El Mirador in Todos Santos, Mexico, is nothing short of a culinary and aesthetic masterpiece! Nestled in the rolling hills along the breathtaking Pacific coast of Baja Sur, this restaurant offers panoramic views that are simply awe-inspiring—each glance at the horizon feels like a gift. The stonework construction is a marvel, blending rustic Mexican charm with an authentic, timeless elegance that elevates the entire experience. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we tried was a work of art. The pasta was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor; the lamb was tender and exquisitely seasoned; and the seafood was fresh, vibrant, and impeccably prepared. Each bite was a testament to the world-class culinary expertise behind the scenes. The drinks were equally spectacular—creative, refreshing, and perfectly crafted to complement the meal. What truly sets El Mirador apart is the serene, almost magical ambiance. It’s the most tranquil and pleasant dining experience I’ve ever had, a perfect harmony of nature, architecture, and gastronomy. The staff’s warmth and attentiveness only added to the joy of the evening. I’m already counting down the days until I can return with my family to share this unforgettable experience. El Mirador is a must-visit gem that exceeds every expectation. Highly, highly recommended!

Google
El Mirador Ocean View Restaurant in Todos Santos is hands down one of the best dining experiences we had during our entire trip through Baja. The combination of outstanding food, jaw-dropping views, and exceptional service makes this place an absolute must-visit. Perched up on a mountain overlooking the Pacific, the setting is something special. Even at noon, with the sun shining bright, it was surprisingly chilly and windy due to the elevation—definitely bring a sweater or light jacket if you plan to sit outside (which you absolutely should). The breeze and the panoramic ocean view create a vibe that’s hard to beat. The road to it is kind of scary and Absolutely, here’s the paragraph you can add to the review: Getting to the restaurant is part of the adventure. The road leading up is unpaved and winds up the mountain with one particularly steep section, but nothing our rental car couldn’t handle. Just take it slow and steady—it’s absolutely worth it once you arrive. The remote location only adds to the charm and exclusivity of the experience. The food? Flawless. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—definitely the best we had in the area. Whether it was seafood, cocktails, or dessert, everything hit the mark. A big shoutout to Luis, our server, who truly made the experience memorable. Not only was he incredibly attentive and friendly, but he also shared a ton of interesting info about the area’s culture, history, and even local legends. It felt more like a private guided experience than just lunch. El Mirador lives up to its name in every sense. Five stars, and we’ll be back without a doubt.

Up on a hill with an incredible view. The architecture and design of the restaurant is beautiful. Food and service were excellent and the music playing added to an experience that was excellent! Highly recommended.

Google
This place deserves nothing less than 5 stars. The view, the service, the food, how attentive and caring the staff is. Highly recommended.

Google
I had an incredible experience at this restaurant! The stunning ocean view complemented the fine food perfectly. The nicest waiter made me feel very welcome, and the peaceful atmosphere was just what I needed. Plus, the thoughtful touch of providing blankets made it a place to both eat, meditate, and celebrate the sunset. Highly recommend!

Google
This was an all-around great dining experience. The food was good, there was live music, and the service was top-notch. We got a reservation for just before sunset, that was a mistake. We cooked in the sun, until the sun went down. I would recommend getting a reservation 10 to 15 minutes before sunset, unless it’s a cloudy day cooler. it was clear that most patrons were getting baked in the sun. I’ll definitely be back

Google
This is a treat on so many levels. Sunset, ambiance, food and cocktails that were all excellent. It’s a little pricey and requires a bumpy ride from Todos Santos but you will not regret it. I had the pulpo which was perfectly cooked with a smoky sauce and potatos. The jamaica mezcalita and tuna tartar were excellent!

Yelp
Beautiful spot to watch the sunset. Off the beaten path and sitting high on one of the cliffs along the Baja coast, the ambience and service are both better than the food itself. I would recommend going for a drink at the very least and sitting on the lone bench. Dinner was fine, but nothing that will leave you wow'ed. We had the osso bucco and the risotto. Both portions were really small and in the $600 MXN range (about $30-40 US) depending on the exchange. As long as you go in with the mindset that you're really paying for the views, you shouldn't leave disappointed.

Yelp
We went there for early dinner and were accommodated without a reservation. The ambiance was very good but same cannot be said for service. It is rushed and feels a bit invasive. The food was just ok. Octopus was not good, Seafood pasta was very good, so was fish of the day. I will definitely not be back. By the way, if you come here mostly for the view just drive to Punta Lobos, visible from the restaurant and enjoy for free. Attached are some photos from our hike earlier in the day

Yelp
A wonderful farm to table restaurant on the top of a mountain with a spectacular view of the ocean. The hummus and beet appetizers are a great way to start. For the entree try the pork belly or octopus. But regardless of what you order, the view is one of the best in Mexico.

Yelp
Amazing ambience, with best view on the Pacific! Outstanding fettuccine with fresh shrimp, scallops and muscles.

Yelp
Tough one.... very touristy which is fine. Very expensive which again is ok. Here is the breakdown: Views and sunset 5 stars Food and wine 4.5 stars Service 2 stars Price 2.5 stars (based solely on other comparable places) The wine as an example, were good but the one Chardonnay they had... they didn't have. Urrgghh. Sashimi was delicious and good portion. Cheese plate looked fabulous but way too much fir two people. Could have had a half portion. All in all, good fir an appetizer and cocktail plus an amazing sunset. Move inside for dinner. Lastly, tough road to drive up. Be careful driving down.

Yelp
The only positive aspect of my experience was the view. The sun setting into the ocean horizon was gorgeous and worth the visit. I was really surprised with the lackluster service, it was unexpectedly subpar. I'm not sure if the waiter was having an off night but there was no warm hospitality. No introduction of himself and provided the bare minimum pleasantries. We received an empty breadbasket with crumbs, so apparently had already been used at another table. This was a first for me. Of course not the end of the world but just odd. I had to ask for water which took 20 minutes and it wasn't that busy. The sea bass was terrible, overcooked, minimal flavor. The rib eye was good and the beet appetizer. I really don't think I expect over the top service with all dinners but I would like to have at least decent service. The Phoenix airport restaurant I ate at on during my layover had better service and they were super busy.

Yelp
Best view in town! and the food is outstanding!! the shrimp, octopus and fish were cooked to perfection and the flavors were juat on point! Everything was delicious! We also had the tomato salad with burrata and the molten lava cake, all were perfect!!

Yelp
Spectacular view but a one visit experience - the staff are very nice - but the food is average and extremely overpriced so it's empty once the view has gone - needs a serious makeover - better and cheaper food and the place would be full and amazing - but now it's tired

Yelp
The food is good, but you come here for the sunset. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is because we came specifically on a Sunday for live jazz music. We called and made a reservation and let them know that was specifically why we wanted to visit. No music that night, but the sunset was perfect. To start we had the muscles, Barata salad, and gazpacho soup. The food was so good that I forgot to take a photo our our entrees before we ate all of it. We had the grilled octopus and seafood pasta paired nicely with a bottle of white wine.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Ambiance spectacular as well as service. Just be sure to request sage pot - flies come visit when they smell the food.

Yelp
Beware, their credit card machine can be "down" so bring peso's. We were planning on paying with a card so instead we over paid by 50$ American because it was American money and not peso's (we were out after shopping in todos santos). We did the conversion and included a good tip but the manager came out and said we needed to pay more since they had to convert the money. Having said that the view is amazing, just be careful of the management.

Yelp
Our server German was the sweetest. Usually with restaurants that have that stunning view, I don't expect much on the food front. I was so wrong. The burrata + tomato + strawberry was clean and delicious. The shrimp (giant suckers!) were out of this world. Service was attentive + lovely. And that sunset view, oh my word. So magical. Driving down the bumpy dirt road is just part of the overall experience, with this gorgeous giant palapa to greet you, a sunset to take in, and delicious food to eat.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming to El Mirador for a few years now as it has become our tradition when we come to Todos Santos; We enjoy their food, views, and SERVICE. I emphasize service because there are plenty of restaurants with exquisite views and delicious menus. It's the service that distinguishes one from the others. The restaurant industry is a service industry as much, if not more than just a fine cuisine experience. On April 9th my husband planned our date night and we were so excited to spend the evening at our favorite restaurant, El Mirador. We had good wine, a delicious meal, and watched the majestic sunset. We were having such a special evening we were the last ones to leave as they began to close the restaurant. As we were driving down the road leaving the restaurant I noticed my bracelet was missing. I immediately informed my husband and he went to turn around to head back to the restaurant, the gates were already locked. So we called the restaurant and they informed me that they open at 1pm tomorrow and will be able to look for it. We informed them that this bracelet was extremely important to me and it was a gift from my father. I was distraught for the rest of the night into the next day. This bracelet was a special gift from my father, that had passed away last year from cancer. The next day we arrived 1pm sharp and started looking EVERYWHERE. The search was unsuccessful. We gave them my information incase it was to show up. 2 weeks have past and still no bracelet. 2 of the waiters were helpful with the search but not the waiter that waited us that evening. I am heartbroken to have lost the bracelet and we are both disappointed in the lack of compassion towards its return. We will never visit El Mirador again. They've lost loyal customers and I'll be sure to share my experience along with better recommendations when it comes to views, cuisine, and SERVICE!!

Yelp
Great view, especially at sunset time. Drinks are ok, food is average, service is ok.

Yelp
Everything was beautifully prepared and the service was relaxed but professional. The views and landscaping are exquisite! Ceviche and shrimp stuffed chili relents were delicious. Though we were full we couldn't resist sharing a flan.

Yelp
Worth it for the view but as far as everything else is concerned, definitely not the best in Todos Santos. The sunset and views were divine. The attentiveness in which we were greeted great, they quickly assembled enough chairs overlooking the ocean, as we got there right on the cusp of the sun setting. However, as soon as the sun was gone, the crowd entirely dispersed and we were the only ones left for dinner time. I ordered the chicken adobe, which was good but slightly under seasoned. The plate was supposed to come with rosemary potatoes, which I was looking forward to however my plate came with none. I asked the waiter to confirm if I hadn't read it incorrectly and he confirmed I was right and rushed off to the kitchen, only to come back like 10 minutes later to tell me they had none and I'd be getting a plate of French fries instead. By this time I was almost done with my chicken. You know, I would've understood if they initially told me they were out of potatoes but I guess my bigger issue was being served the dish and then kind of expecting me to not really say anything or notice it? That I didn't like. But I appreciate the effort, I suppose. The pesto pasta was delicious and fresh. However when my boyfriend's mom asked for salt and some Parmesan it took about 10 minutes to arrive at which point it was cold and she wasn't able to enjoy it as much. You know I would understand if it was busy or they had customers but we were the ONLY people there and they had a staff of at least 7. We also had to ask for waters twice at the beginning as well. It seemed like the server didn't actually have a lot of server experience so that may have something to do with it? He was very nice though. My boyfriend wasn't crazy about his Jamaica reduction but that was more a personal thing; he did state his steak was slightly chewy and very under seasoned. Tldr; Overall it was an okay experience. The food was decent, the service was okay, and the view was incredible.

Yelp
Beautiful views all around-- especially for sunset. The food was delicious with so many different flavors. Extensive drink menu but smaller food menu. We always try to stop by when we visit. Worth it. Food was so good I forgot to take pictures.

Debbie B.

Yelp
Excellent environment, great food, fabulous service. Great view! Steak tartare, ribeye, pasta, potatoes and dessert were phenomenal. Great wine recommendation- Ricardo and his crew are some of the best in the business!!

Yelp
Food was delicious and fresh. Pricey but the location is superb. Service was good. Would recommend for a special night out

Casey A.

Yelp
Even that gorgeous view can't make up for the (lack of) food/drink quality and service at this cost. Unless you're staying at the associated hotel, I'd put this low on your list of places to visit in the area.

Yelp
This place is magical for sunset cocktails and dinner. I highly recommend when visiting this area!

Yelp
This is a truly amazing restaurant with service, food quality and preparation more like large cities that down a long dirt road. The view of the Pacific is totally amazing and sunset should not be missed. Like Nepehthe. This price is reasonable for what this restaurant is although the road is a bit of a challenge and is one reason to get a 4WD in Todos Santos but a small regular car will be OK too. We had the pear salad which was wonderful. The fish catch of the day was perfectly cooked and was a good portion. The seafood pasta was outstanding as well. Reservations are a good idea and in cooler weather a light jacket will keep you warm.

Dj C.

Yelp
Unfortunately we drove up the horrible, bumpy road to have drinks & maybe an appetizer at 2:00 & were told we couldn't stay unless we each ordered some food with our drinks (couldn't share). Had a "could care less" attitude, so we left. If they hadn't been so jerky, we probably would have ordered lots anyways...

Yelp
We came for the view. We stayed for the food. Oftentimes restaurants with great views have mediocre food and lousy service. But we were blown away by how great the food was and how wonderful the service was -- especially Luis and Abraham. We will definitely come back.

Yelp
Yummy Octopus here and margaritas!!' Loved the ambiance and our server!!! Leiah lost her sunglasses but what a beautiful place/view !

Yelp
This has got to be one of the most scenic restaurants I have eaten top 5 for sure. We arrived with a party of 30 people an hour before sunset and everyone was amazed. You're totally alone on this mountain top overlooking the ocean. The food is also really good, and on the fancier side, but still affordable as compared with the states. The cocktails were delicious and the fish was all super fresh. Someone in our group also mentioned they enjoyed one of the better steaks they had ever had.

Daniel P.

Yelp
OK, the drive up is a bit washboard and a dusty trail ... but once you get there the view is tremendous. The service is well done. Have a drink k and enjoy the Todos Santos sunset!!
google avatar

Kim C.

Yelp
Unfortunately we missed the sunset, which is what most people seemed to be there for. The service was a little slow, but the food was better than I expected.

Darrin S.

Yelp
What a beautiful place! The ceviche is wonderful as well as their guacamole dip. Their Cadillac margarita and bloody Mary's are smooth and wonderful. The view was priceless as well as the sunset. THEN! Then... the whale watching was amazing. It was a gray whale highway was so very active.

Ashley V.

Yelp
Great hidden location serving up good food in the perfect setting. Presentation was beautiful and the service was on point with everyone working hard to be sure all guests felt special and accommodated. The views were amazing and the sunset was incredible. It made for the perfect unforgettable date night and was the highlight of our trip. Highly recommend.

Laura W.

Yelp
This was a lovely location and they do their best to treat you right. They have some Mexican wines, but they could not say what exactly they were other than the grape. They were OK. The food was really good. The best thing was the raw fish appetizer. This is a fairly pricey special date location. The staff was a little new and maybe short handed. We had to ask several times for water and we might have gotten a bottle of wine if they had asked us in time, but my glass of Chardonnay with the fish was fine. My husband loved his fish, but I did not just because of personal taste. It was cooked wonderfully, but being marlin, the catch of the day was a bit strongly flavored for me. It was served in the Italian manner with some cannelini beans. I cannot eat dairy and they took great care of me. The non-dairy dessert was a kind of ice homemade and it was too die for.

Ellen S.

Yelp
The place and view are amazing. The drinks delicious. The people and service excellent! The food is good enough, especially with all the rest being so wonderful.
