Great Mexican food restaurant. The interior decor is full of Mexican elements, which creates a good atmosphere although the place is kind of small and it could be a bit uncomfortable to eat sometimes. The food is delicious and the portions are good. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The drinks selection is also great, I personally recommend having the Agua de Jamaica, but the Tamarindo was also great. Both are very tasty! The prices are reasonable. Overall, I think the quality of service was good. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Mexican experience.

Google
Great Mexican restaurant with an awesome vibe and even better food! The nachos were loaded and flavorful, the tacos were fresh and delicious, and the margaritas were perfectly mixed, refreshing with just the right kick. Everything we tried hit the spot. Highly recommended for a fun and tasty meal!

Google
Hugely atmospheric bar with many choices of tequila and mescal. Staff are delightful. Menu based around tacos, quesadillas and other Mexican fare. The food was a bit bland for my taste but still a great night out. Really good Margaritas.

Google
Serves some of the best tacos I've tried in my life, and their sodas are not bubbly sodas, really refreshing and go well with the delicious tacos. Also at the time I was there seemed like a women run business who treat you with great hospitality and care! They speak English too which was very helpful. Had to stand up after the first bite, was THAT delicious for me! Located on a quiet pedestrians street so sitting on the outside stand of the bar was a very nice experience (a bit tight though for 3 plates +2 drinks when another 2 ppl sitting at the inside part of the stand)

Google
Incredibly popular restaurant. We showed up 4 minutes after opening and there was already a line. Few tables inside that filled up almost instantly. Food was tasty and about as mexican it could be considering how far we are. Portion sizes are great too. We left the restaurant full. Service is no bs. You order on a piece of paper and then hand it to them. You pick up your food when they yell out your name. I found the prices to be quite hight considering what the ingredients are but I guess that's the price of good mexican food far from México.

Google
A great little restaurant with absolutely amazing menu options! The margaritas were the best! We chose classic premium and Mescalita. Our menu choices were Sopes veggie, and chicken tostadas. Highly recommend! Truly a must!

Google
I had a great experience at El Pachuco! I ordered the chicken tacos and quesadillas, both were excellent. The chicken tacos were juicy and packed with rich flavor, and the quesadillas were loaded with cheese, complete with that perfect cheesy pull. They also offer a nice variety of Mexican drinks and other tempting food options. Loved the vibe of the place and would definitely recommend it to anyone craving quality Mexican food.

Google
My partner tried this place before me and kept telling me about it so last night we went there finally and The food was simply amazing, not very heavy and super fulfilling, we were both vegetarians and they had great vegetarian options on the menu. I am not a picky eater but I’m a cook and have worked in the food industry and service for a while and I admire balanced and real flavors. We had the veggie nachos and tacos de frajol, as for drinks we went for the classic margarita and mezcalita, it was all great & enough for two hungry humans. Also the staff were super friendly and cute with everyone. We will definitely go back there again soon ❤️

Yelp
Mexican restaurant in Barcelona?? Ok! All the dishes here were extremely well portioned - which was great because we were starving. An advisory that they are CASH ONLY. It is a very small, kind of hidden, location and seating is very tight. Do not recommend to come with a big group. They have a full bar as well. We got the nachos platter and quesadillas ( that look like tacos since they come in individual tortillas) and they were all good and filling. You will not regret.

Yelp
Not kidding. These are the best nachos I've ever had in my entire life. It's hard for me to not gatekeep this place. Service is amazing. You order off a sheet at the bar and the food is ready almost instantly. Small restaurant. Can't say enough good things about this place. Pretty decently priced from what I remember. I miss it so much!!! Tip: cash only

Yelp
VERY DELICIOUS! i had the quesadillas and we got the nachos. the nachos were very good but the chips are very hard. they are crunchy because they're made in house! the quesadillas are amazing! so much flavor and texture! the margarita was spicy, salty, and full of flavor! perfect combination of everything, very fresh! the homemade strawberry soda was epic! tasted organic and fresh! overall amazing place and service was great too! the Ambiance was great. very lively place full of nice people and good food. one more thing! they only take cash so be sure you have some handy! 10/10 recommend!!

Yelp
Oh my gosh was this great! From the outside it does not seem like much. But step inside and taste a little bit of heaven. Tacos to die for!!! Yum, great service and good prices!

Yelp
My fav spot for tacos in Barca. The drinks are good. And the vibe as well. The micheladas are really good

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here while we were in Barcelona! Be prepared for a long wait anytime you go because the restaurant is very small but we both thought the wait was well worth it. We came at around 10pm and waited 30-40 minutes on a Sunday night which isn't bad at all because apparently on their busiest nights (Friday and Saturday) the wait can be up to an hour and a half. Really friendly staff and great food! We got the nachos (can't remember which kind), the chicken/cheese quesadilla, and the carnitas tacos. Nachos: amazing!!! It's a huge portion so you could easily share it between two people! Excellent toppings and just overall really really good. The best nachos in Barcelona for sure! Quesadilla: also so good! Super cheesy and it just melted in your mouth. I could eat these all day honestly. Carnitas tacos: The guy working really hyped up the carnitas tacos so as Southern California natives we were expecting to have our minds blown as we know some pretty decent Mexican food back home. We were both a bit disappointed with the tacos. They were kind of dry and had no toppings on them to spice them up like salsa or sour cream. They were just kind of whatever, not very memorable.

Yelp
The pros: Hole in the wall Mexican food. Friendly staff. Fast service. Micheladas. Good value. Tasty food. Cash only. The cons: Minimum 3 tacos per order. This means you can't get one of each. Tacos are huge and not meant to be giant piles of food on a small tortilla. They should be 1-2 bites. So they could save food and make them smaller so people can get multiple. All serves are big. I saw their other dishes like the nachos. Can share one plate between 2-3 people. Quesadillas looked reasonable at minimum 2 for one person. They can ramp up by having more than one kind of salsa. Meat can also be cooked longer to be tender and more flavorful. I am used to tacos in the US and Mexico, so this doesn't compare but at least it's not a chain and one of the better places I have found in Europe.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday night at 9:05PM we waited an hour to be seated.. Originally we ordered 15 tacos (3 different types of meat), nachos, & 4 sopes. After we ordered, a lady came over and believed we had ordered too much food & she believed it was best if we had 9 tacos instead of 15 & still keep the nachos & sopes, so we did just that! She was definitely correct! It was enough food! I really liked the fact that she came out to give us her opinion it showed she cared about the people who came in there! The food was delicious and we left very satisfied!

Yelp
The menu is.... This big. Basically pulling pork out of a container onto the tacos, garnish, add a lime, and bam done. It's street food and good at that. I just find it a tiny bit overrated and over priced. CASH ONLY Beer and drink menu has much more options. Hostess was already stressing out about a rush that I never saw and pointed me sternly to a certain seat. It was good, it just wasn't outstanding.
google avatar

Corey P.

Yelp
This place is amazing. I love sopes here. They pile on the guac like there is no tomorrow. The location is small and if there is no seat you will not be allowed inside. Even for drinks. Sometimes there is a wait but sometimes there is not. The wait is worth it for the wonderful food and good drinks. They have beer and mixed drinks. They even give samples if they make extra. The prices are also reasonable and make sure to the frozen margaritas. I prefer the sopes over the tacos but the tacos are worth it. My advice, get one order of sopes and one of tacos and put the guac from the sope onto the taco. You will not go wrong.
google avatar

Yelp
Cheap and better than Mexico. Skip the tacos and get the tostadas or nachos. The tacos are good but they're plain, you get a lot more food for €1 more. I'm in Spain for 10 days, I've been here 3 times already. Great food and the frozen margaritas are delicious as well!
google avatar

Brit A.

Yelp
Very good deal! 5 tacos for about 9 euros! Very delicious and the cocktails and margaritas are delicious. Very small restaurant. If you go for dinner and dont have a reservation then you should go early
google avatar

Yelp
Great Cozy Mexican restaurant in Barcelona. I visited the restaurant for dinner during a vacation to Spain and it was one of my favorite meals while there. Menu: They offer tacos, quesadillas, shareable plates and more. The portions are big and fairly priced for the taste and amount you get. I had the tacos, nachos, and quesadillas (with a guest :p) and nothing was a disappointment. Taste: I can't elaborate much more than saying 5/5. Well seasoned and they offer really good hot sauces for fiends like myself. Location: It's cozy; Maybe fits about 25-30 patrons including seating at a bar area. If you come during dinner time expect a wait! We waited for about and hour and a half when we went at 10pm on a Friday! Overall: Must go if you want some great Mexican food and a nice vibe. Not a place to sit down and have deep personal conversation though as it gets loud.

Yelp
Small spot, been 4 times and usually some type of wait, but delicious. Have had nachos and tacos and everything fresh and tasty. You watch them make it right behind the bar but def a staple for our yearly trip to Barcelona.

Yelp
I wasn't going to write and give away one of my favorite places here on Yelp, but after leaving a google review and having probably one of the top worst owner responses I've ever received from it, I thought I'd leave my two cents here too. Their nachos were some of the best in the world. Really, I used to describe them in a poetic way to friends: there is not a single lonely chip. They fry them themselves. They are amazing. But my last visit wasn't so amazing. There wasn't much meat. There were some lonely chips. There was other stuff, they were still pretty good, but not like they were over the four or five years I've been coming here. I haven't been in about a year because I don't get to raval very often. So I let them know. And I let them know that I noticed they've become popular: there was a line, and a wait of about 30 minutes at a non-prime-time dining hour on a Sunday. But the problem wasn't really the wait: it's the way they handled the wait, the unwelcoming metal chain at the door that could most certainly be improved to another mechanism, a sign in the street like Dr Stravinsky does, or some other less prison like contraption. It's unwelcoming. This is a simple fact. The worst thing was that the owner responded on google and called me "dear" and reminded me that I'm just one of a gazillion customers. That I should have some understanding. The last thing you should do is belittle your customers and patronize them with comments like "dear." So I'd skip this place, after that experience, and skip the wait, and if you really must have Mexican go to Gringa around the corner, and get the tacos not the nachos. And otherwise there are plenty of other places in the area to go to.

Yelp
After eating all the tapas while I'm Barcelona, we were definitely itching for something different. We love Mexican food and this place did not disappoint. It's definitely a smaller joint. You sit down and place your order on a paper that you hand to the bartender. They call you up to the bar when your food is ready. We ordered tacos and quesadillas. Everything was absolutely delicious. I had the frozen mango margarita - so interesting! It was tasty but definitely fills you up. We would totally come back here!
google avatar

Yelp
OK.....THE BEST.....EVER! I am a chef! Gabbie.... the best tacos. Carnitas w/sour creme, their sauce! Die and go to Heaven! Best Vibe!
google avatar

Ben G.

Yelp
Coming from California, I have a VERY high bar for Mexican food. El Pachuco did not disappoint and even exceeded many spots I've visited in CA. We ordered the carnitas tacos and the nachos. The tacos were made with homemade tortillas and were loaded with meat and topped with little bits of pork rinds - hell yes. And the nachos. Homemade chips and loaded with all the fixings. I'll dream of these nachos. Get the nachos. I would eat here every day, if only I had more time. A word to the wise - go for lunch. We tried to come for dinner twice, once at 9:30 and again at 8:30, and the wait was about an hour.

Yelp
This is the second taco place I go to on my week long stay in Barcelona where you fill out a form with your selections and hand to the person taking your order. I made a mistake and thought I could pick any three different tacos, until the friendly woman who took my order said "eh, you've selected nine tacos..", and me not wanting to lose face said "yep, that's correct" and that's the story about how I came to eat 9 tacos in one sitting... No its not. :) So selecting "1" in one of the boxes means 3 tacos of that specific option. I corrected my order and went with the "carnitas" which were excellent. Three tacos and one soft drink came to 9.20 euros and they only accept cash. One bonus star for this being the first meal under 10 euros during this stay in Barcelona. I can also mention that the tacos are really stuffed full, so even though there's a 5-taco option on the menu three will more than likely do, unless you're really hungry, in which case three will do as well. This is an incredibly small, but cosy place, and I really like the decor on the walls. One invisible star is deducted because of them not accepting anything but cash.
google avatar

Magali V.

Yelp
Love the ambiance. Good food and drinks and open pretty late so if you're out having drinks and get hungry this is a good spot for food.
google avatar

Abbie O.

Yelp
I haven't been able to eat heart-achingly good Mexican food since I lived in the US, and El Pachuco fully satiated me (and then some). Their heaping nachos, tantalizingly perfect tacos, and wide selection of beers were exactly what I needed. We went back three times during our visit. I hope to make it back again, because there really only was life before El Pachuco and life after El Pachuco.
google avatar

Carli-Rae C.

Yelp
The staff was great and the owner even nicer. Good portion sizes and great mexican food. Also, having some mezcal was a great drink option. Would for sure eat again
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
Favorite place we ate at in Barcelona, we can't stop talking about it!! This place never had an empty seat when we walked by so we decided to go right when it opened one day. Best. Nachos. Ever. You won't regret waiting for these! The tacos and margaritas were also 10/10. Would go back again and again.
google avatar

Axel E.

Yelp
Coming from an Arizonan - this was a great taste of Mexico while in Barcelona! Very well made tacos and quesadillas. A line starts forming before they open for lunch so make sure to arrive a few minutes before if you want to eat right away. friendly and efficient staff!
google avatar

Jacob M.

Yelp
I was born in Southern California so I know my way around Mexican food. El Pachuco is the real deal. It's been years since I've had Mexican food this good. We ordered the nachos, three tacos, and two quesadillas and that was more than enough for two people. The chips for the nachos are not bagged but made in house. Tacos were piled high and had a nice crunch from pork rind bits sprinkled on top. Portions are large and quite welcome in my opinion. We did not drink but watched a few drinks being made. Everything was made with quality ingredients and most defiantly strong. They have a massive collection of mescal sitting above the bar. I honestly think I've had the best Mexican food in my life here at El Pachuco.
google avatar

Garrett K.

Yelp
The short version: very good food with fresh ingredients and friendly staff, and English menus for a decent price. The place is small and a locals spot so you know it's a good place to eat. However like I said its small like a lot of local non tourist restaurants in Barcelona. they have only two tables but they have two small bars with stools so you can sit while you eat; but it's going to be cozy. So hope you aren't some "I need more personal space, get out of my space." Type person. Well if you are, then maybe this isn't the spot for you.. Side note: Good luck in life too.. But otherwise the tacos are piled high with meat. The guacamole is a very large bowl and chips are made in the restaurant and are not some bag chip crap. The Pima colada was good and the bartender made too much and she told me if I drink what I had quickly then she topped me off again with the remainder in the blender. So i pretty much got 1 and a half drinks. So it's not the cheapest place. But far from expensive. My only let down was they didn't have beef! I was Jonesing for beef dammit. So me and my wife walked miles to get here then there wasn't any beeeeef. So if you want beef , then it's not your spot. But the pork and chicken and vegetable food on the menu is great ; just once again I wanted beef. That's really my only disappointment. Would of given a half star more if They had beef and were a little bit cheaper.

Yelp
Walked all the way over to have a traditional Spanish tapas lunch @ Quimet Quimet on a Saturday and lo & behold they are closed on weekends, FYI. This tiny place was somewhat nearby so I rolled the dice based on reviews. Mexican it is! I was starving & thirsty so I ordered a Margarita O.T.R, negra modelo & their tinga nachos right off the bat. They present you a menu sheet & you just check off what you want & give it to the bar where they'll call you when it's ready. Nachos were freaking amazing & huge! IMO, enough for two @ a whopping €11. I can definitely eat with the best of them but this one was a doozy. Cleaned most the plate & the bartender gave me a shot on the house for my noble effort. She then tells me about their new, larger location in Bari Gotic where i'm staying but I would have never known about them if not for Quimet being closed on weekends. Win/Win!
google avatar

Madeline W.

Yelp
A very small little hole in the wall place, but very good food & service!! I had the Tinga Tacos & they were delicious & filling. Very reasonably priced with a great atmosphere. The staff was so warm & welcoming & offered us free shots at the bar. Definitely a place you need to try in Barca!
google avatar

Kylie T.

Yelp
The frozen margaritas here are awesoke, the food was amazing, the service was phenomenal and was overall well worth the small line we were met with! Olnly serves 30 people at a time but well worth it!
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
My favorite place in Barcelona. Love the service and the food and the drinks. Just a great little spot out of the way but well worth trying to find.
google avatar

Obed B.

Yelp
Great Mexican food in Barcelona! Great atmosphere, The bartender was not as friendly. We ordered nachos and it was delicious. Just as a pointer, make sure you have cash because they will not get credit cards. Cleanness: 4/5 Flavor: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 cost: $$ Will I return? very likely when I come back next year.
google avatar

Myashi P.

Yelp
The perfect small restaurant to go before or after a long walk in Barcelona. The pork tacos are AMAZING, simple and very well seasoned. Also the nachos are great, crunchy and lots of guacamole, pico de gallo, beans, jalapeños and even 'chicharron' which was an awesome surprise at the bottom of the plate. I had the Chripiorca to drink and it went perfect with all the food. They serve a lot but it's all good because you can walk it off in Barcelona.
google avatar

Hanno B.

Yelp
Wonderful hole-in-the-wall taco place that's just down the street from Paral·lel funicular station. The pork tacos were delicious and authentic, and the selection of Mexican beers was impressive. Watching the 5 person staff operate in a tiny kitchen behind the bar and penciling our order on a menu we handed to the bartender rounded out the hipster vibe. Will definitely go back again for lunch.
google avatar

Widnam W.

Yelp
We had the tinga and carnitas tacos. The carnitas were unlike any we ever had before. We are used to the ones in NYC I guess with pineapples and chopped pork. Their version is delicious and different with slow cooked pulled pork however it was WAY TOO salty. The tinga were perfect. Guacamole was decent but could have used less salsa on top and more avocado -- also I prefer the guacamole served on the side instead of all over the chips like nachos. The chips were definitely home made and so good!
google avatar

Tim O.

Yelp
First off our server was very nice. She didn't make us feel like we were stupid Americans (which we are) the food was great. We got almost one of everything. Potato's were the best. But everything is great. Definitely a great place to hang out and eat.
google avatar

Claudette W.

Yelp
El Pachucho and waiter/barman Andreas, I'm in LOVE. I've been working on a cruise ship for 2 months, and jonesing for a proper taco. The carnitas tacos were amazing, the guacamole heavenly and the chelado all together made this Texas girl feel at home! Will be returning weekly when the ship docks in Barcelona. Any So-Cal/New Mex/Tex-mex fans can get a little taste of home here!
google avatar

Jacquie P.

Yelp
The food is amazing and the michelada with mezcal is delicious! Loved the tacos that have chicharron sprinkled on top. Loved that they had mezcal.
google avatar

Vincent W.

Yelp
One of the best experiences during my trip in Spain. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is joyful, the service is remarkable (introduced the menu in details and we people around the counter were treated a small cup of fruit smoothie), and most importantly the price is 100% reasonable! You gotta try it for sure don't miss it!
google avatar

Shawn K.

Yelp
Best tacos in Barcelona. Make a reservation if you think about it or likely you'll be waiting in line. Try the guacamole too.. fantastic

Melissa J.

Yelp
Good food, great drinks!! If you love Mexican food and have been on the search for it in Barcelona, go to Pachuco. Their sopes are great and their liter margaritas are better :) the entire staff is great and friendly. The only downside is the place is small so it only seats a limited amount of people making the waiting time a little long (i have waited up until and an hour and a half) its okay we went to a bar near there and had a beer! 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Lou G.

Yelp
great little dive bar atmosphere with awesome Mexican food. Staff was very warm and welcoming. You write your order on an order form and hand it to the bar. They call your name when its ready. Antojitos, quesadillas and tacos were off the hook!
google avatar

Jack K.

Yelp
True story. I spent a good 9 months in and out of Barcelona and found this place the first time and have gone back at least once every time since. If you like Mexican food and cocktails you must go here. Everything is good; eat and drink it all. I suggest a michalada and a quesadilla and nachos to share. Tell Pepe Jack from Arizona says hi.

Yelp
Being a native Californian, I have always been exposed to awesome, authentic Mexican cuisine. Iv'e been living in Barcelona for some time, and when people ask me what I miss most about home it's Mexican food, In-n-Out, and my family...in that order. Until I discovered El Pachuco. I was originally drawn to the large crowd inside on a weeknight, and then when I realized it was a mezcaleria I had to stop in! Awesome service, fun staff, and all around great experience. Soy una nativa californiana, y siempre he estado expuesto a increíble, auténtica cocina mexicana.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible. Trust me, get the nachos!!! Like sinfully good. Huge portion. For two people maybe get those and some tacos to share. Micheadas on point. We had nachos, five tacos, two micheladas, and sparkiling water. Our bill was ~30$. Very affordable for the quality and the amount of food. Trust me - check this place out! I wish it was close to home.

Yelp
Omgg ive had Mexican food in alot of places in America and i can easily say this was the best ive ever had. Amazing food, great atmosphere and the vibes were just right. I'm going to be a regular there from now on. Its a must try of you are in Barcelona!!!!

Yelp
Great place with a line to prove it. Get there a few minutes before opening (1:30) and try to sit at the bar. Pachuco has friendly staff, great atmosphere and some of the best street tacos and drinks anywhere. Try the guacamole, street tacos (pork) and a michelada. It's a small restaurant (4 tables) with a big punch! You'll love it.

Rob B.

Yelp
My favorite Mexican restaurant in Barcelona. Nice friendly patrons and staff. Authentic from start to finish. Every inch of this place reeks of Mexican

Isha P.

Yelp
This is a must visit place if you are in the mood for some of the best Mexican food you've had in your life!!! This restaurant is most definitely better than any Mexican food I've had in the states. I don't think I'll even be able to properly express how good the food is but here's to trying. If you're coming here for a romantic, relaxed dinner or with a big group of people - go elsewhere. There are 2 tables and some stool seating/bar seating, in other words very small. And yet they try to fit in as many people as they can and do not take reservations ahead of time. We waited almost 2 hours for a small corner of a table right next to the door. For some reason, this just added to the charm of the place. To order, they have a bunch of paper menus and pencils placed in a bucket on the table and you have to check off the items you want and walk over to the bar area to hand in your menu. We ordered nachos and tacos, we wanted to order the quesadillas just to try everything out and the bartender told us it would be too much food, we got them any way just to try and boy was he right! For two people, you definitely have your fill with just the nachos and tacos. We ended up taking the quesadillas to go. They also give you a bunch of hot sauces upon request. Like I've mentioned above, the food is just beyond delicious. I had the chicken tacos, the chicken was cooked to perfection - so flavorful and juicy. And the nachos were abundantly topped with cheese, beans, and every other topping - not dry at all. There's a reason why this place has great reviews!! Welll worth the wait!

Yelp
This place is outstanding. The nachos here are the best nachos I have ever had in my life. The chips are made right there in the restaurant and loaded with chicken tinga, cheese, guacamole, black beans, jalapeños, tomatoes and MORE CHEESE. Seriously I bring every friend who comes to visit me to this restaurant. The staff is very friendly, speak both english and Spanish, and occasionally will offer you free tequila shots. Very laid back, enjoyable atmosphere.
