This is a very interesting and well laid out museum. It’s not very big, maybe 30-45 min to wander the two large rooms, but it has just enough detail to be interesting. Great overview of area history from archeological sites in TX, NM, and AZ. Outside the building is a great botanical garden with local plants, well labeled. Free to wander around but why not make a small (or large) donation to help support such a great place? Worth a trip if you’re in or coming through El Paso.

This was a really awesome museum. We loved all the exhibits and information. I loved the walking trail with the plants all labeled so we know what we are looking at. Highly recommend! You won't be disappointed!

It always very education to be at this place, it’s great to know about the rich cultural history of the area. And always great merchandise at the gift shop. The outside area has an amazing view to the mountains

It's a wonderful museum with artifacts, pictures, and dioramas of prehistoric settlement of the region. They have a fantastic collection of pottery and beadwork on display. Don't miss the collection drawers of beadwork, moccasins, and stone work. Admission is free, but they accept donations to support operations. There is also a lovely desert garden with walking paths and interpretive signs. The parking lot is a little small for trailers and RVs, but you can park in the Border Patrol Museum next door and walk over using the nature trail.

Went to the pavilion outside for ghost stories that started at 7:30 pm. The museum was closed. Had a great time learning about paranormal activities that happened in El Paso’s past. It was hosted by: Lost El Paso Paranormal Community.

Small museum but tells its story well. One room has dioramas, good for kids. The other room has more detailed information about cultural transitions in the greater El Paso area. Relates this area to the greater Southwest. We especially liked the extensive information about Indian pottery. First rate. Outdoor plant exhibit good, but probably seasonal. Nice short walk through the plantings. Good quality restrooms.
