El Minzah Hotel

We loved our stay. We found the staff to be efficient and attentive. The beds and linens were very comfortable, and the bars and restaurants were elegant and appealing. Great views of the harbor. It was cold and rainy (January) so we didn’t get to swim in the beautiful pool. One member of our party raved at the quality of her massage and i enjoyed the gym equipment. Gorgeous building; prime location.

I stayed at the El Minzah Hotel Tangier for several weeks during the summer, and my experience was consistently positive throughout my stay. From the initial check-in, the front desk staff were professional, courteous, and efficient. I also had the opportunity to dine at several of the hotel’s restaurants, all of which provided excellent service and a pleasant dining experience. The hotel is very well located, situated between the old city (the Medina) and the newer part of the city. This central location makes many attractions easily accessible on foot. In addition, the area felt very safe, which contributed greatly to the overall comfort of our stay. I would like to extend special recognition to Farida from the housekeeping team, who maintained our room to an exceptional standard. She was consistently kind, attentive, and meticulous in her work, ensuring that my family and I were always comfortable and lacked nothing. Her manager, the housekeeping governor, was also frequently present and attentive, regularly checking in to ensure our needs were being met. The only minor inconvenience during our stay was that the elevator was temporarily out of service on a few occasions. However, as we were accommodated on the third floor, this did not significantly impact our experience. Overall, the hotel provided a comfortable, well-managed, and enjoyable stay, and I would confidently recommend it to others.

Classic hotel with old-world charm. The dinner service was excellent, and the staff were very welcoming. The food quality is high, especially the local dishes. It’s a bit pricey, but worth it for the history and the beautiful architecture. A great spot for a special evening.

My stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The location was also convenient, close to key attractions and essential services. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I was amazed by my stay at El Minzah Hotel. I originally picked this hotel because of its location but it actually became a large part of enjoying my visit to Tangier. Dinner was a very cultural experience with a Moroccan folk music group accompanied by some belly dancing made dining there an immersive cultural experience. I would like to stay there again if I get the chance to return to Tangier.

Expensive for what it is which I would rate as 3 star by international standards in what is a modern port city (not the self rated 5). Yes had hot water but ineffective noisy plumbing, old chipped decor, thin walls and tv reception didn’t work. Checked in 5 pm tried to get news and no tv reception, reported and no action or feedback by reception. Went to use indoor pool and sauna as a married couple -no signs as to whether mixed male and female access possible in any room instructions ( there was no guide as to the hotel facilities advertised when you book and how to access them) or instructions at pool/sauna when we found it. Had to walk up and down stairs through multiple add on buildings to get to what was a cramped sauna. A local man who uses gym/sauna opened door and apologised when he found me as a (clothed) woman and her husband sat in the sauna but when he later came back as no other options he was a nice chap to talk to. Long convoluted and poorly signed walk back to room. Food in hotel seemed ok but nothing special. Loud music from bar made it impossible to get to sleep. Reported music to Ahmed at reception at 2200 (when he eventually answered the operator not reception telephone line) who said this was normal until 2300 -this was a Friday night. The next morning we reported disappointment in noise levels to Saturday morning manager as we checked out who told us the music ceased at 2230 ( it did not!), he also told us this is normal and he had upgraded us (omg if that was an upgrade… ) and basically was dismissive and didn’t care to have any guest feedback. Photos of the old hotel and guests paraded on walls from a time when there was no competition-this hotel appears to live off past glories. Expensive for what it is and relative to other hotels and Riads in the week we have travelled in Morocco as a family.

It was a joy to stay at El Minzah Hotel. It is a traditional hotel and the staff wear traditional uniforms. The staff were very professional, courteous and helpful. Most of them speak English. The location is perfect for those who are "hygiene cautious" as it is very central and quick to return to when required. There are 2 restaurants and a bar - all are of very high standards and the food was delicious. It was a bit pricey, however knowing that it was of a high, safe standard was very reassuring to us and the price was a cheap insurance for our western tummies! We travelled by ferry and the hotel is in close proximity to the Port. There is a bit of a climb at one stage, though it's only short so it didn't bother us. El Minzah is very central to all attractions and taxis are available at anytime. I highly recommend this hotel. 🤗

Beautiful historic hotel. Easy check in with our booking. Very courteous and professional service. |Decor is absolutely stunning! We were very pleased with our room and found it to be very comfortable. |Breakfast was served in a beautiful room or patio. Selection was very good and delicious. |We were booked for only one night stay during our travels in Morocco. Truly a week staying there and in Tangier would be perfect! Highly recommend!
