El Mesón de Clemente

The location is idyllic to catch the sunset with a balcony dining area outside the restaurant - however after sundown it does get chilly. The waiting staff were excellent and attentive. The cooked goats cheese was a bit rubbery and the lamb which was recommended was cooked on the bbq and somewhat lacking in flavour and was a bit tough- however we were aware of it being bbqed so I guess it was a bad decision as our preference is for oven cooked lamb. The restaurant was busy so perhaps we made bad choices. We did manage to get a very nice bottle of wine

The food at Clemente is excellent. The canarian cheese paste, garlic mushrooms and charcuterie board starters are seriously authentic and delicious. You cannot go wrong with the steak or lamb chops for the main, I would suggest the peppercorn sauce for steaks over the other offers. Wash it down with a chilled rioja and you will hit red meat eater nirvana.

Best local and international food. Amazing bar with all types of drinks available. Best views on their balcony if the weather allows. Managed by the owners.

The food is very expensive but not tasty at all.. the fresh fish filet was filled with bones and steak was not superbad but the sauce was very salt and not fresh . presentation off the food with dried out lemon and dry salad. There were too bugs in the breadbasket and well... let's leave it with this..además I told the waiter that we did not like the food at all but they did not anything about that.. not a word not a gesture in the bill... nada. I would not recomment this restaurant...lo siento time for Gordon Ramsey...

Excellent food, great location, biggest steak I’ve ever had. They’ll sort a taxi there and back for you. Highly recommended.

Such a shame for such an amazingly decorated place. The taxi that was called for us by the restaurant (to collect and bring us to it), was late by 45 minutes so we missed the one thing we really went there for… the sunset. When we called to check for the status of our taxi, it seemed as if they had completely forgotten about us. Once there, they did apologise. However, we were put in the corner of the restaurant and seemingly forgotten about. We asked for bread and sauce 4 times before it was given to us and waited 25/30 minutes before our orders were taken, given the 45 minute delay in the first place. They took the wrong orders for our starters and gave people random dishes for their mains. This left us to shuffle the oven hot plates around, to those who ordered them. The whole evening was a bit of a nuisance unfortunately and the food was really bang average. The steaks were swimming in sauces and we ended up getting our food as late as 9:30pm - very disappointed

Fantastic meat, local food and really friendly staff

Don't stop here unless you a) have all the time in the world, b) like torture or c) have no other choice. We stopped here during a long hike for a quick bite. t took us 15' to get the waiters attention and get our order in for sausages, grilled cheese, 2 salads and 2 cordon bleu's. 25 minutes after putting our order in the waiter came back to say they were out of sausage. Another 35 minutes later the cheese and 2 salads arrived. The waiter must have been angry with us and try to kill us with way too much dressing. Salad of the house wasn't special at all. Another 15' later the cordon bleu's for the boys arrived. Luckily they tasted good. Wouldn't come back here unless we had no other choice, there aren't a lot of options around here. Better: pack your own lunch while hiking.
