El Embajador, a Royal Hideaway Hotel

This hotel offered a comfortable and spacious room. The staff were very pleasant and attentive to your needs as you entered the hotel especially Roman who assisted in any way that he could. Special mention to Marleny at the desk in the lounge who was very welcoming and cheerful with each encounter.

It seems like a very nice hotel but they could have handled canceling my booking in a more professional way. They canceled my booking (which was booked directly with them) while we were traveling to Santo Domingo (almost no notice) citing a 'price error' and then still charged me for the room. Trying to get the refund back, expected it to be handled better considering its a 5 star. You could've honored the booking or provided a voucher or something considering the short notice. You also need to give me my refund.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my partner. The reason why we stayed here was because we stayed at a Barcelo property in Jakarta, Indonesia and their breakfast was outstanding. We were expecting something similar at this property, however, the breakfast food was average and nothing to brag about. The building is old, I’d say circa 1950s. There are water damages on the lobby entrance. Although our room was large and comfortable, the night stand lights were not working. I let management know TWICE about it and nothing was done. They told me someone would be up to fix it and nothing happened. Some of the staff is not as friendly as others. Location is central but there are other hotels just as central so if you can stay somewhere else to do. I will not be staying here when I come to the island to visit relatives.

I had the best time. Very relaxing and accommodating. The massage is a must and the rooms are so chic and well designed.

The hotel has very good customer service experience. We will like to recommend and recognize Nery, Keidy, Leslie and Jacinto, besides Stevenson and the rest of the group that always serve us with gratitude, respect and appreciation.

It's a huge hotel in the Piatini area, very busy, and yet it feels secluded. However, because of it's size and the number of people coming and going it feels very cramped and crowded and bustling. Everywhere on the grounds things are set up with posters and pictures that make you feel like it's always got 5 or 6 conventions going. It's a luxurious hotel, lots of dining options and a nice pool, but it's a machine for conventions and conferences. If you're looking for something more intimate try elsewhere.

I left early because of federal government reasons and was not refunded the 2 days that I did not stay. I've called and spoken to someone over 30 times, and they all kept telling me that the reservation department is closed and to call back. I've done that 30 times, as mentioned, and still no answer. On top of that, I received a charge for over $215 and still have yet to know why.
