Our stay at El MaPi Hotel in Machu Picchu was absolutely wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful, modern, and welcoming, with a relaxing atmosphere that feels like the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. The attention to detail, comfort, and overall ambiance made our experience truly memorable.||A special highlight of our stay was the exceptional service in the restaurant, especially from Roger, our waiter. Roger went above and beyond to make every meal enjoyable. He was incredibly attentive, warm, and genuinely accommodating, always making sure we had everything we needed and more. His professionalism and kindness truly stood out and added a personal touch that made us feel well cared for.||El MaPi is a fantastic hotel with outstanding service, and Roger’s hospitality perfectly reflects the high standards of the staff. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Machu Picchu and would gladly stay here again.

An excellent option when planning a leisurely visit to Machu Picchu. Centrally located, well maintained, friendly staff, good food, comfortable rooms. Aguas Calientes is v touristy so if you want quiet, ask for quiet room. We did and slept well. Note no tea or coffee facilities in standard rooms and checkout is 10am. That meant during the day the lobby was full of former guests waiting to catch the train back to Cusco. Overall would recommend.

El MaPi Hotel is exactly what you would expect when booking a place in the heart of town. You’re surrounded by countless shops and restaurants in every direction, so a certain level of noise is to be expected in such a dense area. The hotel’s interior is appealing and the hallways appear recently renovated, though the rooms themselves could benefit from an update. Inside the room, there’s nowhere to place toiletries in the shower, the bathroom vent is loud—almost like a gas lawnmower—and the small shower drain causes water to back up quickly. On the positive side, the breakfast offers an excellent assortment of fresh fruit along with a good variety of baked goods. Rooms above the 2nd floor that face the mountains provide excellent views. It’s also important to note that there is no air conditioning in the rooms. After exploring the entire town, I can confidently say that El MaPi is one of the better hotel options in the area, especially considering its central location and the attractive aesthetic of the property.

First of all, by far the worst service of any hotel we've ever stayed at in South America, which to be fair is only about 15 places across Ecuador, Galapagos, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Peru. On the bright side, our guide Ronald was fantastic and Carol at the front desk was very helpful. The restaurant staff were disorganized, poorly trained and just seemed lost. The "supervisor" in the restaurant for dinner on our first night December 14, 2025 was rude and generally not helpful. I would definitely seek other accommodations if I were to return to Machu Picchu.

Room was spacious, but very basic. Robes were provided. Food for dinner and breakfast was better than average. Location is central to all. For those that care, there is no A/C. I usually like A/C, but left windows (really a sliding door size) open and I was comfortable. Stayed in October.

Decidedly average. Meal in restaurant was ok, but bread was stale. Looked better than it tasted. Overly sweet. No flannels or shower soap provided. Small radiator does not heat whole room

I was extremely disappointed with my stay. The lobby looked nice, but the room was far from four-star quality — four star where? There was mold on the shower ceiling, and when I asked to switch rooms, the staff said they couldn’t and would just “clean it.” Later, the water from the sink came out brown, and I was told all rooms had the same issue. Completely unacceptable and unsanitary — I would never stay here again and don’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
