Normally I only go out of my way to praise a place, but today it's time to say how incredibly disappointed I was here. The food was decent, the ambiance good, but the service... This story is one of me slowly losing patience as I'm completely neglected for increasingly longer periods of time.
I walk in, and the bartender says to just go take a seat if I wanted to sit on the patio. I think there must have been another entrance as there was a host who led other people to the patio from inside the restaurant, so those instructions left me waiting for a while before I was given a menu. The server asked me about a minute later if I was ready to order, with no time to really look at what they offered. Welp, guess I'll eat the entirety of two bowls of chips and salsa before ever seeing that person again. I might as well have walked out at that point.
They finally take my order, and I get a second very tiny glass of water. The burrito comes at a not unreasonable pace, but the horchata is nowhere to be seen. About halfway through the burrito I pause because surely the horchata will show up at some point, and I want to enjoy it with my meal. No such luck, and ain't nobody coming to check on me at all, so I'm using the melted ice in my tiny water cups to slake my thirst. I eventually finish my burrito, eating slowly with that vain hope of accompanying horchata. Alas.
The server finally appears again as I finish, filling my water cup and asking how I'm doing. At this point I just want to leave, so I tell them they can cancel the horchata. They apologize (they seem like a very nice person; I don't want to be at all negative about them personally) and offer to get it for me to go. I decline, as the purpose was for the drink to accompany the meal, and the meal is done. They go off to update the order, and one would presume get the check, seeing as I've finished eating. But no. I'm left there dinking around on my phone for a solid 10-15 minutes, eventually contemplating just walking out, before my server ever comes by and asks if I want the check that I frankly thought was coming 15 minutes ago.
I still gave a tip because I'm not a bastard, but I will never get to find out if the horchata is as good as my server claimed. As I said, the food was decent, and there were other things on the menu that I would have liked to try, but I'm never going back to a place that so fully ignores their customers like that.
