Love the papusas here, they can make them with just beans 🫘 and no cheese 🧀 🚫which is good if you cant eat dairy or are vegan. Some places cant do that since they pre make the papusas. Here they must be fresh made. Its a pretty cramped and cozy environment. The food is really good

It was one of the good recommendations we had for awhile. The food was really a comfy food and feels like home made food instead of the usual feel of restaurant food. It was really good and would love to go back again.

Google
Best Salvadoran food in the area. The pupusa with the crunchy cole slaw and carrots and salsa was my favorite and at 3.75 it is a steal. They are large and more flat than other pupusas I've tried, but crazy worth! Also, the cheese pull was beautiful. The steak nachos had an incredible amount of steak and there are beans on the bottom. They did forget the lettuce/ tomato/sour cream, but they got it out soon after. The steak fajita came out hot and the steak was well cooked--not too tough. The jalapeño added a spicy touch. The corn tortilla was a bit too thick so ask for a flour tortilla if you're not used to it. The corn tortilla is delicious though--and it's more authentic if you choose to get a corn tortilla. Super BIG burrito with beef tongue inside. The rice is cooked well with some peas and well cooked beans. They have a big dollop of sour cream, lettuce, tomato, guacamole... again super great value. Everything comes out hot, so be wary of the hot plates. Super good prices and we were very full after.

Google
The people who work here are so friendly with smiles and patient with me as I speak very little Spanish. The 3 steak tacos I had were so authentic and seasoned so perfectly! The meat was tender and delicious! The chips and salsa are so good too! Definitely going back!! Very quick, friendly and delicious!

Had the soup with beef and vegetables for myself and my wife had the fish. The food was awesome and the server was very courteous and was very attentive and kept checking on us. She was fully engaged. Would highly recommend this place. Loved the experience.

I had such a fantastic time at El Mirador in Manassas, Virginia. The food was simply delicious—truly mouth-watering. We ordered the Pechuga de Pollo ($14.25) and a Fajita de Ca., Re. Po ($25.50), and both dishes were just incredible. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the fajitas were packed with perfectly seasoned meat and fresh veggies. The yuca fries were a delightful surprise—crispy and delicious, with dipping sauces that were just as tasty. The customer service was top-notch too; everyone was so friendly and made us feel right at home. This is definitely a place I’ll be returning to again and again! Order: 1. Pechuga de Pollo - $14.25 2. Fajita de Ca., Re. Po - $25.50 3. Open Price - $7.50 Sub-Total: $47.25 State Tax: $2.83 Meal Tax: $1.89 Total: $51.97 ♿️ easy access

Google
What a hidden gem! I’ve seen this restaurant many a times when looking for somewhere to eat, but I never actually tried it. Decided to check it out tonight and I’m so glad that I did! Quaint, authentic restaurant! The service was great and prompt, and the food was absolutely outstanding! One of the best steak quesadillas I have ever had, and very reasonably priced! I will definitely be back!!

Google
Absolutely incredible! The pupusas were fresh and packed with flavor, and the curtido added the perfect tangy crunch. Everything tasted homemade and authentic. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the service was quick. Hands down the best Salvadoran food I’ve had.

Yelp
We stopped here after a long day of touring Manassas National Battlefield. Traffic was hectic getting there but that's not the fault of El Mirador. We were seated quickly and our drinks delivered post haste. The Mrs had the Chicken Chimichangas which came with rice, beans and sour cream. She enjoyed it very much. $13.25 I chose the carne tacos (3) which also came with rice and beans. The pieces of beef were very tender. Delicious. But, the rice and beans were beyond great. If I'd have known that the beans were so good, I would have just ordered a platter of that with rice and some tortillas. I've had beans at many places. These were TOPS. $12.50 Wish we were local so we could enjoy their food regularly.

Yelp
I stand by what I say about this place. Really good and relatively inexpensive food here and so much of it! The chimichanga with steak was pretty bready but there was so much meat that the ratio of protein to carb is great. The quesadilla was also pretty good with so much cheese and meat. The pupusa loca was as good as always. Staff is always smiling and so accommodating, making sure we were taken care of. The patrons are also happy and the table next to us was talking about how good the carrot and orange juice was. Good vibe restaurant.

Yelp
Four colleagues and I were first-time diners at El Mirador on a Friday afternoon for lunch. We had to pull together two tables to sit all five of us. This was not a problem to the accommodating staff. They greeted us with a big smile and took great care of us for the next 90 minutes. The dining menu was quite extensive, with helpful pictures and descriptions. As we were to find out shortly, there were no specific lunch items or smaller portions. We started with guacamole and chips, which was amazing. The guacamole was the best, according to all of us. It had a thicker consistency than other guacamole we had had in the past and tasted super fresh. Our orders came out as they were ready. My tacos al carbon came out first. The portions were huge with four tacos (2 Chix and 2 steak), a generous heaping of beans, yummy rice, and toppings for the tacos, including tomatoes, lettuce, and avocado slice. It was outstanding. I managed to eat most of it but could have shared it with another. Next out was a chicken dish with plantains substituting rice and beans. It was a beautiful dish that was thoroughly enjoyed. A beef burrito appeared next, and it was the thickness of an arm. Chicken fajitas appeared through a cloud of smoke. Lastly, a three taco platter was delivered: one chicken, one beef, and one beef tongue taco. All these dishes were freshly prepared and delicious. It took a little bit of time for everything to show up, but it was not an issue. The staff was delightful and happily accommodated some substitutions on the menu. We all remarked that we would like to eat here again in a couple of weeks when we return to the area.

Yelp
I had a very enjoyable breakfast this day. I ordered the meal that had refried beans and plantains. The portions were satisfying! It tasted authentic. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, creating a great environment in the restaurant. Tip: if it's a cold day, I'd sit away from the foot because you will feel the cold breeze.

Yelp
Ate lunch here with the wife on a Friday. Quite a few tables inside and most were occupied. Lots of takeout going on. We both really enjoyed our food and it came out piping hot! Typical ambiance and decor inside. It's one of those places we've all been where there's alot of action and movement with great food being pumped out. Enjoy!

Kenneth H.

Yelp
Really great food, service is overall good. I would only suggest the wait staff return to the table a few more frequent times to fill beverages. This place has great Tacos.

Yelp
So delicious! Real Mexican food and extremely affordable. Staff were super nice and attentive. The restaurant was nice. It's not like a romantic ambiance but is a nice come in and have some crazy good food. If you're in Manassas and like Mexican food I highly recommend stopping here.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great I got the carne enchiladas which were delicious. Pupusas were good and quesadillas were fantastic. If you like Salvadoran food this place is must try. Service was great and the vibe of the restaurant was upbeat. The food prices are also very good for what you get.
google avatar

Yelp
SOLID, I cleaned my plate! Had the beef tongue and wanted more. Tender, juicy and did not need doctoring. Highly recommend the place. A little hole in the wall but had a steady stream of clients. Will be back to try the other dishes. Best pupusa I have had to date. Belly was happy!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely amazing Salvadoran food! Large portions and friendly service in a nice casual atmosphere.

Yelp
El mirador has been a great affordable option for our family. Five stars is for TOP NOTCH customer service and steak quesadillas. It's flavorful and fresh.

Yelp
El Mirador food was ok. Nothing that gave me the wow factor. Second time here and I'm still not impressed. Over crowded & not enough space to seat comfortably. Music too loud!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Everything about this place was excellent! Food was hot fresh and delicious. If you don't try it you'll be sorry because you're missing out.

Yelp
I went to El Mirador on Friday night. I ordered a Pupusa Loca and a chicken burrito. The pupusa came very hot, but once it cooled down, it was super delicious: filled with cheese and beans and some kind of vegetable. The burrito was a little disappointing. It was filled with only chicken. Luckily the plate also came with beans, rice, avocado, lettuce, sour cream, and melted Mexican cheese: that part was simply delicious as well. I just wish there was more inside the burrito. I would recommend eating there though.

Yelp
El Mirador is such a gem! This Salvadorean restaurant offers a nice extensive menu, offering sopas, sandwiches, salads, platters, Tex-Mex items, seafood, sides, and drinks/beverages. We came here for lunch, and we ordered: +cheese pupusas - these were made perfectly, with the slightly crispy edges, and the cheese was the right amount of saltiness and generously used for the filling! +chimichanga - this came as a platter, and I opted for the carne asada for the protein - note that if you don't request any other ingredients, the chimichanga only comes with meat as the filling; I'd probably ask it to be filled with cheese and beans next time! It was fried wonderfully, and I was a huge fan of their refried beans! +horchata - this was creamy and cinnamon-y, and one of the better horchatas I've had! The staff here are super friendly and welcoming, and they do check in with you often! The place does get jam-packed, and there seems to always be a wait. However, that doesn't affect the service at all - the staff are on point! Would love to come back and check out the rest of the menu. Plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot. +tasty pupusas! +simple chimichangas! +all foods made-to-order +friendly & welcoming staff! +plenty of parking in the shared plaza lot

Yelp
I drove 2 hours to this area to pick Tulips. After that, it was time to eat so I turned to Yelp to look for Latinx food recommendations and stumbled upon El Mirador. As soon as I walked, it was a busy place. And I could tell it always was. That's always a great sign. We ordered lots of food (pictured) and everything was delicious! Food is freshly made, but you also get your food pretty quickly after you order. Only reason for the 4 stars is because they forgot one of our meals (there were 5 of us)...they brought everyone's meal except for one. We waited a while, maybe 15 minutes (we were trying to be patient) but eventually went up to the counter to check on the soup. We eventually got it but it was very late.
google avatar

Claudia M.

Yelp
The food is super tasty and portions are decent. Great customer service! This is an authentic Salvadoran restaurant.
google avatar

Rodney L.

Yelp
Needing dinner quick, El Mirador did not disappoint I ordered Tacos El Mirador, each with one of the filling choices: chicken, pork, beef tongue. My meal arrived swiftly, cooked to perfection, heaping with sides (salad, rice, refried beans, salsa). The staff were like angels and I departed with a happy tummy.
google avatar

Yelp
Good takeout food that travels well. Our party had the steak burrito, steak tacos (hold the onions), and also carte tamales. The burrito was excellent -- full of steak, grilled to perfection, and smothered in cheese. The beans and the rice are also delicious and flavorful. Steak tacos were great, stuffed with meat and served with fresh avocado and sides. The tamales were very moist and fluffy and well-seasoned. I will definitely order again from El Mirador. Service is friendly and continues to mask.

Lacey B.

Yelp
Such an amazing meal! We ordered the Pupusa Loca, Tamal de elote and the steak tacos el mirador. 10/10 all around. The steak was well marinated and super flavorful. Service was great and very quick!

Yelp
I love this cute local authentic Salvadoran place. I use to come here often when I lived in the area so was excited to stop in during my visit back in the area. Great service and good food! My go to is the pescado frito

Mike B.

Yelp
Great, authentic food; pleasant service; and great ambience for the cuisine! The fajitas were outstanding!

Kaylie B.

Yelp
This restaurant has been one of my favorites in Manassas for a while! Their prices are competitive, food is soooo good and flavorful, and location is very convenient. Love this spot would definitely recommend

Larissa S.

Yelp
I had to go to Manassas to go to a specific store not found in MD, so I stopped by to eat and the service was amazing. The servers were very sweet and the food was delicious, very authentic. The vibe of the place was also very Salvadoran. 10/10
google avatar

Karl B.

Yelp
I love the Latin flavors at El Mirador. Service is always great. My favorite dish is the bistec encebollada. It is excellent. The freshly prepared Tamarindo is a wonderful beverage. The names of the dishes are mostly in Spanish. The descriptions are in English. All the servers speak English. El Mirador has an open kitchen and I love to watch the cooks expertly prepare the food. If you are hungry in Manassas. Go to El Mirador.
google avatar

Dennis R.

Yelp
Carne Asada Tacos y Pupusa what more can you ask for. The original finger food is the only way to eat in el mirador. Pupusa make sure you eat them on the spot bc once is cold the cheese and chicharon don't melt in your melt. The services is 10/10 polite and nice. The location could use a bigger spot since the limited seating can be difficult to come with family or a large group. Will recommend to friends and family. This time I came by myself.
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped in here for lunch early one afternoon - very busy at lunchtime. I ordered their beef burrito. Their burrito style is chunks of steak - while tasty - some of the steak pieces were a little tough and chewy - and some were very tender. No consistency. I'd prefer a ground steak or beef option for the burrito - but oh well. Service was good! #ElMiradorRestaurant
google avatar

Aimee C.

Yelp
Found this place just trying to get tacos. It's a small place in a strip mall, but it was PACKED at 11:45am - always a good sign. Although everyone around us had pupusas, i ended up getting the Taco plate (I ordered pork but i think I got steak? Either way it was phenomenal). Hubby got a chicken chimichanga and like other reviews, a little underwhelming as it just had chicken and not really flavored and a little dry. We did order 6 revuelta tacos to go, so I'll have to update this once we eat it later!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
We were looking for a place for late lunch and found El Mirador. We ordered Pupusas for appetizer which is really delicious along with hot coffees. For entrees, we had Beef Fajitas and Lengua En Salsa. Their beef fajitas is seriously the most flavorful and tender that we ever had. The Lengua is just as impressive. Both servings are quite generous as well. We were seriously impressed with our dining experience here. The service is just as fantastic as the food. The prices are not expensive as well. We would love to go back here soon.
google avatar

Marisol D.

Yelp
This place was ok. Nothing to write home about. My taco meat was tough and my friend's food not much flavor. I had ordered a pupusa, but it never came to our table, but they did charge me for it....ha to get our bill adjusted. Was pretty disappointed because this place had such high reviews
google avatar

Kati M.

Yelp
We came for the pupusas, and we were not disappointed. We tried the queso, queso con frijoles, revuelta, and loca. They were all good, although the revuelta was the least impressive. They came with some kind of slaw and a tomato dipping sauce, both of which were nice. The staff were friendly, and our waitress was willing to work with our limited Spanish. The food came fairly quickly, for being prepared fresh. And the price was super reasonable - dinner for 2 was 22$ with tip. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
My gf is awesome since she frequents this hole-in-the-wall place and introduced me to it. El Mirador is as authentic as it gets when it comes to Latin cuisine. I knew this would be an awesome experience when I saw the place filled with people of a Latino/Latina background. The tacos and papusas are some of the best I've had. The Papusa La Roca is huge and they are made in house with fresh corn meal and other ingredients. Never tasted one as fresh and packed with flavor. And only @ $2.95, it's almost a meal in itself. I paired it with the Tacos El Mirador platter which knocked me on my rear as it was more food than I thought. But nonetheless the tacos (carne asada, pork, linqua) were all tasty and filled with meat and deliciousness. The rest of the menu has traditional El Salvadoran dishes such as the currasca, chimichangas, tortas, and the refreshing hortachata (similar to a milkshake). The dining area is a bit small but inviting and the staff cook it up well. And price wise, it may be the best value since the Louisiana Purchase! El Mirador has a fan in me and when you try it, you'll be a fan too. Bring your appetite!
google avatar

Kathleen C.

Yelp
The papusas are the best I've ever had. We got the chicharrones y queso. They put queso encima también. The to go was fast and we didn't order ahead. Tried to go the night before, they say they close at 10:00 but we got there at 9:20 and the kitchen was already closed.

D B.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time today, preferred taco restaurant was closed. It seems that they will not do carry-out,. Given how much Latino restaurants in this are are struggling to keep staff and stay open, you would think that they would have been happy to have me carry out. There was only 3 tables there and I would have been ordering for 4 people.

Jodie C.

Yelp
I wouldn't know authentic Salvadorian food if it smacked me in the face, but I can tell you what I do know...this is great food. I consider this comfort food actually. Very satisfying and filling. I enjoyed that there were flavors in the food. I enjoy that the establishment, albeit small, is jam packed with not just "customers" but Salvadorian customers. That says a lot to me. The ambiance was true to heritage. The servers where busy! Let me tell you, but very nice. Chefs were lined up within view putting out some really good food. I went the first time on a whim due to Yelp ratings and to satisfy my craving for rice and beans. I came back the very next day for more! Lots of vegetarian options thankfully and portions are generous. Already thinking about my next plate.
google avatar

Matt A.

Yelp
This spot was recommended to me and it was so good! Authentic, not expensive, but most important absolutely delicious. Highly recommend if in the area. I got take-out, but you can dine in as well. I only speak English but there was no language barrier when ordering. Everything was so good- get all that you can!
google avatar

Edith M.

Yelp
Pupusas were okay, will not be returning because I can ask a family member to make them.
google avatar

Sheila S.

Yelp
This place is great in customer service but that's just a bonus, food is so so good. So tasteful and really a place you would be coming back for more. I recommend this place if you wanna try good food from taco, quesadilla pupusas & sopa.
google avatar

Kathy A.

Yelp
My husband ordered a "Sopa De Mariscos" for me and what a shame. The soup tasteless and just a few seafood mix. For $17.75 this is what you get. Never again.
google avatar

Alisha G.

Yelp
Delicious and affordable. Absolutely love the carne y queso tacos and the papusa loca. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Ricky D.

Yelp
This place is great! Small interior so if you're with a big party come when it isn't busy. The steak and lengua tacos are delicious and well priced. Food comes out quickly, and always piping hot. Highly recommend if you're looking for some excellent Salvadorian food.
google avatar

Natalie L.

Yelp
Pupusas are so good. Extensive Salvadorean menu. So glad it's near me. They were even opened on Christmas DAY.
google avatar

Teresa C.

Yelp
Highly recommended by my colleague and decided to try it. Hostess was very patient and very helpful and attentive. Price is very reasonable.
google avatar

Paulina H.

Yelp
I've had a few of their dishes and it's pretty good. The steak burrito is delicious a must try. The pupusas are amazing as well! I love the corn tamales but have been disappointed by how small they have gotten specially for the price they cost now I expected them to stay the same size but still good.

David R.

Yelp
Food was so delicious worth every penny, very filling they give you a lot, service was awesome, great service people were so nice and welcoming, Im Latino but don't speak Spanish, I didn't have a hard time ordering food, all staff speak English, first time here and I'm coming back. Ambience was great.
google avatar

Mary D.

Yelp
I literally was excited to come here and try some good food, since I saw the high review. I ordered pupusas and enchiladas de pollo. Rate the enchiladas w 1 star, it was more of a burrito and there was no sauce, taste wasn't flavorful as it was masked with what I can assume cheddar cheese, among other cheeses. Meat was not soft or shredded but cut up into junks. The presentation was good, beans were not special or flavorful. The pupusas were amazing, loved it, one of the best in town

Pablo R.

Yelp
Amazing quesadillas and great salsa! Really kind and hospitable staff. Highly recommend.

Pooi W.

Yelp
Tried their Carne Enchilada. Called n picked up around 6:30 pm. They were very busy mostly for orders to go. The dish is AMAZING!! Seasoning is on point, steak is tender, rice n beans are delicious! If you enjoy a little kick, might want to request hot sauce because it's a mild dish. It was a lot of food but I couldn't stop even after I was full. $9.54 after tax is so cheap for such a delicious meal. Will definitely go back for more and try out other stuff.
