Small little treasure of a restaurant, the burrito is made amazingly, the red and green chili are amazing, green is really hot, the salsa is solid.... Highly Recommend. This is a Carne Adovada Burrito, and it is delicious!

Ordered online for pick up which was fast. However the breakfast tacos were an absolute joke. They were on soggy corn tortillas with barely any cheese or eggs and they were just thrown in the box with mashed potatoes everywhere. I was really excited to try them. I would not recommend this for breakfast.

Well Parasol is a unique restaurant that serves uniquely New Mexican food. I frequent the area for my job and I always stop and pick up food to take home. My wife knows when I go to the Espanola area. She patiently waits for a tasty dinner. The hardest part is having them in my car while I take the ride home. I have been known to order an extra Taco for the carrying charge.

To note the good review below, I have had decent green chili stew here, but that doesn't excuse what I had today. Little bits of green chili and ground beef that were barely there and tasteless potatoes. The only thing of substance were large chunks of carrots that were obviously thrown in to try and give the 'stew' some body. Say your out of something before you charge an already inflated price for non food garbage.

I stopped at El Parasol in Pojoaque for a quick lunch. I ordered 4 tacos. They were the best tacos I've ever had! Very generous in size and wonderfully delicious! I can't wait to return for more!

The best place to get tacos in Northern New Mexico. Salsa is always spicy and consistent. They have chicharones and chile chips that are a must try too!

El Parasol offers the best tacos, the way Grandma would make them, filled and fried! You get your choice of red or green salsa, the red is HOT! I also got a bean and cheese burrito with green chile, so good!

Had the green chicken tamale, the cheese enchilada with green chili, and the green chili stew. All were excellent. If from out of state like me, this place seems to be a great place to sample all the green chili New Mexican offerings.

Not all El Parasol's are the same. They have different hours and different menu items. At this location, I had the Deluxe tostada, which is my fav. The arroz con pollo soup has chile in it at this location but not at the one near the Relief Route in SF. The tamale at this location was swimming in HOT red chile. Couldn't do my stomach dirty like that at 8pm, so ate it the next day. My advice is get to know your Parasol and stick with it. If you try a different one, don't assume it's the same as your fav.

Thursday. March 5, 2026. Late lunch. Stopped at this location with a co-worker on the advice of a workout buddy. Even at 2 pm, this location was busy. We parked on the side of the building and walked in. They have a pretty large menu, see attached photograph. I ordered the ground beef enchilada with red chile for $13. They also asked for my two sides, beans, rice, posole. Decided on rice and posole. They served an ample amount of lettuce and tomatoes on the side of the enchilada. Enchilada had lots of cheese and beef. The order came out very quickly- as fast as fast food. My only criticism would be the large amount of salt they used in the rice and enchilada. It was too salty, and I like salt. Overall, an average food experience.

Food is always fresh and delicious! Got a bean, cheese, shredded beef burrito with green chili! Full menu served all day! Service is always fast, staff is friendly and the ambiance is always clean.

Went there yesterday & got chicharrone burrito, Carne guisada burrito & half dozen tamales. The burritos were good but Carne guisada was a bit dry but tasty. They need to add a bit of the stew liquid to it. Tamales were tasty but the mass is real thin so when u heat them up they fall apart so they need to work on the masa. Other than that pretty good food!

We get take out and eat in at least one a week! Very consistent and something for everyone in the family.

Never miss hitting an El Parasol on any trip to New Mexico. There are several. All good. Delicious and fast. Try the soup! And biscochitos at the holidays.

Tacos for 4 dollars each is ridiculous - & so greasy difficult to digest - & no wifi available for customers - will not go again

Not a fancy place because it doesn't need to be. Perfect spot to take a break, have a nice lunch sitting outside, and enjoy the food. Friendly staff, good food, and plenty of people waiting in line. That's all you really need to know. Stop and grab a bite.

The best "after a hard day" meal you could ask for! The sopapillas too. I miss this place a lot after moving away and humbly beg you to ship me your sopapillas! I'm 100% serious.

El Parasol is a must if you're passing through or nursing a hangover after a night at Buffalo Thunder. We were doing both. Great breakfast burrito and tacos and the red and green chile are top notch. Staff at this location can be a little rough around the edges like they hate life, but I was only there for the food. I had asked for chile on the side, no cheese and add pico to my burrito and when I picked it up the older gal gave me a very audible sigh with a "what a ridiculously complicated order." And regardless of whether or not we pickup, I always leave a good tip for my overly complicated orders. Good thing I didn't ask for double bacon!

This place is a hole in the wall gem It's out in the middle of nowhere, right off the highway, but there's always people eating in there and one thing my abuelita always told me is hijo always eat at the places the locals eat at!! Can't go wrong with the chicken and beef taco plate. Can't decide between red and green sauce??? Get both! Get the rice and posole as a side. Stuff your face, give gracias to your abuelita!

Fun little place to stop in Pojaque. They serve really delicious Mexican food in a very relaxed atmosphere. I have enjoyed a number of their tacos and burritos. I especially like the chicharones. Salty, crispy, and just delicious. However, not heart friendly... On a pleasant day, their outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy a quick lunch!

The other El Parasol locations are better. This one is a consistent disappointment. They frequently get orders wrong, leave out items on to-go orders (so you don't find out til you get home!), handheld burritos are often spewing out their guts and all soggy and messy to eat. Most employees are nice, but the owner/manager is a real jerk - he's very unfriendly and ungrateful to his regular customers, myself included. I used to eat there all the time and you'd think the owner would be more grateful to loyal customers. But nope. He even made a big stink one time when we asked for an extra salsa.. because we'd already paid. So he wanted to charge us $.25 for it on a whole separate transaction.

El parasol is pretty yummy for a quick bite. I always loved the chicken tacos with guac, but I recently became vegetarian and find the veggie tacos a bit lacking in comparison. The edges were tasty, but the potatoes and broccoli in the center weren't super flavorful. I would recommend the huevos rancheros or bean burrito instead for people looking for non-meat options.

What more could you want in the odd space between Santa Fe, Espanola, and Los Alamos. El Parasol is a fantastic place to get a quick bite to eat, consistently good, and has great service. I love all of the food here and have never once gone wrong.

This is a great little Mexican restaurant! Staff were friendly, food came out quick and was hot. The food was delicious. The portion vs. the price isn't the best, but the taste was good.

It has been a favorite for 17 years. Great prices and big servings. And quick. Try the huevos machaca red or green chile. But everything is good. And the best bizcochitos around.

The food was the best, I was staying at the Buffalo thunder and came down to eat here a whole lot. Everything on their menu is amazing and the staff is very friendly.

Amazing, walked in on the way to the caldera, hoping for a good quick bite, and it did exactly that, i ordered and less than 5 minutes laters here's my food in front of me. It was really good, i ate so fast I couldn't get a picture. I got a shredded beef burrito. Whole place is nice and sunny and peaceful with music and a little fountain. Over all 10/10

The food here was amazing. Funny story, got pulled over and a police officer recommended this lovely place. We got the huevos rancheros. Plus the state cookies, biscochitos are delish. A very sweet stop!

STOP HERE! Helps to break up that horrible portion of a drive between Santa Fe and the Northern parts of NM. The Chicharron Burrito is FANTASTIC! It comes with perfectly sized & cooked Chiche's as well as wonderfully cooked beans and chilli. Another thing you can't go wrong with are the tacos. They have quite the variety, and I bet you won't be disappointed with any of them. The breakfast burrito's are my least favorite item here, and they are not bad. They just aren't anything special either. We stop here every time we pass by, and then again on the way back! That should tell you somethin!

My friend just said he wanted to marry his frito pie. It did look pretty sexy. Yum! My chile relleno burrito was so delicious. I polished that off in no short order. Most of the group we were with ordered tacos. All gave rave reviews. The restaurant is casual. There's indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly. Prices were reasonable. I hope to return soon.

The food is always great here, just a bit high priced to make it a regular stop. The carne guisada burrito is great, the chicken tacos with guacamole are great, the burgers are great, chilaquiles are amazing.

Wow super great New Mexican style fast food. The prices were very reasonable and the food was so good. I had a chicken tamale with green sauce and pork tamales with red sauce. It was so good definitely one of the best tamales I have had. My daughter had the chili bean. And cheese burrito served Christmas style and it was huge and tasty. I highly recommend this place for a quick bite to eat!

The staff is great. The food is overpriced no sense. Don't waste your money. Go to a real restaurant. Price is ridiculous

I'm not sure about other locations, but this location in Pojoaque has the rudest customer service. Every single women that answers the phone is a rude bitch! Makes you to not want to order food from here. I know I'm not the only customer who has experienced this either. What a shame knowing that US locals supported throughout Covid then in return get talked to you like crap, the hung up on!? You would NEVER be treated like this at Sopapilla Factory, the food is better always consistent and not over priced. Unfortunately slim pickings in Pojoaque. Hopefully the Old DQ will give us locals another place to go instead here.

Great simple food. Good flavors and large portions. Wish they were open later but I just need to get around earlier. I'm from out of town and always try to go here at least once when I'm in the area.

Good food and friendly service. Was a little disappointed there wasn't any seating. A small bag of free chips would be nice, but that's wasn't a deal breaker. We bought a bag of homemade tortilla chips and a side of salsa and had plenty left over. I will say it was all very spicy for my Gringo palette I added sour cream and smoothed it out. We had a vegetarian quesadilla but the cheese wasn't melted. We also had a frito pie that was good. The smothered shredded beef burrito was also tasty but again too spicy for my taste. Takeout food is never very appetizing to me, the foam container turns me off. I'm a real plate and silverware person when I'm eating out. So one star off for no dine in option.

My chicharron burrito tasted like my grandma had made it for me. What a wonderful meal. I went with a group of 18 folks and everyone was happy with their food. It is a very casual and comfortable place.

When I tell you to pull off a highway, you should always believe me. I don't put breaks in my road trips for anything less than 5-star deliciousness. This little local treasure makes the best tacos north of Santa Fe. You order them individually (with guac if you're smart) and you stuff them in your face faster than they can fry the shells. Ya'll. The chicken ones, though. Also salsa. Always salsa.

They need to update their hours on their website. Not open. Sunday morning, waited to get a burrito there and itsnot open. Growl. We were going to Jemez Springs. Had to reroute to dind anything not horrid chain in Española. Not happy.

Must stop when traveling through! Great tacos! Had chicken and beef of course with guacamole. They have a range of Mexican style food I can't wait to try more! Crunchy style tacos fried shells reminds me something similar to Pericos in Albuquerque. Very good!

We just had an amazing breakfast! The breakfast burritos, carne adovada, and Spanish omelet were all great. We can't wait for the next time we're in town and can try lunch/dinner items.

Nice place for quick tacos and burritos. We stopped in to get breakfast burritos. While they tasted fine, there were a lot of potatoes in them. I prefer when the potatoes are just a bit crispy. The potatoes seemed to be the same consistency as the egg. If we are in the area again, we will might try them for dinner instead

When I approached the counter I was greeted by a young man in a back tee to place my order, when I asked for 5 chicken tacos for my wife and I he said it would be a 30-40 min. wait because someone placed a 70 taco order and they were filling it. I asked when they are coming for the tacos and he responded by saying in half and hour. Hmmm? I asked if he could just place 5 of the ordered tacos in a bag and keep working through the large order instead of turning patrons away as I saw others walking out upset upon hearing the news, he responds by telling me there are people in the restaurant waiting for 40 mins already.???? is this the way to run a establishment? these people need intelligent guidance from someone. OMG lets turn everyone away till we fill a order!!!! laughable only in Pojoaque!

As always, fantastic! Best NM food at reasonable prices ! Authentic New Mexican food ! Definitely try Jose's place !

This is the poorest quality product of all of the Parasol locations. Nowhere close to as good as the other Santa Fe locations, and FAR below the quality of the Española location. Better off skipping this one and going all the way into Española.

Hours are wrong, as I am writing this it is 4pm, hours stated on Yelp are 5pm? Thank you for wasting mine and my family's time. We were all counting on stopping here for a bite! It's a tradition that we stop every-time we come up north. Also the other location stated they were open till 3 and we drove by and we're still open? Very confusing...

We liked it, good tacos def go for the steak one we tried them all steak reined king -- churros hit the spot after 6 hours on the road!

Perfect straight-to-the-heart Mexican food. I had two veggie tostadas. They were the most perfectly flavor and crunch balanced Tostadas I have ever had. They also make their own hot sauce and it is my favorite hot sauce on the planet. I hope they consider to bottle and sell it.

The chilaquiles were not good ...not authentic , but some sort of a convenience store abomination .. don't order this , instead order steak tacos ..they do these well

This is what the order was... 3 veggie tacos and one beef taco and one chicken taco! I YOU ARE A VEGETARIAN GO AND ENJOY THOSE TACOS!!! The beef and chicken tacos where delicious as well I was told! A nice clean place with sweet people working at the little place

Most delicious veggie taco I ever thought would totally gross me out and instead got me addicted. Broccoli cauliflower potato and carrots.... On a taco? Ruflippinkiddinme? But it's Oh. So. Good. Good beans, good burritos, good tacos al alicia too, hubby says. My hubby and I enjoyed El Parasol so much going to Colorado yesterday, we stopped back in today on the way home. That's good. And affordable. And relatively fast. And we come back now almost every week.

This place probably has the best tacos I've ever had. Pericos was always my go to in Albuquerque but this place beats them. I has the shredded beef with guacamole which they didn't charge extra for the guacamole! Plus I had the veggie taco with guacamole. Never had a better taco! The veggie taco sounds weird but it was amazing. I was so surprised. It's a must try! Absolutely delicious! I will come back and try other stuff on the menu. The wait was maybe 5 min not bad at all. I saw the chilaquiles someone else ordered and they look exquisite! Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area!!!

El Parasol has to be the best takeout New Mexican food around the state! My suggested items are the chicharron burritos, the chicken tacos actually just about anything on the menu is a great choice. I always recommended that people traveling threw northern New Mexico stop by here for a great fast meal.
