Really nice hat and accessories. They had a $1000 Panama hat that was said to have taken 180 days to weave. The weave was incredibly fine, it was simply unbelievable. The display cased hats were fascinating to see the different sized weaves and craftsmanship. I regret not buying one of the entry level hats, but I am sure I would have crushed it on the plane back, so I got the cork chicken hat instead. They also had some really cool wooden watches and sunglasses too.

Great store for hats (especially Panama) and jewelry from all over the world designers. Nothing is overpriced. The store has some antique pieces for decoration (safe, camera,etc) and the owner is very nice. It’s a must see.

I was so excited to go in this beautiful shop. I came in looking for a wedding band, and the owner himself took great care of me. Suggested one of his preferred wedding bands, and I was sold. He has something for EVERYONE! I will be going back to get me some beautiful sun hats! Thank you so much Gustavo for an amazing experience at your shop!

A hat store in Old San Juan. We have visited in two separate occasions and my girlfriend has purchased a really beautiful hat. The options are plentiful and the young ladies working are very knowledgeable. If you are looking for a fashionable hat, both men and women, stop in and take a look.

This place sucks….. I purchased one watch for $108. It’s available in Temu for $18… they don’t take the returns , they will give only credits…. We fell in that trap 🥲👎🏾

Great customer service and attention to details. Great selection of gifts, hats, watches ,etc. we picked up some nice items but for myself I got a nice wooden watch. With a cord band. Very light weight and very good looking watch. Very pleased with this purchase. Definitely worth the price- I'll probably buy another 1 or 2 watches. Also- their Panama hats are fantastic (an eventual purchase for me). Come by and get some great gifts for you and your loved ones. ones.

While walking around Old San Juan we came across the really neat hat store. My girlfriend really liked a few of the hats they had. They also had various types of Panama hats. The young lady working there was very helpful and nice.

A special shop to visit! Great selection of hats designed in Puerto Rico. Also some nice leather goods. But the handmade wooden watches caught my attention and we had to buy one. They adjusted the band for free which was great. Our sales person, Priscila, was so personable, helpful and friendly. Will definitely return on our next trip.

This is a cool shop and I bought a wood watch here - it had their name in the clasp but then I saw the same watches in other shops. The no battery wind feature seemed great except it does not keep accurate time - too fast or slow - they said they would replace it but that means mailing it back from the states at my cost and waiting a few weeks. I like the way it looks - frustrated it does not keep time correctly.

We literally stumbled upon the store and loved it. I love the guy that works there his name is Gustavo. This is mainly a hat store but I managed define beautiful earrings and necklaces. Gustavo who runs the store is absolutely charming, we were just cracking up. I know if my husband and I live there we would be having some great food, wine and beers with him and his wife. Maybe he should just bring his wife to Colorado to come visit us, lol.

Best boutique in old San Juan that I found. Imported jewelry from turkey but very trendy, unique and affordable. Also has fashionable hats and sunglasses. They have jewelry made from animal bone.

EZ walking distance from the Cruise port in San Juan, El Galpon was exactly the hat shop I had hoped to find. After hours of online study, I ended up with a more inexpensive, and better styled hat than I had been willing to buy online. A highlight was to try on one of the most expensive Panama Hats, and be extremely satisfied with the everyday, longer lasting one suggested by Gustavo. He was extraordinarily friendly, and a variety of other Santos, Tobacco, and other authentic Puerto Rico items. For all of that- it was a hat store, and a great place for an original Panama. Many styles and types, but authentic Panama hats from Equador. No matter what- remember to remove your hat from the brim, never from the crown.

Great selection of hats and cigars. Exactly the place I need to complete my vacation look. The owner is very knowledgeable and brings great character to his business. He even gave my wife and I a map of Old San Juan with some of his favorite recommendations which came in handy especially for breakfast. Great hat store that I will surly explore again on my return to Old San Juan.

While in San Juan for the day, we just happened to stroll past this place, not knowing what to expect, we were greeted by the very friendly, sincere and knowledgeable shop owner, Gustavo! This guy knew his hats, (btw his wife has phenomenal photos for sale), he knew his art and he definitely knew his cigars. I picked up a few to bring back home (and share) but half of them mysteriously disappeared before I made it back to Texas - blame it on the cruise line! I'm hoping they will ship me a box because these cigars are Super Phenomenal!!! Cigar connesuers, do not sleep on this place! You will regret it!

I bought 2 boxes of hand rolled cigars shipped directly to my friends in New York for free which is really sweet and memoriable.

I checked out five hat dealers in Old San Juan, and this nice, small shop had the best selection of better quality straw hats made by hand in Ecuador, as well as the most personable and knowledgeable service. I went in to buy one hat and wound up buying two, which they happily shipped home to me in New England. If a high quality, perfectly fitting hat is what you're after, sold to you by a friendly couple who clearly know the hat trade, then this is the place for sure.

During my vacation in PR I stopped in to El Galpon to find an authentic Panama hat. I was welcomed into the store by Betsy. She was the epitome of a gracious host and welcomed me in as if I were a family member entering her home. I told her I was looking for a hat that would provide some protection from the sun and make me look cool. :) She said "I know exactly which hat you need!" She went right to the shelf, pulled the hat and placed it on my head. It fit perfectly and definitely made me feel cool! I asked to try on about 5 other hats, even had her pull down a purple hat from the top shelf. She was very willing to help to make sure I had a variety of hats to choose from. After all was said and done I bought the first hat she placed on my head. Her first instinct on the perfect hat for me was spot on! If you are in the Old San Juan area I recommend you stop in to El Galpon, say hi to Betsy and see all they have to offer in this charming shop.

Was in Old San Juan for the day and found this awesome place. Got an amazing panama hat. The selection and quality are fantastic and the lady who helped us was so cheerful and friendly. Had a great experience and got the free cigar from the check in on yelp as well as purchased another. Highly recommended.

This was my Favorite Store in all Of Old San Juan!!!! I went into this shop and was amazed at the variety of things you could find here. They had an amazing collection of Masks- Coconut and Paper Mache and Hand carved Santos. Great Guy Store too. You can find most cigars and you can get excellent puerto rican cigars. They had Guayaberas and Panama Hats. Very Cool Panama Hats!!! I also got very nice picture and prints. All in all a very complete store, that I am definitely worth revisiting when I go to PR Again!!!! They sell Panama Hats in very stylish models, Guayaberas which are traditional shirts which are coming back in fashion.

i wouldn't say that' it's something you need to drive an hour to go see or shop here or anything but it was worth it to pop in here while i was shopping in the area. they had more "real" puerto rican stuff and not only souveniers. i bought 5 boxes of cigars shipped directly to my house for free (so i didn't have to pack them in my luggage). personally grown tobacco and hand-rolled. they had nice real linen puerto rican shirts, panama hats. good stuff. real materials made locally so not as cheap as the souvenier shops all along that street but excellent quality stuff. the cigars just arrived so i'm happy!

The best part was the owner - he pinned down my husband's head size within an eighth of an inch just by looking at him from across the room. Not only did he help my husband find the best hat for his head shape and skin color, but he helped me find a hat that fit perfectly... which is not easy since I have a lot of curly hair and hats usually lift off my head within a minute of putting them on. Not with this one! He showed us how to care for the hats, and later, he saw us in the street and gave us an extra tip on how to pack them when traveling. As if that wasn't good enough, we ran across him another time and he and his wife helped us find the best Puerto Rican coffee in San Juan. What a wonderful experience! I would highly recommend El Galpon to anyone traveling to the city whether they were seeking a hat or not. Very memorable experience.

These are quality hats from Ecuador, not synthetic knockoffs. I came away in my new hat, feeling more handsome than when I entered, and at such a reasonable price that I didn't think twice about buying one for my gal too.
