Amazing place. The ambiance is rich with paintings and artwork. The wait staff are superb and all work together to bring a great experience. We had the paella which rivaled the paella we had in Madrid. It was full of various seafood and cooked perfectly. Anyone who enjoys seafood should try this. We asked the server for a recommendation on wine to pair with the dish and it was perfect for the dinner. Their Manhattan cocktail was tasty and mixed exactly as it should be. This restaurant is a gem and we will return later this week to try their snapper!

This food was literally one of my top lifetime favorites! Holy crap! Everything we ordered was absolute fire! Kinda wish I lived here so I could visit all of the time! Amazing food and service that you just dont get back home in Ohio. Absolutely love this place 10 out 10 I highly recommend! Lynette was wonderful, actually there were probably 4 different servers helping and they really made it an experience!

Google
Nice place! Great for an elegant dinner. It's a little expensive but it's worth it. The environment and food are great. Customer service was great A++

Google
This place is awesome from the time of walk-in you can feel welcomed Milton made our drinks and was quick and efficient drinks were made with fresh squeezed grapefruit. Our server was amazing giving us choices for our picky daughter and she ended up eating everything that was bough to her. Our server linette was very acomodating. Love this place it was our first time here.

Google
Wow!! Food was so flavorful, service was truly amazing (so far the fastest and most attentive in service in PR). Lynette our sever went out of her way to get us what we wanted. The spread the tables out due to Covid which I thought was a nice touch, the piña colada was very good and the flan is yummy. Everything tasted fresh

The food lacked flavor and desperately needed seasoning. We tried the red snapper and frisco de pollo, but both dishes were disappointingly average and certainly not worth the price.

Google
I revisited this once-legendary spot but found it lacking. The paella was bland, undercooked with raw rice and minimal seafood. The sangria tasted like sugary fruit punch. Cozy ambiance, but restrooms need an upgrade. Service was fine, but not exceptional. I'm sad to say that this place, once a delightful favorite, has lost its charm. I hope the management takes this review seriously and takes action to improve.

Im gonna try to make this brief but WOW. Wow, wow, wow. This was the first restaurant I dined at when I moved to Puerto Rico and three years later it does not fail to impress. The rice is always perfect no matter what dish you’re getting, the steak is tender, the soup is flavorful, and the PLANTAINS. Boy do these people know what they’re doing with plantains. The service is wonderful, members of the staff are clearly close and work well as a team, and the atmosphere is lovely- soft pink lighting and electric candles on tables, paintings and mirrors hung on every square inch of the walls. My personal favorite thing to order is the tostones de pana- they’re gonna hit every single time. Only cons: bread for the table does leave something to be desired, dessert menu is limited. Still giving this place it’s 5 stars.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for her birthday dinner, at the recommendation of our hotel. We asked our hotel where we could go for a special dinner, and dress up but not look out of place. They quickly answered "El Ladrillo", and after eating here, it's obvious why there was no hesitation. The atmosphere was unique, with tons of local art covering the walls, dim lighting, and beautifully set tables. The service was beyond reproach, our server treated us like family, and our food was brought out quickly. Now. The food. We were quickly given a plate of fresh warm bread slices, drizzled with a garlic oil that was TO DIE FOR. We asked him for more and he brought out a bigger plate of them, no questions asked. We could have happily eaten just that bread for dinner. In stead, I ordered the garlic and butter shrimp in a sherry sauce, and a side house salad, while my friend ordered the file mignon. She's from Texas, and knows her steak, so when she said this was by far and wide the best steak she's ever had, I believe her. I've never seen someone melt on the spot like that over steak haha. Our food was nothing short of spectacular. We are absolutely returning to this place in the future.

Yelp
This restaurant is very enjoyable. The decor of many paintings of all types adorns the walls of old building. Service was extraordinary. The staff was very attentive but not rushed creating a relaxed dining experience. We selected a Malbec which was enjoyed by all. Our friends were very pleased with their selections of Shrimp prepared very creative dishes, all fresh and prepared to order. We passed on desert and coffee although the offerings were tempting.

Andrea S.

Yelp
Dim lit white tablecloth old school rest with art all over the walls. Great for a date night. Italian food and also Puerto Rican. Service was great

Pat D.

Yelp
Food was good and it is a very nice atmosphere. The service was good with the exception of Milton. He was inattentive, flippant and overall disoriented. He ruined what would have been a very nice experience. The remainder of the help was very nice and I could see how helpful they were to the tables they served. Milton on the other hand took our order, forgot our order, overcharged us on the bill and lacked in any charm when questioned on the error becoming quite defensive. Charming place. Recommend the house salad and any of the appetizers.

Yelp
El ladrillo was recommended to me by my nice uber driver of places to try while staying in Dorado. It's a fancy artsy high class restaurant and since I wanted to take myself on a solo fine and dine date I opted here based on the good reviews. The service was really excellent too. All the waiters came and conversed with me or I to them. It was my first time finally really getting to try mofongo and the waitress recommended having it softer by substituting it with 2 sweet plantains which was cool. The softness and little hit of sweet and salty felt different in a good way on the taste buds. It also was my first time trying plantain soup as I wanted to stray away from my usual orders to try new things. I saw there's many ways to make it so I loved how I left with some new recipe ideas. The filet mignon was my main course and disclaimer its basically cabaret sauce with cherries. It dawned on me while I was eating it where my little buzz was coming from. All in all I would recommend this lil gem if you want to treat yourself well.

Marcanthony A.

Yelp
Great Food and service. The ambience was laid back and chill with a touch of fancy, and man that Paella was delicious. You can tell it was fresh and also the seafood very good. Would definitely come back. Waiter was also really friendly and very helpful!

Rod F.

Yelp
What a wonderful experience. Milton was an absolute treat. The pork chop was mouth watering, filet mignon tasty and perfectly grilled. Definitely a must go to. Will be going back there soon.

Jonathan A.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and helpful wait staff. Food left much to be desired and overpriced in my opinion. Was not terrible, but I don't see myself coming back. I wish the entrees came with at least rice but all sides are separate. Good restaurant if budget isn't an issue.

Dr. Luis E.

Yelp
Food is top, service is good, ambiance is quite interesting, with local art such as Wichi Torres painting's, surrounding you, Tatta and Tato are there , all of the time making sure there your dinning experience is enjoyable. They make you feel as if you're At a friend's having dinner.

Rachel D.

Yelp
We came here for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding party dinner. It was an intimate dinner on a Saturday night. We sat in the table in the back left corner where we got to view beautiful art like mango and coconut paintings. The food was phenomenal my favorites were the Croquetas, the filet mignon, and the flan. My sister-in-law's favorites were the Churrasco and the papaya and get us Croquetas. My brothers favorites were everything. And he's really high maintenance. the servers English was amazing and were so hospitable to us crazy tourists.

Dwight T.

Yelp
Great food and customer service. Relaxed environment as well. I would recommend any other tourist to try this restaurant.

Mike G.

Yelp
What a quaint and enjoyable restaurant, beautiful artwork on the walls and a wonderful staff! Milton was amazing and a wonderful bartender besides. Food was fantastic from steaks to seafood! Highly recommend but plan on spending time and enjoying the atmosphere and have a couple cocktails.

Margarita G.

Yelp
The food is exquisite, the service great and the ambiance is very relaxed. This is just what I was looking for. Great to have a family dinner and talk relax.

Judy S.

Yelp
The restaurant is nice. What I like about it the most is that is has its own private parking lot. The restaurant is decorated with paintings all around. It's actually beautiful all around. The lighting and music choices are exelent. We ordered two appetizers sestas al ajo tostados. Mushrooms in a garlic buttery sauce. It was good. We also had perchuto with manchego cheese, exelent. We all enjoyed it. The main course was chuleton de ternera PuertoRicostyle, Veil chops with pepper and onions sauce. With a side. I chosed french fries. Personally I think this dish should have come with white rice also. It would have complemented the sauce. The dish was delicious I would order it again. I was surprised that no dinner rolls. It took a long time to serve us from the appetizers to dinner course. Dinner rolls would have nice. The service was very. The food was exelent. It's a place that I would love to come bock again.

Eli G.

Yelp
Can be a little bit more expensive; family centered dining. Small parking lot, I would make a reservation. It's on Avenida Medel Vigo in Dorado!

Andres J. G.

Yelp
Family dinner was outstanding. Chillo and mero filetes were exquisite. Mofongo also very good. Service was excellent.

Bermarie M.

Yelp
La comida se tardo mucho tiempo no pese a eso pedí un mofongo relleno de todos los mariscos y el pulpo y carrucho estaba demasiado duro. No me lo pude terminar de comer.

Chesnya C.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Great atmosphere and the staff were very attentive and kind. I had the salmon and it came out nice and hot. Definitely would recommend this place to others visiting Dorado.

Ashley M.

Yelp
My boyfriend ordered the veal chop and potatoes, was divine. I loved my shrimp stew over white rice with sweet plantains. Highly recommend the tres leches cake for dessert. Truly loved the authentic food and great service.

Sonj H.

Yelp
The ambiance is wonderful and the staff are very sweet. It is definitely worth a visit. We had cheese appetizer, paella, flan and wine. Food is rather bland but not bad. Our service was lovely. We very much enjoyed ourselves.

Lisa J.

Yelp
Great atmosphere but even better cuisine. Hubby had the black rice with calamari and said he never had better. I had the Mafongo, onion soup gratin and house salad. All were delicious. I spooned some of the broth of my soup on the mofongo, so it needed a sauce. We loved it so much we are going back for their paella!

Vianny C.

Yelp
In English: Incredible. Hands down, one of the best food experiences I've ever had in my life. The ambience of the restaurant was stellar. It was the most beautiful thing, the decorations and music, everything in conjunction made for a spectacular dining experience. But the best thing about the restaurant was the service. We had the most incredible server. Linette was so kind and attentive to our needs. I'm trying to be a vegetarian and eat less meat so all I was gonna get was a side of mofongo and rice and beans, but she noticed and said she would tell the chef to make me special mushroom rice with plátanos maduros. It was such a kind thing to do, the food was incredible! Also the queso frito y Zetas for appetizer are a must! Everyone loved their food. Beautiful presentation and beautiful people! Totally recommend! In Spanish: Excelente. Une restaurante fenomenal. El ambiente fue bueno. Música y arte bella, y comida espectacular.

Jamie S.

Yelp
This was a great dinner option with friends. We ordered the Angus Filete Minon Encebolleda and the Surf and Turf special. Both were great, and we would come back again.

Prasenjit R.

Yelp
This place was really fantastic. My daughter said it was the best steak she's had in a long time. The service is a bit spotty but nice overall and thoroughly enjoyable. The art is worth a few walks around the interior. Definitely going again when in town.

Linda B.

Yelp
Loved our dinner here. Great atmosphere and service. Call ahead if you plan to order the paella.

Liz W.

Yelp
The highlight of our meal was the house salad and the dressing. Service was good. We ordered the NY steak and croquettes - both of which were not good. I barely had more than a bite of my steak and the server came over to ask if I liked it. My friend ate what she could of hers, but agreed quality was fair at best. The croquettes were not like any croquette I've seen before- tasted like a bread ball with a bit of cheese inside. Wine was not good either. Won't go back.

Angel B.

Yelp
Great ambient, wine, food and service. Friendly and smiling staff. I enjoyed the food and the service.

Kevin G.

Yelp
Food was very good. Server was shockingly rude. Approached the table and asked what we wanted. Didn't greet us or welcome us what so ever. When I asked for the specials (since he didn't offer any) he rattled off a list of fish and meat without any details. This continued throughout the dinner. All his interactions were blunt and rude. Not at all what you would expect from such a nice place (it is a lovely establishment) at this price point. At the end of the night he literally dropped the bill at our table without saying a word and moved onto the next table. No "thank you" or "good night." The only good service we received was from the young men who brought the water and cleared the table. I tipped $5 on a $120 bill for them. I considered $0 but felt bad that they have to suffer for his truly horrendous service.

Heather L.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great wine, and fantastic steak. Tried the T-bone, balsamic filet, and Cabernet reduction filet. All wonderful. Would definitely come back!

Debbie D.

Yelp
Excellent service at this restaurant which you can miss if driving by quickly. Love the local artwork inside which makes the ambience even better. Wait staff and Tony were amazing to making sure our meal was perfect and answered all our questions about the menu. Absolutely loved the red snapper filet- cooked to perfection with so much flavor and the filet mignon in Cabernet sauce was to die for. Absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone in town. You will thoroughly enjoy your meal.

Yvette B.

Yelp
My family and I visited recently and had a wonderful experience. Tony was our waiter, and not only was he extremely well versed on the menu, but the history of the restaurant itself. We even had the pleasure of dining along side Ponce's famed artist Wichie Torres whose artwork was displayed throughout the restaurant (yes, pieces were also on sale). As far as the food goes, everything was delicious from start to finish. The appetizers came out rather quickly, but the entree took a while, but was well worth the wait. This seems to be a common critique of El Ladrillo, but like I said, worth the wait. I'd recommend going with an appetite, but don't wait until you're approaching the hangry stage as it will certainly impact your impression.

Jon B.

Yelp
The best seafood dish I have ever had. The skirt steak with rice and beans was fantastic as well. Definitely going back!

Ab B.

Yelp
Overall good food and great service. We did not have a reservation on a Tuesday night but they were able to get us a table. The sangria is good but too sweet for me. We ordered calamari and cheese croquetas (which were basically cheese curds). Both very small portions but good. We had filet in am onion sauce. Really good but too much sauce, i thought. My hubby had the porterhouse which he enjoyed and my son loved the skirt steak. My daughter, however, did not like her chicken parm at all. The texture of the chicken was really odd. They did not have a wine list which suprised me for a restaurant of this caliber. When I asked for one, the waiter asked what I like to drink and he brought me a glass. No idea what brand. I assume they only have house wine? Our bill for 2 adults and 2 kids was $200. Go here for a long, relaxing dinner.

Patrick F.

Yelp
A good chunk of our party had just arrived on the island. They were tired (weather made travel a 2 day experience). They were starving. El Ladrillo sat our group of 8 without complaint 45 minutes before they closed. The service was great. They let us take our time - serving us drinks and desserts well after their front door had been locked. We never felt rushed or that we were imposing on anyone. Many a plate was cleared that night as the food was delicioso across the board. I had a fish (my memory is fuzzy, but I believe it was red snapper) in some kind of spicy red sauce. I gobbled it up and stabbed anyone reaching for sampling with a fork.

Freddie M.

Yelp
Their paella was phenomenal and fed two people for almost three meals. I actually did not consider it as pricey as others have said. It is most definitely some of the finest dining you will get in Dorado, however. Service was excellent. The chef was funny and honest and the decor was very rustic. Check out the art. It's really trippy.

G K.

Yelp
Went there to try something different. We thought they were closed, but you need to ring the door bell for them to buzz you in. The restaurant was empty except for us and one other person. The menu was diverse, but many of the items were "market price" (indicated by an asterisk). Had the Octopus salad (served cold) with plantains. It had red bell peppers, grape tomatoes, onions with a vinaigrette dressing. Good service on filling the water and checking on us. There were tiny ants on our table, but since our table was set next to a closed window figured they were coming in because of the rain. For the price, I like La Terraza better.

Emily D.

Yelp
Great decor inside and out. Fun collections of art and retro instruments including many paintings of Don Quixote by a local artist. Great service. Plenty of free parking on a week night. I had the mahi mahi special with pana tostones. Good, but not amazing. The music was nice but it seemed to be one song on a continuous loop.

Ana P.

Yelp
This restaurant is a staple restaurant in Dorado. It has been there since I can remember. I do not live in PR anymore but I grew up in this town. The owners have managed to maintain the quality in service and food. I love their ambiance. Beautiful paintings everywhere AND if you really like their art, you can buy it! Classic, romantic table setting. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. He suggested a great wine for our steak dinner. Although I have to say that I do not like that they do not offer the option of a wine list. I found it quite odd. For my entrée I ordered Lascas de Filete al Jerez. I asked for Medium rear and it was medium. I usually don't do this but I had to send it back, especially at the price that you pay. When my beef tenderloin came back it was perfect, heavenly even!! With a side of homemade French Fries that was absolutely delicious!! My mom and sister's orders were done perfectly. All in all we had a great time and will go back when we visit again. (I did not give it 5 stars because they do not have a wine list and because of my meat's temperature not being right the first time)

Betsy V.

Yelp
Great authentic puerto Rican cuisine. Art displayed are from authentic Puerto Rican artists. Bennie our server was awesome spoke English. Pallea delicious as well as homemade sangria.

Annie P.

Yelp
During our Honeymoon we stopped by El Ladrillo Steakhouse to celebrate my Birthday. Like others, we also thought they were closed, but finally tried ringing the door bell (right in front of our noses) and we were promptly buzzed in. Immediately we were set in this dim-lit romantic - artsy- relaxed atmosphere. Exactly my type of place. There was so much to see and artwork covering the walls to walk around and appreciate while you waited for your food to be prepared. We were greeted and sat by the manager (relative to the owner) and met our adorably kind server who took great care of us the entire night. Very laid back staff. We ordered the anillas de calamar appetizer - smaller portion- but delicious. For our main courses; we both ordered the New York cut sirloin grilled and served exactly to order with sides of their house mashed potato. Everything was so delicous that we ate every last crumb on our plates. I ordered a glass of the waiter's best recommendation for a Cabernet Sauvignon and what he brought out for me was THE BEST Chilean red wine I've ever tasted! It was fantastic and complimented my meal so well! Also, after hearing it was my Birthday the manager brought out our chocolate ice cream dessert (to my surprise: packed with rich fudge & blueberries) with an added birthday candle lit on top. It was a great way to end the day! Place was intimate, Service was great, Food was to die for, & we felt like we were the only two people there. I highly recommend you to check out El Ladrillo next time you're in Dorado -- We'll be Back!

Brandi R.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. I had the New York strip steak and it was so delicious. The service was amazing and I loved the decor in the restaurant. They offer freshly made bread with garlic oil. The steak tastes fresh like it is corn fed. It was a little overpriced but for the type of food I don't think it was that bad compared to what you would pay at a Ruth Chris. Also you have to try the Puerto Rican fried cheese with guys sauce ! Will return

Gabe M.

Yelp
Great little family place. I live the food the service and the wine! My daughters love the artwork. A must see if ever in Dorado!

Diego A R.

Yelp
I don't recommend this restaurant at all, we live far from the restaurant and we traveled almos 2 hours just for them to tell us that there were no available seats, the issue here is that we called and they said "we open at 6" we were obviously okay with that but they could have said that there were no available seats for that time, me and my family are all very angry at the restaurant.

Mark S.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place. So much character, charm, authentic, wine knowledge. Total dining experience!!

Mark B.

Yelp
What a gem!!! Great meal, great decor (fantastic artwork), nice staff. The couple with whom we had dinner spend much of the year in Dorado and brought us there because it is their favorite restaurant.....it is now my favorite restaurant in Dorado as well. Can't wait to go back.

Jordan H.

Yelp
Great restaurant. We ordered the paella which is Spanish rice with shrimp, octopus, fish, and other types of seafood. It was delicious as was the mango juice that he had. The ambient was very nice with soft music great lighting and amazing paintings. Highly recommend, it lived up to all our expectations!

Freddy M.

Yelp
My wife (Amanda) and I just got back from a visit to Puerto Rico, stayed in Dorado and found this very nice restaurant. The owners were very friendly, we had two different waiters (Tony and Benny), both very helpful, very polite and great attitudes. We ate here 3 different times! Paella was awesome! Hi Benny! From Arizona, take care all!

Steve D.

Yelp
Great experience! A shrimp entree and two filets with the red snapper. Amazing! Def recommend black bean soup and French onion. Enjoy!

Anthony S.

Yelp
This is a good sea food restaurant and the paella is excellent. However the wine list is not publicised and the waiter makes the price up....mind you if you are a tourist the price is jacked up. I was annoyed at the price he asked for a bottle of chardonnay...but I paid it.....so the waiter got no tip from me so that I get even with him....
