El Fuerte Marbella

We only stay at 5 star Hotels for the quality of staff, food, facilities and cleanliness. This was our 4th trip this year and was by far an exceptional Hotel in every way possible and we would most definitely return. Great Gym and amazing outlook. Very pleasantly surprised with the exceptionally helpful staff with nothing at all being an issue. Great Selected area. Great position as well for the Town and Sea front walks.

This is our second time staying here and it didn't disappoint. The rooms are stunning and very clean, as are restaurants and pool area. The breakfast is especially 1st class and is one of the highlights of the stay. We also ate at restaurant's on the beach and main restaurant in hotel, food wonderful, however the service can be very slow even though there seems to be plenty of staff. Once you have an allocated waiter it does improve. Special shout out to Max, who was exceptional and a real credit to your hotel, friendly, attentive and a great sense of humour. The staff in this hotel are very good though and that applies to all staff, people attending the pool, cleaning the rooms, serving at breakfast etc they are all so polite and friendly. Love this hotel and we will be back.

After a difficult year, I visited Marbella for a few days at the beginning of September. I’d done quite a bit of research about where to stay and opted for Hotel El Fuerte Marbella on account of the views, its proximity to the beach and overwhelmingly positive reviews. I wasn’t disappointed.|This is a great hotel with fantastic facilities, service and food. Every member of staff was genuinely keen to make my stay as enjoyable as possible.|I chose a Selected Double Rm with front sea view which was exactly as described with a lovely view, excellent bath room (separate bath and shower) and great air con. |I didn’t want to move too far from hotel so went half board. El Fuerte offers numerous dining options and I enjoyed meals at Soleo (on the beach), Levante and Edge. All were very good with the latter just about - pardon the pun - edging it! Service was spot on, being attentive but not intrusive. As I was on HB, I had a €50 a night credit for meals which I thought was reasonable. Breakfast is served in Le Marche and provided a wide choice of high quality dishes. As a Select guest, one morning I experienced the Art of Breakfast (see hotel website for a video) which was amazing and would have fed a medium sized family. Another benefit of Select is access to a lounge and which provides free drinks and snacks until 9 The choice and quality of both were hard to fault.|Overall, I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Really excellent hotel on the sea front in Marbella. High standard fittings and furnishings throughout. Service was really good and effective, from Reception, to Housekeeping, the Concierge team who were responsive to requests both before and during our stay, and the terrific Breakfast team. Very much service with a smile across the board.||The Selected offering was worth the extra expense as it gave access to a separate breakfast area as well as a lounge area with snacks and drinks. If you can, go for a room with this add-on.||We had room 415, a large Junior Suite on the 4th floor. Wide ranging views with Gibraltar in the distance and the shimmering lights from the Moroccan coast at night. All the usual facilities.||Breakfast had a wide selection, constantly replenished and the surfaces cleaned, again always with a smile.||We ate twice at Soleo on the beach. The choices were pretty good, service also.||Only one or two gripes. There are insufficient sun loungers for all guests. There’s the usual crew who commandeer loungers and then go missing for the day. There is an informal system operated by the pool guys (30 minutes without use and your gear is removed), so be aware of this.||A couple of loungers on our room balcony would have been helpful, and there was plenty of space for this as well as the table and chairs.

Had the most amazing 4 night stay with my husband.|El Fuerto has it all. Such a stylish classy hotel.|We opted for sea view room. Was so lovely to be able sit out in the balcony and listen to it.|We opted for Select. Definitely worth the money.|Breakfast served until 1130. Stunning food. Such variety.|Plenty of sun loungers and very comfortable.|Bedrooms spotless and very comfortable.|Antonio great in lounge area.. had mishap of spilling glass of red wine on my husband’s white shirt. He immediately had this magic spray and saved shirt.|Will return.

Excellent Hotel with a fancy appearence. Even the entrance is gorgeous. What a nice welcome! They own an executive art gallary and several restaurants with great cuisine. The view from the rooftop is amazing by day and night. The hotel is very central and close to the beach. Their facilities offer a great time for all kind. The staff is very friendly and cooperate. I truly recommend a stay here.

We were in the right hand side of the hotel side sea view. I just feel for a 5 star you should never have to climb into a bath to get a shower. It was old and it leaked water out of the side of the head on day one. To be fair once i told reception it was fixed within the hour amazing. Room was good not the best ive stayed in. I just felt i was in the old part of hotel. |As for the bar, food, pool beds etc. wow it was a different level staff were 1st class. I left thinking great hotel but bathroom /room let it down. But i would still return.

Stayed four nights in a sea view room. Hotel is traditional and upscale. Our first sea view was blocked by tree so we changed it for full sea view. Great location. Just walk out the front of hotel and you are in Marbella very close to old town. Just walk out the back of hotel down some steps and you are on the beach. Valet parking were efficient and helpful with directions.|Breakfast buffet was great with multiple choice. Servers were mostly arrogant and painfully slow bringing coffee. Front desk was hospitable. Evening dinner in restaurant was average. Then we ventured out for dinner for last three nights to Buenos Aires Steakhouse and Nativo (make reservation) about a five minute walk into old town. Both were wonderful restaurants.

This hotel is fantastic! We've had such a wonderful stay. Vega was so gracious and welcoming when we arrived late and tired. Isabel and Gonzalo have been fantastic and helpful every day. I this hotel / resort and highly recommend if you want a five star experience and a five star staff. We will come back for our next anniversary. Great location. Private beach. Get exclusive rooms for all the extras. Great entertainment. Fantastic dining

Staying at the hotel with 3 rooms. Arrived at solemo bar told no service at 5:45. Lots of available tables. Told that all the tables were reserved. I think they thought we were not hotel guests. Once we told them that we were hotel guests they told us that the bar closes at 6 on Saturday. We had been there on Friday and it had closed at 7. We were able to get served on the beach chairs beside the solermo bar but we felt that we were getting a favour from the bar staff. Quite unfortunate given that we have 3 rooms at the hotel for 4 days. Subsequent to the bad service I was able to talk to the GM about this incident He was very apologetic and very understanding I was impressed by the recovery of a bad service incident

Stayed here for a weekend hens party last year and absolutely love this place. This hotel is beautiful, also the location is perfect, right in the center of Marbella. The staff is nice and everything its very clean.

Nice place overlooking the Mediterranean, with multi language speaking help, people from all over Western Europe, and a safe clean environment. Beds are typically Spanish- which means not great. Our King bed is just two doubles pushed together. We've been sleeping every night with the exterior patio door open so we could here the sound of the water. That has been fantastic! Boardwalk between us and the water is quiet, convenient, and provides some fun shopping. Marbella the town doesn't quite live up to the hype. I prefer Mallorca, Ibiza, and for truly quiet relaxation Menorca.
