Ok, so, true confession. I was in Argentina 10 years ago, in the south, did the full Torres del Paine trek and absolutely loved it. Spent some time in Buenos Aires after that and absolutely loved it. There is something about Argentina and in Cafayate it hit me big time again. Maybe it was partly due to the 3 days of biking through incredible scenery and people that it took me to get there. Head over heels again with Argentina.||||So, Hostal El Hospedaje, lovely and charming in unexpected ways like so much of what I saw and experienced in Salta. People just so grounded and happy, beauty everywhere, horses everywhere, wine everywhere. The little white dog un-premise is a perfect example (he pops up in some of the photos). ||||Room was comfortable, building obviously older but well taken care of. Loved the courtyard and all the old stuff decorating the lobby and the eating area. Food at breakfast was very basic, they did give us eggs the 2nd morning but I think that was by special arrangement. NW Argentina, breakfasts tend to be very simple.
