El Machico Hostel

Compared to other hostels in Panama its a little bit more expensive but it’s defenitily worth it. In the morning they bake pancakes with a nice smile for breakfast. Location is very good, go to lilia’s for coffee or lunch, best lunch spot in the city.

This is a budget hostel with some private ensuite rooms. We had a private room and at that price point it was an excellent choice. Nice staff, great facilities and a good location. Highly recommend for a budget option.

I had a really nice stay here. The location is great - close to lots of restaurants, cafés, and public transport. The staff and other guests were chill, and the overall vibe was relaxed and not loud. Definitely a good spot for both introverts and extroverts!

Many, many thanks to the Owners Jack and Alfonso! Your Hostel are so great and I really enjoyed my stay. The Rooms and Bathrooms are big and clean, they have a nice Pool and GTA for chill-days. I met here the nicest people and the vibe is such amazing. I'll come back ❤️

Very nice hostel, charming. Pool table, a pool, pancakes for breakfast. Well situated, near the restaurant, 15 min from the metro, and buses all around. The staff is very helpful and it’s easy to meet travellers 🌍

This is a courtesy message to appeal to the owners of the hotel and its management of the noise pollution they are causing on a residential area. We the neighbors of several buildings are subject to noise from guests up to midnight hours. Nothing wrong with having guests but they should have quiet hours. We will be attempting to address this matter with the local authorities as they ignore numerous phone calls to keep the noise down.

This hostel is not terrible but not the best experience. Female 8 bed is really cramped and beds not comfortable, with several mattresses broken. When we tried to communicate this with staff and attempt to organise a bed swap they weren't particularly helpful. The biggest issue was that there were nowhere near enough toilets for all guests. Had to queue for half an hour to use one toilet in the morning. We even had a problem with men trying to use the bathroom in the female dorm. Breakfast is not great either. Ended up buying this out anyway. Well situated and clean enough but I've experienced better hostels and wouldn't choose it again unfortunately!
