Excellent hostel with nice relaxed atmosphere. Friendly and extremely helpful staff. Great breakfast and all you can drink delicious coffee. Located in a great area of restaurants and bars and close to the main square. Stayed here several times on our trip through Guatemala and it was a really good place to base ourselves as the staff were really helpful with booking shuttles and tours like the Acatenango hike and they offered good rates with great companies. Would highly recommend this place!

This is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Beds are comfy with curtains for extra privacy. Rooms are quiet and super clean. All the staff are so kind and helpful. The breakfasts are delicious and locally sourced and sustainable. You must try the motulenos before you leave this place. El Hostel definitely deserves a 5/5.

We enjoyed staying at this hostel while in Antigua. Think it's a good price value for what you get. It could have been a bit better. Some of the items on the menu where not available ever. Also the coffee machine didn't seem to be working while we where there. The rooms are not terribly well isolated and there is a club next door (music stops after 1 in the morning). The staff hover was extremely friendly and accommodating.

The staff and clientele here made such a great vibe during our trip! The facilities are also some of the best we have encountered. The hot showers are actually hot (with good pressure!), and the rooms nice and cozy. Great food, drinks, and music all day long. Our experience here made it very difficult to leave Antigua. I hope you stay here!

There is a reason this place was voted best hostel in Guatamala for 2016 & 2017. Seriously so surprised at how nice it was here, the showers are hot (finally), the beds are comfortable and the atmosphere is great. The staff are unbelievably friendly and accommodating and the breakfast... Don't even get me started on the breakfast (delicious). And all this for as cheap as they offer it? It's a steal.

+ Location is perfect and the place has a nice atmosphere + breakfast is included - for using a locker for a few hours after your stay it's 25 Q and for a shower it's another 25. They know a lot of people will use those facilities after climbing the volcano (it's as much as one night at most of the hostels). - staff is not very helpful and they advertise it as 100 % local run but the receptionist was German and just got to Guatemala (didn't know anything about the town) -had breakfast twice here and every time there was something missing from what you've ordered (the cheese or the fruit or..) When I came back to Antigua I stayed in another hostel which was a lot more laid back and friendlier

Very friendly staff and a nice and clean place. Good coffee and excellent guacamole. The receptionists are very helpful, not only when you need a shuttle or want to book one of many tours. There are three dorms and three rooms with two to four beds. Except for dorm 1&2 all rooms are facing the courtyard and are quiet.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a private double room. It was a very nice, comfortable and clean hostel. The staff were helpful and the free breakfast (including pretty good filter coffee) was really good. You could choose what breakfast you wanted (I tried the omelette and the huevos racheros - both very good) and you can refill your coffee mug as you like. There's free water and a nice courtyard to relax. Toilets and showers are segregated (male and female) and were never busy. Towels are included (not sure about dorms). Good location but anywhere in the main town is a good location.
