Our family spent a wonderful afternoon at this bamboo paradise. The owner, Ximena, is a world-expert on all aspects of Bamboo, she's even had four species named after her! She's transformed a beautiful family finca into a showcase for many species of bamboo from all around the world. She, or one of her guides, take you on a leisurely 2-3 hour stroll through the bamboo plantation she's created. You will learn a lot about the plant, how it grows, as well as the history of the finca. But mostly it is an opportunity to spend time soaking in the sights and sounds of a tropical forest.
We did the tour in Spanish, but I understand it can also be done in English. You need to book in advance, but they are very flexible about timings and groups can be as small as two people. You get refreshments provided and chance to take loads of beautiful photos and ask as many questions as you want. Highly recommended!
