El Jannah Chicken Burwood

This was my first visit to El Jannah Burwood, and honestly, I came for the chicken but stayed for the kindness. The service deserves a standing ovation 👏. The two female staff members were incredibly patient and friendly — so kind that I briefly wondered if they were secretly trained in emotional healing. From ordering to serving, everything was done with warmth and care. My mood improved before my appetite was even satisfied. Now, let’s talk about the chicken. The meat itself was delicious — juicy, flavorful, and clearly cooked with experience. You can tell this isn’t “just another grilled chicken.” That said, I have to be honest: some parts of the skin were a bit too charred and slightly salty. Not a deal-breaker, but the chicken skin may have had a little too much excitement that day 😄. The salad, however, was a pleasant surprise — fresh, tasty, and so good it almost distracted me from the chicken. The dining area was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing, making it an enjoyable place to sit and eat without feeling rushed. Finally, a heartfelt thank you to the two female staff members for their genuine kindness. Being treated with such friendliness really makes a difference. Four stars not because I don’t love it — but because I’m definitely coming back again. Grateful from the heart 🍗✨

El Jannah Chicken Burwood is a reliable go-to for great charcoal chicken. The chicken is juicy, tender, and full of smoky flavour, and the famous garlic sauce is a standout. Portions are generous, making it perfect for sharing, and the sides like the potatoes and salads round out the meal well. Service is quick and efficient, even when it’s busy, making it an easy choice for a satisfying, casual meal.

Polite and competent staff. Have ordered Xmas lunch from El Jannah for the last 5 yrs. Thus was the first yr from Burwood. Just as good as the other years. Love their charcoal chicken, best ever and their pickled veggies. Can't forget their flat bread and world famous garlic sauce. The best place for charcoal chicken 🐔 😋

I really wanted to enjoy this meal because the sides were actually great. The tabouli, garlic sauce and chips were all on point. But I spent 45 dollars on what was supposed to be a whole chicken with extra pieces, and honestly it did not even look like a full chicken. There was barely any chicken and what was there did not have much meat on it. On top of that, the chicken was unbelievably tough and dry. It was drier than my eczema skin, and even a dermatologist could not save this chicken. To make things worse, both my partner and I ended up with stomach aches afterwards, which was the cherry on top. It is really disappointing because this is not the first time. Your chicken is consistently dry. Please fix this. I spent 45 dollars on a whole chicken that ended up being drier than the Sahara Desert. The sides are great, but the chicken desperately needs serious improvement.

Try it for the first time and it was horrible. Not sure what’s the hype is, maybe i should give it another go at Granville?. Charcoal chicken taste burn, dryer than my food dryer, even Coles chicken is better. Garlic Sauce taste really nice (the only thing that’s worth it), chips r decent and fried chicken is mid. Staff is great helpful, clean restaurant.

Bought takeaway chicken here. Usually decent. Chicken was not fully cooked and had to throw half of it away. The worst part is I left feedback through their official channel and rather than offering a refund they sent a generic message saying they will do better. What a joke when undercooked chicken can make people sick. Won't be coming back here again.

She was incredibly kind, caring, and polite, and made the whole experience very pleasant. Her genuine attitude and professionalism truly stood out — she even refused to accept a tip, which says a lot about her integrity and character. Isabella is a real credit to the team. What happened to them……….. Their quality went down so badly. Burned chicken. I ll show you in photos. I went there to have some nice charcoal chicken but when I saw all chicken look like in pictures I have to turned away. It’s so disappointing what they are famous for, cannot do proper way.
