EL MÔDERNE HOTEL GIJÓN

Decent hotel. No parking on site, although lots nearby. Front desk service was nice. Air conditioner is no good. Breakfast needs and upgrade, i don't recommend getting it as there are plenty of good options near by. -edit for reply.- lol, we did call the front desk to ask about the air conditioner. we were told that there was nothing wrong with the system, we just had to close the windows. the window were not open. we asked for a fan and were told that none were available. we still made the most of the situation given the discomfort. what makes you think that i would not have complained to the hotel staff? weird response to be honest. 1 point off.

We stayed for 7 nights at El Môderne Hotel. The hotel is stylish and comfortable and very centrally located. The staff are courteous and friendly. We stayed in a junior suite with a terrace on the 6th Floor which was spacious with a good sized bathroom and large shower cubicle with a powerful shower. There was a Nespresso machine with espresso cups. We requested a kettle for teas and this was provided. The breakfast was a good continental buffet with breads, croissants, cheeses, meats, cereals and fruits. They also provided Soya milk. The bar is cosy with mood lighting and relaxing music. I had requested Champagne to be brought to our room as it was my husband’s 70th birthday and this came with a nice little card and chocolates which was a nice touch. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Perfectly located hotel for exploring Gijón. Pablo welcomed us and gave us a map and some great recommendations to make the most of our quick stay. Pablo recommended 4 siderias/restaurants, and we managed to visit 3 out of 4! Rooms were beautifully finished and Pablo also gave us a quick history of the building which was very interesting. Unfortunately the room didn't have a fridge, which was a shame but the room ambience more than made up for it!

A hotel that tried too hard to be cool. Very dark corridors and gym was totally black so not great for working out. Bed was comfy and room was clean. Reception staff not very friendly but hotel in good location with restaurants nearby. Parking wasn't included and was in a multi story a block away.

One of the best hotel stays I’ve had. Great style and rooms and excellent shower. The bed was super comfy. Just no fridge or coffee/kettle facilities in the room which is a little bit disappointing.

Do not trust the “air-conditioned room” claim. The A/C in our suite didn’t work — room stayed over 21°C all night despite being set to 17°C on the aircon. When we raised the issue, staff acknowledged the temperature issue but falsely stated that Spanish law prohibits hotel rooms from being cooled below a certain point — which is simply a lie. No alternative room or solution was offered, and our complaint was dismissed. This level of service is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. I would strongly advise other travellers to be cautious, particularly if you expect working amenities or responsive staff. Avoid

Very nice experience, lovely staffs to start with..spacious clean room, comfortable bed and pillows.. the hotel is dimly lit.. they have a small gym and a cozy bar.. walking distance from lovely restaurants and sites/beach.. they didnt have parking but we had no problem parking our car near the hotel..

Nice view, comfortable rooms. This was by far my most favorite hotel. The service was excellent. They know how much I love onions so the Chef cuts the breakfast cheese with his onion cutting knife... It helps hide my morning Tequila breath before I go to work. Please give the Chef a pay rise.
