El Mangroove, Autograph Collection

We just returned from an incredible week at El Mangroove, Autograph Collection, and I can’t say enough about the outstanding experience we had. From the moment we arrived, the level of service was simply ESPECTACULAR. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay special.||A huge shoutout to Maria José and Valeria at the spa — their massages were absolutely phenomenal. Beyond their skill, their kindness and professionalism made us feel completely at ease. It was one of the most relaxing spa experiences we’ve ever had!||We also loved spending time at the adults-only pool cabana area. The cabana space was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the service there was impeccable. Whether it was drinks, towels, or just checking in to make sure we had everything we needed — the staff had it covered.||And let’s talk about the breakfast... AMAZING! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was the perfect way to start each day. Honestly, the food and drinks throughout the resort were consistently excellent, both in quality and presentation.||The entire atmosphere at El Mangroove is pure relaxation. Whether we were lounging by the pool, enjoying a spa treatment, or dining under the stars, we always felt cared for. It's the kind of place where you can truly unwind and let go of stress.||We’re already dreaming about our next trip back. Thank you to everyone at El Mangroove for making our stay so memorable!

This is an incredible resort. Quick twenty minute drive from the airport. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are superb, love the hammock! The adults only pool is pure relaxation. The poolside service is excellent, too. The beach is serene and a great three mile run from side to side. Breakfast buffet was top notch! Beautiful hotel grounds. Nice gym, small, but enough to get a workout in. 10/10, can’t wait for my next visit!

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel truly welcome. Check-in was smooth, and as a Marriott Platinum member, I was kindly offered all the expected perks, even though a room upgrade wasn’t possible due to high occupancy.||We were taken to our room in a golf cart, and once we arrived, a staff member gave us a quick walk-through of the space. There was a thoughtful welcome snack waiting for us along with a handwritten note, which was a nice touch.||One of the things we really enjoyed was the beach. It’s technically public, but it felt almost private because there were so few people around—peaceful, clean, and perfect for relaxing. We even bought fresh coconut water from a friendly local vendor right by the shore, which added to the whole Costa Rican experience.||The resort encouraged us to explore at our own pace, which we appreciated. Everything felt calm and peaceful—perfect for a tropical getaway.||We booked our airport transfers and a few excursions with Gabriel from Nomad Tours Costa Rica. He was super helpful through WhatsApp and gave us great recommendations.||We did Diamante Adventure park, a waterfall hike with a tasty local lunch, a river tour where we saw monkeys and crocodiles, and my husband and son had a blast on an ATV ride. All tours were private.||Gabriel was very organized and kept us informed at every step. I highly recommend Nomad Tours for anyone visiting the area.

We stayed recently for a big wedding. The Hotel is top notch from the clean beautiful spacious rooms to the wonderful staff. Everything was perfect. The location is right on the beach, Guanacaste Costa Rica is so tropical and beautiful!! Back to the staff the pool/cabana staff went above and beyond for us every day. The Breakfast Buffet was massive and so fresh and dinner at night was equally as good. I can’t wait to go back to the lush tropical paradise.

Absolutely the best hospitality we have ever experienced. From check-in to check-out, the attention to our requests was their focus. Even the most mundane was treated like an edict from royalty. I want to point out several people who stood out because they absolutely went above and beyond to make our stay the grandest experience.|||We also did the La Leona Waterfall hike with Julio, which was absolutely amazing, and the rainforest tour with Ronald — both were unforgettable. Every guide made our trip special. Highly recommend Nomad Tours if you’re visiting Costa Rica, especially around the Peninsula Papagayo area!

We had a wonderful time - and the staff was very attentive and friendly. In particular, we absolutely loved the excursions we took with the Azul Ocean Adventures team (Beach Exploration and Fishing Charter). The boat crew was spectacular - Justin and Esteban were the very best! |At the hotel, the staff was awesome, though they seemed a little overwhelmed/understaffed at times.

Our stay was amazing. Everything service food, weather and the entire staff. Rooms were great! I'm a platinum bonvoy member (which doesn't mean much these days) and based on the photos of the property, expected something more luxurious than reality. It wasn't by any means bad, the main pool area is beautiful. The family pool area was very weird, there were no lights at evening time so all the kids are just stumbling around swimming in the dark. The rooms were decent. Service was good. Food was decent. They have free water sport rentals like kayaks which was nice. Overall it was fine but the way the hotel is marketed leads you to believe that it is much more luxurious than it actually is.
