We visited this resort in the beginning of Sept 2025. Isaac greeted us and walked us around the property to show us the different pools and around the property which was a nice touch. Every single staff member was above and beyond in customer service. Truly everyone wanted to be on a first name basis with their guests. Eloisa was so gracious to explain each drink at the bar and Orlando and Jonathan gave personal an attentive service. Dinner and drinks menu were definitely one of a kind. The food was nothing less than Spectacular! We did a whale watching tour and Jose, David and Martin went the next level to make sure we were taken care of and found whales! Yes, we saw a Humpback mom and her babies on the tour in the first 10 minutes! Amazing! The only downsides to this resort is eating is all outdoors, minimum evening entertainment (guitarist) to maybe none. Other than that, I have zero complaints about this resort. It is truly one of a kind resort, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for true relaxation with outstanding food and service!

The resort is surrounded by lush nature and has direct access to a gorgeous, peaceful beach. The pools are stunning, especially the ones with views of the gulf — watching the sunset from there with a drink in hand is unforgettable. The design blends perfectly with the environment, making you feel close to nature while still enjoying all the comfort and luxury of a modern hotel. The restaurants are excellent as well. I especially enjoyed Makoko, which offers a delicious breakfast and transforms into a beautiful spot for dinner in the evening when the lights around the pool create a romantic atmosphere.||We booked several tours with nomadtourscr and everything was incredible from start to finish. We also arranged our airport transfers with them, which made the trip so easy the drivers were professional, always on time, and the vans were spotless.||The excursions were the highlight of our vacation! The La Leona Waterfall hike was absolutely stunning, and the zipline was such a thrill. We also loved exploring the rainforest. Our kids were treated with so much care, and the guides went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt safe and had an amazing time.

I love this hotel! I’m a Marriott Platinum member and travel often, and will definitely be coming back here! It has been somewhat quiet being low season here, but I prefer this. The restaurants and staff are wonderful, and I just had an INCREDIBLE 60 minute Aromatic massage with Lorien. Wow. I get massages at least 1x/month in California, and she is hands down one of the very best I have experienced. Amazing. I’m in heaven. You will not be disappointed. My friends and I are having the best time!

“Pura Vida!” My wife, son, and I just wrapped up an amazing trip at the El Mangroove Papagayo Hotel in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. From start to finish, the team there made everything smooth, fun, and memorable.||Hotel Team||Jose was a total pro, pulling strings and organizing all kinds of services for us. Marvin ran a rum tasting that was both fun and legit educational. At the restaurants and pool, Brian, Javier, and Kervin kept us dialed in, and the food everywhere was excellent. Fresh, creative, and consistently impressive, whether it was breakfast, dinner, or poolside bites. And Esteban deserves a special shout-out, not only did he take great care of us, but his coffee tasting and deep dive into beans, roasting, and flavor profiles was world-class.||Javier, the Restaurant Manager, always checked in on us with a bright, happy, and super accommodating style, making sure we were enjoying the food and experience every day. Camila and Natalia at the front desk handled our check-in and kept things moving with reservations and services across the property. Their “yes, we can” attitude made everything effortless. Carlos and Diego at the front door/bell services were everywhere we needed them to be, handling luggage, airport transfers, sharing property knowledge, even keeping us dry in surprise rain showers, all while bringing positive, jovial energy to every interaction.||Adventures & Excursions||David from Tico Tours gave us one of the most epic side-by-side tours I’ve ever been on. Jungle trails, hidden beaches, cliffside views… and all while dropping knowledge about local nature, geology, history, and community. Top-notch guide.||Then there’s Esteban and David from Azul Adventures, they had us covered across three unreal excursions:||First, jet skis that were in pristine condition (fast + fun), with sightings of turtles, dolphins, monkeys, caves, and beaches you can only dream about.||Second, a snorkeling run with crazy amounts of sea life, fish everywhere, turtles cruising, secluded beaches to explore. Tons of fun.||Third, a fishing trip where we saw whales, dolphins, and more turtles, and actually landed a rainbow runner. They sliced it up sashimi-style with all the fixings, and the hotel turned the rest into an incredible dinner that night.||Bottom line: stellar hospitality, fantastic food, and wild adventures in one of the most beautiful places I’ve been. Huge thanks to everyone who made it special for us. We’ll be back. Pura Vida!

Love my stay at El Mangroove Guanacaste. The staff is great and attention to detail was superb. Natalia (front desk), Esteban and all the staff members were so nice and friendly. Appreciate all the details. The property is beautiful just in front of the beach and if you want to chill and relax this is the place!

My daughter Olivia and I had the pleasure of staying at El Mangroove Marriott Hotel in Costa Rica this August, and I can honestly say it was one of the most memorable travel experiences we’ve had together. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and genuinely cared for throughout our stay.||We were kindly greeted by Isaac and Cesar, whose warmth and professionalism made us feel instantly at ease. During our entire stay, Natalia was especially attentive—always available and happy to assist with anything we needed. The service across the resort was exceptional; the staff made us feel seen, cared for, and completely at home.||The rooms and shared spaces were immaculately clean, modern, and thoughtfully designed. We loved the open-air layout and how the natural surroundings were seamlessly integrated—it created such a peaceful and relaxing environment.||We especially looked forward to the breakfast buffet each morning, which offered a generous variety of authentic and traditional Costa Rican dishes alongside familiar favorites. It was the perfect way to start each day, and the flavors truly reflected the culture and care behind every meal.||The amenities were excellent—the pool was beautiful and well-maintained, the beachfront was quiet and scenic, and every area felt calm and inviting. The overall atmosphere was the perfect mix of laid-back and luxurious, with a unique connection to the surrounding nature and Costa Rican charm.||This was the ideal mother-daughter getaway, and we left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and grateful. The resort was clean and well maintained, and the staff were on top of it and provided the best service I have ever received during my years of travel. We ventured out for meals but Makoko had the best food during our stay. We also really enjoyed our spa treatments. I am currently planning another stay at the resort, it was that amazing.

This is an incredible resort. Quick twenty minute drive from the airport. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are superb, love the hammock! The adults only pool is pure relaxation. The poolside service is excellent, too. The beach is serene and a great three mile run from side to side. Breakfast buffet was top notch! Beautiful hotel grounds. Nice gym, small, but enough to get a workout in. 10/10, can’t wait for my next visit!
