cute quaint hotel that offers rooms with kitchen and living room. Despite the old building the hotel was spotless. The bed was too hard for my liking but would not stop me from coming back. Location was perfect to walk to restaurants and coffee. The staff was always here to help with every request. We like to find places that have a kitchen so we can make coffee or eat in for meals if we choose. The kitchen meet all our needs and if there was something we needed the staff came to our rescue.

Chris H.

Yelp
Staff is nice. Location is amazing. Right across the street from the Hotel Del. Lots of restaurants nearby. We had a two bedroom suite. Strange design, you had to go through a bedroom to use the bathroom. So if someone's sleeping in the bedroom you've goto to sneak by them to get to the bathroom. Nice furnishings. Kitchen had pots & pans. No dishwasher. TV in every room. Disney channel & HBO. Our hotel room was above the mexican restaurant. It's loud up until midnight still. Heated pool is still pretty cold temperature wise. Hot tub is hot. Street parking is no big deal unless it's dinnertime. During the day there's 2 hour street parking nearby and residential parking as close as the offiste hotel pay parking. Around dinnertime it took me 15 minutes to find parking. You decide if it's worth paying for parking. We had a good stay.

Virginia K.

Yelp
If you make a reservation here, MAKE SURE TO NOT GET ROOM 117!!! This room is so small it can only fit a bed and night stands. No desk or even a chair. I am here on a business trip yet have nowhere to work :( No counter in the bathroom to put your toiletries and no big person is going to be able to comfortably take a shower. It's almost as small as an RV shower. The walls are so thin that I am laying in bed right now listening to the movie playing in the next room. Also know that there are no elevators, so pack light! Great location and nice staff, but uncomfortable accommodations.

Shawna H.

Yelp
I don't know where to start. Have so many amazing things to say about El Cordova. The staff is so accommodating and the premises are spotless. Thank you to the lady who keeps the pool w clean towels and the people who check you in to make you feel at home. My husband and family have been coming to Coronado for 25 years. Who knew this gem was wonderful. The location! Wow! We had a two bedroom suite and booked our next time here a year in advance. In fact. This is our home away from home. Bravo El Cordova!

Michelle M.

Yelp
Edit: dear owner, thank you for your response. I'm sure you never intend to inconvenience your guests. And I don't fault you for not being able to get us into our room early, although it shouldn't normally be too difficult to get one clean room within an hour or so. But check in is at 4 and when we came back at that time we were told 4:10. At 4:10 we were told our room was being cleaned right then and would be ready in 20 more minutes. 20 minutes later we were told it was being vacuumed, and 15 minutes after that we were finally given a room. for a 200 sq ft room this seems like an unreasonable amount of time to keep us waiting. Perhaps being told upfront that we'd be waiting an extra hour, and maybe given the complimentary appetizer at that point to go use during the delay would've helped. We've come to Coronado many times and consider it one of our go-to destinations. This year for our 24th wedding anniversary we booked a room here and we're excited to try it out. We have previously stayed at The Glorietta Bay, Coronado Beach Club, and the La Avaneda Inn. We love Miguel's Restaurant and have been in this lobby many times and always wanted to stay here. I very much wish we hadn't. While the staff at the front desk have been friendly, we have been waiting for our room for almost three hours due to one of their housekeepers leaving early. We arrived a couple hours early, before check-in time, but they weren't ready for us even 45 minutes after they said they would be. We keep hearing the housekeeper is "in there now" and should be done "in twenty minutes." The lobby bathroom floor is covered in water too. Okay, we have now been "upgraded" to a room... overlooking the busy restaurant! I like meeting new people, but I don't want them joining me in my bedroom on my anniversary. A lot of conversations and rattling of dishes are carrying through our walls. This is the least romantic anniversary we've had, and seeing as how we only planned a one-night getaway, we're barely going to have time to enjoy anything. I'm very upset because I feel like our anniversary plans completely backfired and you can't get that back. The "delux" room itself is small and plain. It's more of a motel than a hotel. I'm afraid to know what the non-upgraded room would've looked like. On the plus side, we get to go home tomorrow to a larger bedroom and only three kids' voices on the other side of the wall rather than a whole communities' kids. Next year is 25, we definitely plan to do better. At least we get a free appetizer at the Brigantine.

Steve M.

Yelp
Hotel room was very nice and the restaurants were great. However I woke up the next morning with eight bug bites. The property has no parking on site but shares with the bank of America around the block. The property charges 40 dollars per night with no security. Upon checkout there was an 80 dollar charge per room for incidentals in which we didn't have . Front desk couldn't break down what the charges were. It was Hotel Policy, Next year we will be staying elsewhere.

angela l.

Yelp
We booked 3 nights stay through RCI. The hotel complex is colorful and pleasant. We saw many young families enjoyed the pool and spa. Our room was on second floor facing the pool, but the noise level was always acceptable to us. Our room was comfortable. The staff was great! The best is the location of this hotel-right on the busiest corner of Orange Ave. which offers many restaurants, shops, grocery, drug store....and the residential houses are such a joy to stroll around to enjoy the nice beautiful gardens and architecture. It is also an easy walk to the ferry port area. We had a wonderful time and love to come back to visit!

Holly R.

Yelp
This is hands down, THE BEST hotel to stay at when I am visiting San Diego! I stayed here for a wedding last October, then again for my anniversary. I have never had any issues with staff and the rooms are clean. I love the little Mexican restaurant they have in the courtyard. You must try their margaritas! It is located in a little nice shopping area full of dining as well if you want to go for a walk. Will be back for sure!

Burt J.

Yelp
We were here for my wife's 71st birthday, so they upgraded us to a suite. The staff was polite and attentive. The room was immaculate and huge (it was a suite, after all). The location was great, with lots of shops, restaurants and beach in easy walking distance.

Eric L.

Yelp
My family made booking a suite at El Cordova an annual thing since finding it several years ago. The property, the staff, the rooms, the price -- everything was great and there was no reason to stay elsewhere. This past Thanksgiving our experience was quite the opposite. Hot tub was broken (and had been for a long time) but they didn't notify us in advance as other hotels do. We had a cockroach in our kitchen, told the front desk and they were rude and did nothing. Beds were uncomfortable. Kitchen was understocked. I wrote to the manager after to provide our report and he offered a free night's stay, which we accepted, but a certificate wasn't provided and he's been ignoring our attempts at communication ever since. Truly one of the worst overall experiences we've had in years. We'll never go here again and we've been telling all our friends to avoid it. We'd even sent out texts and emails specifically to recommend and help promote this place. Shame, because we loved and looked forward to staying here.

Michelle B.

Yelp
Great location. Very close to everything. It is a historic property so wall are very thin and loud due to restaurant below. To be expected.

Julie S.

Yelp
THE BEST SMALL WEDDING HOTEL IN ALL OF SAN DIEGO!!! If you are looking to keep your guests together in one ultra charming space, in the most beautiful location in Coronado, this is it!!! This historic hotel has been recently remodeled throughout and the immaculate rooms are absolutely delightful, and surround a wonderful Spanish courtyard. Having stayed in the El Cordova several times, we knew it would make a great choice as our destination wedding hotel, as it is also reasonably priced, and we could not have been happier. We booked about 25 rooms (in 2019) for the summer of 2020, but had to change the date multiple times because of the Covid pandemic. We were finally able to celebrate our daughter and son-in-law's wedding in November of 2021. Over the course of 2 years, the hotel worked with our changing dates, and were patient, friendly, and encouraging throughout. A big shout out to the manager, Tim, and his staff, Benny and Ivy, who all worked with us to accommodate the many details and kept us all organized for 2 full years! They were all such a pleasure to work with, along with the rest of the El Cordova staff. We received many, many compliments from our guests, who came from all over the country, and very much appreciated our hotel choice. They especially enjoyed the close knit feel of the small hotel, where they could easily gather, eat in the restaurant, and meet up in the beautiful courtyard. For our celebration, we also booked the stunning Casa Grande Suite (with a full kitchen) and the guest rooms in a private section. This was the best idea ever as it became the Wedding Hospitality Room, where we had the rehearsal dinner, welcome reception, and day after brunch. The space was also used for all the girls to get ready in! The Casa Grande Suite served as the perfect gathering place where we all spent many hours together getting ready, and celebrating life and love with the bride & groom. It is a great entertaining space and we also appreciated using the television for our photo slide show. Having the Casa Grande Suite and private section made our choice to book the El Cordova just perfect! So now we have just the memories, but they will last a lifetime and we thank everyone at the El Cordova Hotel for being such a special part of our wedding weekend! From the Sanchez & Keneally Family, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

Susie S.

Yelp
Mexican style hotel complete with tiled patio. On-site Miguel's restaurant is outstanding. Kids loved their time in the pool and hot tub, but the best part was the short walk to the amazing Coronado beach. We took a couple hotel beach chairs to add to our own and had fun in the surf. Our two bedroom unit was very spacious (except small bathrooms) with a good working kitchen and nice living space. Main attribute: 100% friendly and helpful staff! Thanks

Cindy P.

Yelp
Completely impressed with everything about this hotel! We checked in with a very friendly, helpful and welcoming front staff that made sure we had everything we needed and then some. Front desk sets the tone and he set a very good tone! We stayed in room 53, right off the beautiful courtyard and just steps from the pool. It was very clean, smelled fresh and nicely decorated. We were in a suite with a kitchenette, living room and separate bedroom, wonderfully spacious and well stocked. The linens were crisp and clean every day and they even did our dishes! During the day and evening it's busy with the attached restaurant and the smell of fresh corn tortillas tantalizing us and we loved it! The courtyard has grills for guests to use, plenty of tables with umbrellas to sit under and enjoy the fountain. The pool was cleaned every morning and tended to throughout the day and the hot tub was a welcome relief after our daily adventures! Some rooms may be a little louder than others due to location but you can't beat the staff, cleanliness and comfort, hands down best there is!

Yelp
We went on a short vacation over to Coronado CA. for my Birthday, we stayed at El Cordova for 3 nights, we had an issue with the shower so we let them know, it was a little more then expected so they placed us is a suite for the remainder of our stay, all of the staff that helped us was really great, starting with Omar he offered to move all of our stuff the the other room and then Benny Castillo the manager was excellent, he made sure it all went smoothly and it did. I can't say enough about these people, We will be back for sure maybe just pop in to say hi! Thank you all of you at El Cordova see you next time!

Sammy G.

Yelp
We love this little gem tucked in the Coronado area. This is our second visit and it hasn't disappointed! The front desk was awesome as always. We were escaping a roach infested hotel and called El Cordova and we're lucky to get a room last minute on a holiday weekend. The dining nearby is all walking distance from the hotel. We feel safe and right at home with the cozy room and decor. We are so very pleased with our second stay and will be back and refer friends and family. Love this place!

Yelp
Charming, clean, new beds, and the staff was amazing. Quiet, parking and Miguel's for dinner! What else is there to say?

Stephen P.

Yelp
This is my family's "go to" hotel on Coronado. We have spent many happy summer holidays here. The location is ideal. The renovations have made everything nicer and more comfortable (especially the bedding). The staff is professional, courteous and accommodating. You can get everywhere, including the beach, by walking a few blocks. Like everywhere on Coronado, you will have a hard time with parking, so pay the extra money and get the offsite parking in the Bank of America building. The only word of caution is don't stay in Room #3. It is right over the restaurant, and it is incredibly noisy. You won't get any sleep. Every other room is great. Try to get one with a kitchenette.

Shanelle S.

Yelp
I stayed here with the fam over Easter weekend. It's a charming hotel located in a complex where there's other shops as well as a popular local restaurant (Miguel's). This means that it's quite noisy at night but it's manageable for deep sleepers. They don't have parking lot so you either have to park on the side with metered parking or in the back where the residential neighborhoods are. It's two-hour parking from 8am-6pm on certain blocks so just be mindful of reading the signs. The room we stayed in had one king bed and a pull out mattress in the living room. The bathroom set-up was a bit weird because the toilet was in a separate room from the shower but both the rooms had sinks and it works out if one person needs to shower while a different person can use the toilet. The shower reminded me a bit of a gym shower in that there was no tub but rather was a wide expanse of tile. Be sure to angle to detachable shower head towards the inside part of the shower otherwise water splashes in the entire room and it's easy to slip. The hotel was in a great location. It was across the street from the Hotel Del Coronado and a couple blocks from the park, where there's a trail you can run through past the naval base. The beach is also close by, and you're near other restaurants. You don't need to walk very far to the Main Street of town but it's also fun to walk in the neighborhoods of Coronado and see all the cute little houses. Housekeeping was friendly and when we checked in, they gave us a little goodie bag with two water bottles and two granola bars. The decor was Spanish themed as evidenced through the paintings of brightly colored items and the Spanish-style tile. Very cozy but charming Tdlr; solid hotel in a great location. Good place for families to stay although you may want to request an upstairs room to avoid the noises from the restaurant should you be a light sleeper.

Yelp
We have stayed here a few times and it never disappoints! It's just the right distance to the beach and has a lot of dining and shopping nearby. We had the casa grande suite and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yelp
Horrible experience! Stayed there for one night with my son who was visiting me from the Air Force. Drove to Coronado Island from Mesa AZ for a one night stay. First, the tv was working and they had to send someone to fix it. Two, the temp in the room was barley 65 because both heater didn't work and we froze all night. Third, there was a huge fight in the room under ours and we couldn't sleep all night because all the yelling and screaming, we honestly thought someone is going to die. Called the front desk in the morning as the fight was still going on and they couldn't find where all the screaming was coming from! When I checked out I was expecting some kind of discount or a comp or something, I was offered nothing. I spent $350 for one miserable night. No recommendation from me for sure!

Yelp
We are in love with this hotel! We checked out of a very upscale hotel near the Gaslamp where we were attending a business event and transferred to El Cordova for a weekend getaway. El Cordova is a perfect boutique hotel with a hacienda feel. Our room was at the top of a steep staircase with Mexican tile. The room was renovated without losing the warm feel. We loved the old tile and solid wood doors. The bathroom was very small, but everything was super clean. Every single employee went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We loved the beautiful quaint courtyard and stayed beside the fire pit each night.

Yelp
Arrived at 3pm, room is situated on a courtyard with an active restaurant- noise level is very loud and you can hear all the multiple conversations of the restaurant patrons along with a constant music behind it until 9:30pm. Room was moved to a quieter side of the courtyard. Much improved and now we can enjoy how wonderful this hotel is! Beautiful pool, courtyard and amenities. Rooms are a lovely mix of old style and modern.

Yelp
I love this hotel! It is nestled right in the middle of the main drag and a block from the beach. This place has the feel of a rustic Spanish villa. Our right night there, we stayed in room 85 which had a nice spacious apartment with full kitchen, dining room filled with beautiful decorative plates and a fun rounded balcony with views of the lush and enviting courtyard in back of Miguel's Cocina, a delicious smelling restaurant. We took a dip in the hot tub and it was very relaxing. The front desk gave us coupons for Fabrison's Creperie and also gave us a tour of their best room 86 and we loved it so much, we upgraded for our 2nd night. Room 86 overlooks the main steet w awesome views of the sunset. The main room is huge w a big dining area. There are 2 bedrooms and a beautiful bathroom w shower and even a clawfoot tub. We bought a sweatshirt at the San Diego Trading Co. And they gave us a coupon for a complimentary appetizer at Miguel's or Brigantine...all located along the Hotel's front. This place has been such a pleasure to stay and hang out at. Erin at the front desk was aslo very kind and accommodating towards any of our needs the second day. We will definately be back next time we visit Coronado!

Yelp
We had an amazing romantic get away @ El Cordova. The room (suite 86) was palatial! So beautiful and with a great balcony with a sunset view. Even a full kitchen with a refrigerator, oven & cook top. Can't say enough good things about the staff, they're super friendly & accommodating. They guided us to all the best restaurants and activities for our multi-day stay. They were also super helpful with where to get the best massages and a good salon for a wash and flat-iron for the lady. Erin & Hanna: you guys keep up the amazing work! The rooms are massive and gorgeously appointed with furniture and decorations. The hot tub was clean and comfy, the pool is small but charming. I highly recommend you book your next vacation here!

Yelp
The hotel was nice and had good amenities. I stayed here for my dads wedding along with my brothers. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were pretty clean. Biggest issue is finding parking anywhere and you have to pay 40$ just to park in the cordova parking garage that is a 5 minute walk away from hotel. Also the loud noises in the morning are terrible. The kitchen area or housekeeping is so loud outside you can't sleep in. Overall, not a bad experience but wouldn't want to stay again

Yelp
Truly one of the best experiences I've ever had! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a little farewell one-night stay before I left the country for a month. We checked in on around 7pm on a Tuesday and the front desk was outstandingly polite. He made everything hassle-free and was extremely nice. So nice that my boyfriend and I tried to find an ATM to get cash out to tip him, but by the time we located one the overnight shift person had come in. Aside from the staff going out of their way to make sure our weekend was special, the room was so lovely. It was clean, spacious, and downright authentic. I felt like we were staying in Spain! The details that they put in the rooms to make you feel like you're transported to a resort are impeccable. The TVs were amazing! The water pressure was perfect. They had the perfect amount of towels for two people to take into consideration that most of us women need an extra for our hair. The balcony was so adorable! It was a great view of Orange avenue. It was truly one of the most romantic nights hat I've ever had. This is my second stay here and it will always hold a special place in my heart with how wonderful the experience has been.

Yelp
This hotel was absolutely perfect after a week exploring So Cal. The customer service attendant was so kind and walked us to our room as soon as we checked in. It was so clean and just a quick block from the beach!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I just spent the weekend at this lovely hotel! The ambiance is darling and from Check in to check out the answer was always yes!!! The whole staff was so accommodating in every way! They even offer chairs, umbrellas and towels to take to the beach. We ate at both restaurants on site and really enjoyed them both! The pricing on food and alcohol was very reasonable considering the location. The pitcher of ultimate margaritas is a must! We will definitely be back and would recommend this hotel to everyone! Customer service was an A+!
