Incredible place! The farm is located in the Uruguayan countryside, you'll be surrounded by fields, horses and cows. The place itself is extremely beautiful, you have a small pool, you can go on walks, pet the dog Thor and the horses, the decoration is beautiful and the beds super comfy. We had a riding lesson with Miguel which was so much fun, and Mónica's home cooked meals are beyond delicious. Both Mónica and Miguel are so welcoming and friendly (and funny!), we did not want to leave El Galope. We will definitely be back! ♥️

My wife and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay, over 3 nights, at El Galope. Monica and Miguel were very thoughtful hosts. Miguel was a fantastic riding instructor especially as he took into account my beginner status. Monica’s food was delicious.

El Galope is the perfect place if you want to chill. The rooms are comfortable and tranquil. Everything you need for a good nights sleep. The communal area is relaxing with a kitchen, books and board games. Monica and Miguel are attentive and flexible hosts. If you don’t want to cook Monica provides delicious and filling food. I had a riding lesson. Miguel was patient and explained what to do perfectly. Popeye the horse was excellent for beginners as he is so gentle. Overall a good experience in the Uruguayan countryside with charming hosts.

El Galope is a lovely estancia and Miguel and Monica are very warm and friendly hosts. The estancia is very nice decorated and the location is great, you can 'hear' the silence. We loved the cheese fondue for dinner and loved even more the horse riding the next morning. Miguel taught us the basic skills and when he was sure we could control the horse, we went for a ride. What a wonderful way to start our first trip in Uruguay. Thank you so much Monica and Miguel, thanks for all the suggestions for the rest of our trip and we will definitely recommend you to our friends.

Where to begin with such a beautiful and magical experience at El Galope in the countryside of Colonia, Uruguay. Monica and Miguel are a dynamic duo with Monica providing excellent home cooked meals and special artistic touches throughout their beautiful home and Miguel is one of the best horse riding teachers I've ever had! Very patient and kind and I learned a ton in one lesson. As a solo female traveler, I found everything to be safe, secure, kind, and perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay. There are only 5 other rooms so its an intimate space. I met locals and travelers from Canada, which made our shared dinners entertaining. The sauna is amazing too! The boxer dogs Tor and Chira were such cuties, the birds that call the estancia home were lovely, and the horses were some of the most well-kept and beautiful creatures I've seen in a while! If you're looking for a homie, peaceful experience and aren't afraid to get a little dirty (farm life) this is the perfect place to unwind!! Very easy to get as a weekend get away from Buenos Aires

I spent 2 nights here... And while I had a great experience everywhere in Uruguay, this place was probably one of the most memorable. It was a relaxing experience, got to take horse riding lessons from Miguel, the food Monica cooked was awesome, and they were both extremely hospitable and knowledge about that region. Went to a dairy farm across the street, and while the people there didn't speak any English, they were super hospitable as well. Overall, a great relaxing experience... I'd suggest bringing a good book as well! I don't often write reviews, but this one's an exception and this review can extend to all of small town Uruguay!

Really welcoming couple run the B&B and horse tours. There's a cooling plunge pool for when it gets hot and fireflies in the bushes. Dinner is great and the atmosphere very peaceful. There's plenty of seating around the garden and Monica's stylish art in a number of places. A really enjoyable retreat between Colonia del Sacramento and Montevideo. Easy pick up from the bus stops at Colonia Valdense

I spent one night here in April but could have spent a month. Monica and Miguel are really wonderful people who made me feel welcome and relaxed. The horses were beautiful, the fondue plentiful and the sauna was absolutely fantastic. I hope to return soon.
