There are two small towns on Vieques, Isabel II in the north and Esperanza in the south. El Malecon, the main drag in Esperanza, is where all restaurants, shops, and nightlife (ie beach bars) are located. It is about a 15-minute drive from Isabel II to Esperanza over paved roads in good condition. The roads to many of the beaches and throughout the western part of the island are unpaved and have potholes. An all-terrain vehicle is essential.

Gorgeous little promenade along the ocean in Esperanza. Great spots for photo ops! What a pleasure to stroll and watch the waves and the boats.

Esperanza has an old pier and a small beach. There is a street parallel to the ocean with great views. The sunsets are beautiful! The street has some great restaurants and bars on the other side. You can also find UTV and kayak rentals here. We also found a few bio bay and snorkeling tour places.

The place to see and be seen. Nice stretch of road with views of the beach on one side and restaurants and places to stay in the other. Excellent for a walk or to connect with other travelers. Easy access to nearby beaches.

We had the best time in vieques and were so happy with beautiful Malecon house. They reached out several times prior to our stay to help us with booking any tours we wanted to go on, getting a feel for transportation options and to make sure we were all set the day before arrival. Cannot recommend their service highly enough! The property faces the ocean, has a beautiful pool, and is steps away from Esperanza restaurants and a beautiful small beach, perfect for morning and evening walks.

Beautiful streach of beach and gorgeous views lined with local street venders and restaurants on the opposite side. Untouched by the hurricane, remains a classic place to soak up Puerto Rico's finest

La Esperanza! I fell in love with this beautiful city because of its people and the nice beaches. The sand is not my favorite as is too rough and not powdery but still beautiful. Lots of quenepas trees and expensive restaurants but there’s food available if you get hungry. There’s a swing on a coconut palm right on the beach and sea glass of you look.

Lovely beach, with a broken pier that can be used for a jump, good for snorkeling as you will find a lot of sea life under the pier. But be careful to go close to the pillar as you could hurt yourself
