El Monte Azul Las Galeras

Wow...just wow! Food is so delicious here! An amazing Thai fusion with amazing fresh ingredients. The owner is super friendly and told all about how he buys in the town the freshest ingredients to make so delicious dishes. He is even able to adjust the spice level for those of us that can not handle the crazy spicy stuff! The views are spectacular on top of that. Be sure to check it out for yourself but make a reservation as seating is limited and they only do so many people a day!

We climbed to the top of a hill and arrived in a heavenly place with a restaurant overlooking the sea and stunning views. The quality of the food was exceptional with good service. the hosts are incredibly generous and welcome you like members of their family. We also had the chance to spend a few nights in the hotel part with a huge swimming pool overlooking the bay, the morning wake-up call with the whales was fabulous. I recommend this place for one of my best vacation experiences

Do not miss the opportunity to visit this spectacular place. El Monte Azul delivers memories not only in location, view and vibe but also on food. The owner is gracious and a delight. The Thai inspired food was excellent! Note that the drive there is an adventure and you will likely require 4x4. Also, don't follow Google maps directions, they are flat wrong and lead you down a road that does not connect. There are signs so follow those. There are a number of dogs and cats all really friendly and well behaved. Don't pass up the icecream at the end of your meal! Thank you for a wonderful lunch!!

Amazing first-time experience! Delicious Thai food, absolutely breathtaking view, first-rate service, and wonderful people! We loved it there and we want to come back!

The photos do not do enough justice to how tasty the food was, amazing Salmon Carpaccio with lobster, as main dish delicious Langostinos with special sauce that makes it even better, and a lobster, shrimp and steak pad thai. The attention by the owner and chef himself and his wife make this place one of the must go places when you are in Samana. ❤️

Words cant describe the view, the food was amazing and the attention we received from the chef himself was outstanding, one of the most memorable places i have been to. If you are in the are this is a must do.

The absolute worst and most expensive experience in the DR was this restaurant. Dear tourists, those prices and this kind of taste is (almost) a scam. The owner explained the menu to us and it turned out that there was only one main course. Pad Thai, a very good dish of Thailand an Laos which is usually an incredible tasty dish. But here in this restaurant, Pad Thai is absolutely different. The owner prepares this dish with his "own style". It looked and tasted like bad Italian pasta with too much sauce but definitely no flavors from asia. And that’s okay, taste is different to everyone. But his own creation costs around ~ 900 pesos per person! Noodles, Sauce, veggies and a few chunks of chicken. Sorry, but please have a look what really ends up on your plate, the cost of rice noodles is so low I really don't understand how you can eat so damn good for normal prices in Las Galeras and this restaurant charges you ~ 900 pesos for a plate! Come on! If you watch the owner for a while, you will notice his local employee preparing the food. The owner is just mixing the drinks and smokes a lot of cigarettes (in front of all guests). Unfortunately, we didn't enjoyed our time at the restaurant , the view was pretty nice.
