El Fant - Cafe & Bar

Had a fantastic brunch at El Fant. The cafe latte was rich, smooth and beautifully balanced! The xiaolongbao were truly impressive and far beyond my expectations. 皮薄、馅嫩、汤足！ The Qianlong cabbage was refreshing, gently sweet and tangy, with a subtle richness，perfect contrast to the dumplings! Warm, calm atmosphere with great attention to detail. A place where you can enjoy great food, great coffee, and slow down for a moment~ Highly recommended!

This rating is strictly based on coffee. We got a V60 pour over for one and it was a really nice pour. We chose an anaerobic Columbia. coffee from Ickpa roasters in Germany. They had Frukt coffee as well but we made the choose for this one. Barista seemed knowledgeable and the coffee was fantastic. Cosy atmosphere with lots of seating and free toilet. Somehow it’s attached to a children’s museum (I think)

This review is specifically about the "bolo bap" laskiaispulla served in February 2026. Can't really say anything about the service and atmosphere since I bought the bun as takeaway, so I will leave those categories at a neutral score. I'm really disappointed about this "bolo bao"-laskiaspulla and the owner should be embarrassed for selling this dry & stone-hard bun to anyone for 7€. I wouldn't even dare to give it away for free. First of all, the bun doesn't even look like real bolo bao (the famous Hongkong style pineapple bun). The bun looks like a store-bought dinner roll topped with bad cookie dough. The bun was hard and dry. This place posted a photo of this product on their Instagram and it doesn't look like the same thing. Their laskiaispulla was a complete rip-off, and I would not recommend it to anyone. Save your money and get a proper one elsewhere.

A decent café nearby the Senate Square, vibrant colours in the cafe offering coffees, matcha, and hojicha drinks 😋 The raspberry lemon cake is delicious, fillings are just nice and not too sweet. This cafe can be busy with tourists so prepared to wait for an available table.

One of the best cortado in Helsinki for me! The vegetarian eggplant arrabiata during lunch service was top notch as well! Overall great place to grab a coffee and some savoury/sweet bites.

A really nice place, I keep wanting to come back again and again. They have a great selection of drinks, including some you don’t find anywhere else in Helsinki, plus delicious cakes and pastries! I haven’t had the chance to try their savoury options during brunch yet, but I definitely will one day

It's not a good place for lunch or drinks. The food is snobbish and pretentious. It's expensive and doesn't have the best flavor or presentation. The blackberry pie is dry, the cheesecake is tiny and partially broken, the salmon bites are dry, and the one with avocado is pathetic. The orange juice comes from a Tetra Pak. My recommendation is to leave the museum and go to the Fazer, around the corner, or to the Roberts Cafe. The service is good, but I won’t come back just for a friendly hello. I need good coffee as well.

Amazing portobello toast. Grilled with cheese and sauce on really nice bread. Best toast I ever had. Amazing coffee too.

Legit cappuccinos and great service. Best cappuccino I had while in Helsinki. Cute ceramic cups and some tasty food options. Come here for third wave coffee.

El Fant has amazing service, food and coffee! I am a coffee snob and by far the best coffee in town! The breakfast food is healthy and well done! I loved this place so much came back for more! The mango chia pudding is to die for!
