El Gaucho | Hai Ba Trung

Steak cooked to perfection. Good service. Nice atmosphere. If this was all that mattered, then definitely 5 stars... but need to say the price is almost double the price I would pay at an equally good steak restaurant in the Netherlands. 88 usd per person for only (simple) steak, salad, and a glass of wine. High prices probably due to import costs but still... this needs to be included in the review. If price doesn't matter then it would be 5 stars. But for me, although I'm glad I tried it, I wouldn't go back. Being here in Vietnam, i could eat great food for a week, for the same price.

I ate here with my 5 Aussie friends on the 28th April and it was the best meal we’ve eaten in weeks of travel. Nothing can prepare you for the high quality of both the food and the service. We didn’t have an empty glass all night, we were waited on hand and foot by the friendliest staff. The serving team led by Mi Mi were simply brilliant. Steaks, meat platters, marrows, breads, Fois Gras - brilliant. 2 days later I’m back to have the medium 500 gram rib eye with pepper sauce and MiMi remembered my order and me. She also recalled every order at our 6 person table. Between 6 of us we spent 23 million VND but it was a high quality dining experience (with wines) and better than the steaks I’ve eaten in Australia. Highly recommend.

Had dinner at El Gaucho Hai Bà Trưng. My all-time favorites are the truffle mashed potatoes – creamy and addictive – and the foie gras, always rich and perfectly seared. Dinner usually ends with their caramel vodka shot, smooth and such a signature touch that keeps me coming back. Only downside: there’s no car parking and once my card payment failed, it took about 3 days to get the refund. A bit of a hassle for this price point, but I’d still come back mainly for the truffle mash & foie gras.

I normally don't go to steakhouses with this many locations as I prefer the best and chains usually disappoint. But this place has some of the best steaks I've ever had in my life! The Japanese Wagyu Ribeye was 100% worth it! The appetizers and side dishes are just as good! The service is fantastic and extremely attentive. The world needs more places like this!!! The only downside is after you try this place, it's hard to go try something new. I've already been there twice in a week! Don't even hesitate, this is definitely an A+ spot!!

Top class steak house in the center of Ho Chi Minh. It is situated in one of most crowded areas of the city. It is a three floor restaurant; The steaks are unbelievable and we strongly recommend the US ribeye. Good selection of wines even though we preferred the beer. No draft beer though available. The service is professional and the overall expression is excellent. High prices but this is something that you expect when going to a steak house. Highly recommended

Amazing place! The starters, the main course, the caramel vodka shots on the house were all delicious. The staff is so nice and attentive, the atmosphere is great and relaxing.

Great service and quality of food. The bread and butter was also delicious. The mango cocktail with coconut sorbet was outstanding and the rib eye steak was perfectly cooked medium well done with mouth watering peppersteak sauce.
