Very nice restaurant and rooftop. The menu has a little bit of everything, from mexican to pasta to burgers and salads. The Gazpacho soup was excellent, followed by a Reuben sandwich with amazing fresh french fries. We also ordered the Margaritas, wich were elegantly presented. The service was polite and fast. The background music was 70's and 80's, not too loud so we still enjoyed a conversation. Loved this rooftop!

I really like this place. Great food, salsa, service and views from the rooftop

I had lunch there with a group of local friends. The service was excellent. They made me feel so welcome, and were extremely kind! I had the chiles en nagoda for the first time, and it was absolutely delicious. They give you the option of having it served room temperature (standard) or warm. The iced tea was also excellent. Overall a great experience!

Google
I can speak only of the ground floor restaurant here but if the bar and rooftop restaurant are as good they are definitely worth visiting. The restaurant is on a lively, traffic wise, corner a few blocks from El Jardin. The dining room is small with large windows looking out onto the streets and sidewalks. The service here was excellent and the lunchtime food very good and well priced. The tortilla soup and beet and lentil salad and ceviche salad made for a perfect lunch. See if you can spy the spires of the Parroquia from your seat and note the interesting art work for sale on the walls.

Google
The place is essentially two restaurants in one but with the same menu. We initially ate downstairs but had to close out before going to the terrace. It wasn't a problem but it was interesting. The food was good--above average chilaquiles. Coffee was only okay. Service was fine. Mimosas were fine. The views up the hill make this place worth the visit. It also wasn't very busy on a Saturday morning so it was nice to get a good table and quick service.

I recently dined at El Pegaso in the heart of San Miguel de Allende, and it was an absolute delight. The restaurant's central location makes it a convenient choice for visitors exploring the city. I ordered three tacos, and I must say they were outstanding. The Mahi Mahi fish taco was a true standout, offering a delightful blend of flavors and perfectly cooked fish. The shrimp and cheese taco was a unique combination that worked surprisingly well, and the beef taco was savory and satisfying. The atmosphere at El Pegaso is lovely, and the restaurant maintains a high level of cleanliness. The staff is not only attentive but also bilingual, which is a plus for international visitors like me. Their friendliness and helpfulness added to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, El Pegaso is a restaurant I would wholeheartedly recommend. I had a fantastic dining experience, and I'll definitely be coming back to savor more of their delicious tacos in the future. It's a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a tasty meal in a welcoming environment in San Miguel de Allende.

Google
Delicious food and great professionalism. The place didn’t accept reservations but we dropped by in the afternoon on December 31st, promised to return at 7:30 pm for dinner to get a table for 8, and the staff helped us and seated us with only a 10 min wait on the busiest evening of the year. Food was great(I had the best mahi-mahi I’ve had) and we were able to to order a la carte. Highly recommend l d it.

We came a little before sunset and they were quick to sit us and find a space for us on the terrace. The atmosphere was immediatly welcoming and being at the terrace added a nice vacation and relaxing feeling. Around that same time they were pulling the overhead sun covers to reveal the view of the churches around. It was beautiful. Our server was Fernando I believe, and he was playful bilingual middle-aged man with quite a bit of energy; he gave his enthusiastic recommendation for drinks but when asked about the price he just said “don’t worry about the price!” Which was just hilarious. After that they brought a nice chips and salsa appetizer and took our oders. The food did not come fast, but it didn’t take unconventionally long either. If you are hungry and want food right this second, this may not be the best place (though it’s good they give you chips in the meantime). When I asked my table of 4 to each rate the dish they got they said 3.5, 4, and 4.5. I gave my own a 4 just because the salad was overdressed, but overall it was a tasty plate. We also ordered some of their signature deserts (pecan pie and lemon pie) which were surprisingly good. The pecan pie had a sweet yet homie taste baked to ideal while the lemon pie was rich and well balanced. Overall we left feeling like we had a good meal and that we had a good time. This is an international-class restaurant; perhaps because it attracts mostly international and older visitors (from what I’ve seen). This was my second time in hseveral years to this restaurant and I keep the same opinion of it: I recommend.

Yelp
Our lovely evening at El Pegaso was prompted by Pascal our favorite San Miguel De Allende tour/troubadour. He recommended this super fine place and we checked for best times to ensure a rooftop table/so far we were lucky twice-at 5:30 pm and 7 pm. Both times we were graciously greeted downstairs where the atmosphere is very casual and warm. I speak very little Habla Espanol so it's a very visitor friendly place. We were introduced to the owner on our second visit. He made us feel welcomed. The Chili Nogada dish was highly recommended and worthy of the buildup! Great cream sauce with nuts and pomegranate seeds over a tender sweet poblano chili. We also have had their scallop ceviche with lots of tiny tender scallops in tomato lime sauce with avocados-very fresh and tasty. My husband had a Reuben sandwich which he enjoyed and thought their sandwich sauce was outstanding as were the house fries. The guacamole is chunky and perfectly seasoned. The onion rings were crispy and perfect. The mahi-mahi looks like a perfect meal for someone wanting a great clean protein meal that also tastes great! Fernando and Miguel make great Margaritas and Tequila Sunrises! They are both very hospitable and seem to anticipate our every need. We will see you there tomorrow night...if we are all lucky enough to get in!! Bon Appetit!

Yelp
It has a great atmosphere with a cool bar and great rooftop, but the food is geared toward tourists and is just okay. While it's a great location and the service is friendly, it just needs a better menu.

Yelp
Great food. Very accommodating for our demanding party of six. I had margaritas (very good) and one of the house specialties, pasta with tomatoes and basil.

Yelp
I had a delicious Filet of Beef Steak dinner for $20 U.S.!! I would definitely order it again on my next visit, too. Delicious and perfectly prepared to my order of medium-rare, and accompanied by Steak Fries and Broccoli with Lemon. Others in our party of 8 ordered the Steak Tips, which was the same meat but made in a fajita-style preparation, with rice and vegetables, too. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we would like to return to this lovely roof-top restaurant, El Pegaso (Pegasus is their logo). Drinks were excellent and so reasonable, too.

Yelp
Food is not good, meats tasted bad and sauces were poorly made - we ordered octopus a la Diabla and got chewy octopus on ketchup

Yelp
Rooftop seating! Arnold Palmer to drink, grilled artichokes, shrimp & cheese tacos! Lunch with good friends, great views, friendly wait staff! Such a relaxing restaurant and no rush to get anywhere. This is the life! Artichoke was grilled to perfection, but I would request mayo over the butter they actually serve with it. The shrimp & cheese tacos were pretty fabulous. Sipped on an Arnold Palmer which was quite tasty! I would definitely return to this place!

Yelp
Best casual restaurant in San Miguel Don't miss the Chili Nogada Delicious shrimp dishes

Yelp
Friends traveled together and we bar hopped. We went to rooftop, had margaritas, chips, salsa, guacamole and octopus apps. We saw they were gay friendly and wanted to support them.
google avatar

Yelp
Passing by and saw their colorful bar, which reminded me of a place in Houston Texas called La Diabla retro bar. Walked up was immediately greeted. sat down at the bar area and was greeted once more by Jesse. AMAZING service from Jesse. We asked for some recommendations on some Mezcal. Great recommendations, great ambience, great service. Will definitely come here again, and again, and again. Try it you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
The cream cheese brownies are to die for! I used to eat here every night when I would go to San Miguel on vacation and never had a bad meal
google avatar

Jan J.

Yelp
Great friendly service. Delicious artichoke! Fish tacos were also delicious. Prices are fair and more affordable than many in the Centro. I'm going back to try the Chili en Nogada.

Yelp
First day in San Miguel de Allende we stumbled upon this place. Wow! What a view from the terrace and what amazing service. I was blown away by how nice and helpful the servers were. I wanted a drink with rum and they made me a drink that was not on the menu and was one of the best drinks I have ever had. Not only did it taste great it looked instagram worthy. I ordered the enchiladas. They were one of the best I have had. Everything on that plate was mouth watering. We also had queso fundido, wow!! So good! I wish we could have eaten here before we left. I can't wait to go back and have some yummy enchiladas.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food and drinks (I'm picky), reasonably priced, lovely outside dining, great service, conveniently located. What else do you need? Our waiter Fernando especially was a gem.
google avatar

Yelp
Scallop Ceviche is outstanding! So we're the Marlon Sopes was a lovely surprise! Ordered again when we came back! Coconut cake was delicious! Tamarind Margarita is a must try! Great Service!

Yelp
Man o man. If you ever find yourself in this charming little town (Dab Miguel se Allende) you must take the time to go to El Pegaso. This quaint little restaurant has a menu packed with amazing selections and anything you try is sure to satisfy. My boyfriend and I shared the sopa azteca and the chiles en nogado. The soup was out of this world, but the chiles really hit the ball out of the park. They were stuffed with perfectly seasoned meat and raisins and covered in a white sauce with a few pomegranate seeds on top. I had never tried anything as delicious as those chiles in my life and I hope I have a chance to go back to San Miguel just to eat at this wonderful spot.

Yelp
I have no words that could possibly describe the amazing food we experienced at pegaso, but i will try. We ordered tortilla soup, nogada beef stuffed peppers, refried beans, rice, and aperol spritz's. The tortilla soup was packed with flavor; nothing was really missing at all..even though we added some picante, it would have been fine without as well. The beans were simple and delicious, but when you add them to chips, salsa, and pico, it becomes a tower of flavor. The highlight of the meal was by and far the nogada peppers. Cooked with some raisins, a bit spicy, and topped with a creamy sauce, we were without words when we took our first bites. Asked for some extra picante sauce, they brought out some homemade salsa made with 2 peppers & onions, which added both kick and a whole new dimension to this already amazing dish. We finished our meal with the aperol spritz. Perfect for a sunburnt canadian in mexico. If we could have, we would have returned for seconds.

Yelp
This was a fabulous find, a cozy Mexican restaurant with decor representing the Mexican culture. The dishes are great and definitely made on the property. We came here for breakfast and had a seat at the window watching the locals & tourists going about their daily business. The breakfast was spot on, we ordered the Mexican fare and every last bite was delicious. The coffee was also very very good. I loved that it was slightly away from the Parrochia allowing for slightly cheaper prices. It has a very casual atmosphere with a mixture of locals and tourists like me. We were heading out to explore outside the town and this breakfast sustained us for the day. As usual with everywhere in this town the service was fantastic. The offer breakfast lunch & dinner go do not miss. You will love it.

Yelp
Recommended by an expat local as a "sweet" place, I was not sure what to expect. The food was exactly what you would expect to taste when you ask, "Where can I have the best Mexican food?" Don't order too much as the servings are plentiful! The free chips and salsas...so tasty! Guacamole was the best ever! I can't believe I just said that! Then the main event...delish Marlin Taco that didn't even taste like fish, the flavorful Beef/Chicken Fajitas, and tasty Chicken Enchiladas! Now the service...couldn't complain about the brother team who could not be more attentive! Fernando, thank you for the birthday brownie! To finish off, sunset on the rooftop with the view of Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel! Do not miss for a best tasting, bang-for-your-buck meal!

Yelp
Was recommended by a few people we met. Fantastic for breakfast. Eggs benedict on sopes was amazing. We sat inside which was fine but there is a rooftop which a lot of people love too. Service very friendly.

Darryl T.

Yelp
Food is good, friendly service and very clean inside . I have chicken soup and nachos with cheese and ground beef , and it's yummy

Jerry J.

Yelp
Another fabulous San Miguel restaurant. Sat at the rooftop bar and had grilled salmon, steamed veggies, rice and three drinks for $25 US. And, of course, a view! There are so many great places to eat in town but I'll definitely be coming here again.

Yelp
Just a few blocks from the Jardin, this great little restaurant is very popular with Expats, many go there regularly. I had a Mexican speciality, Chiles en Nogada. Usually you can only find this around September when they have their national independence day. But El Pegaso serves it all the time. It is scrumptious! Their margaritas are also very good. Definitely a wonderful place for lunch or supper!
google avatar

Yelp
This is like the Cheesecake Factory of SMDA - a huge menu with all sorts of foods & desserts to choose from. They even offer a few Chinese dishes! My son loves the crab cream cheese wontons & my dad's fried rice was quite good. Steer clear of the kung pao chicken, though - WAY too much cloyingly sweet sauce with just a tiny scoop of rice. There are lots of salads & sandwiches if you're looking for something lite. My daughter raved so much about her chicken tostada, I ordered one the next time we came. It was just fine. Another diner highly recommended their soups. The Azteca soup was fine, but tasted more like American tomato soup than a true tortilla soup to me. The reason I'm giving 4 stars even though I didn't have anything super tasty either time we visited is for the fun variety of food choices & the top patio with great views of the city.
google avatar

Livi K.

Yelp
Great breakfast! This is a cute little place that my friends said has great coffee. I just ordered 2 eggs & it came with an English muffin, potatos, & corn tortillas. It was delicious & a great value. The service was quick
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
Wow! The vibes were popping on the rooftop. I recommend the Mojito and chicken enchiladas....yum. You're in for a treat!
google avatar

Scott L.

Yelp
It's a great place if you want a quick meal to fuel up before continuing your exploration of the city. Menu is diverse (burgers, sandwiches, soups, dessert, Asian dishes?) so you can always find something. Not fine dining or food to write home about but during our week stay in SMA, went here twice and both times food and service were solid.
google avatar

Edward H.

Yelp
One of my go-to places in San Miguel de Allende. Very pleasant venue, pleasant service, spectacular roof venue with marvelous views. Perfect cuisine service.
google avatar

Tina O.

Yelp
I just love this place I come to San Miguel once or twice a year and always like to eat here it's casual the food is excellent the waiters are wonderful and it's right in the center of town. It also is an easy place to eat alone if you happen to be in that situation they have a sweet little room right in the front. The other night I had an arrencherra steak that was so tender you could cut it with a fork. They have a full bar a pretty extensive menu and again the service is excellent which isn't true of every restaurant in town. Highly recommended for any meal of the day.
google avatar

Teofila R.

Yelp
They are closed!,,, they need to include their hours!with all fairness it was Holy Week.

Yelp
Perfection. We had a wonderful evening here. The staff and the food was great!! We ate on the rooftop terrace with the view of the parroquia. Such a special evening. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This restaurant offers the seat with great view. Really love it!! Highly recommend to check it out!

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch after a long hike in El Charco Del Ingenio. Rooftop seating area is simple but very nice. We shared the seafood salad. It was awesome! Calamari, scallops a plenty of large shrImp. Washed down with Negra Modelo. Service was very attentive and friendly. This is a nice little oasis in a very busy part of town. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
Wonderful little restaurant, very friendly. They speak Spanish and English. Tasty menu and good beer, reasonable prices. Try the local beer, either Claro ou Oscura or try the Victoria beer. We had the Gaspacho and Chicken enchiladas and the Chiles Nogado and Marlin tacos. All delicious.
google avatar

Gerardo M.

Yelp
Food was excellent. I had the arrachera and highly recommend it. Finished off with desserts made in house, brownie, creme brulee, flan and mango cheesecake... So good. Terraza was a nice way to enjoy an evening dinner. Wait staff, Fernando especially, were awesome. Like they could read your mind..
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Incredible food and service. The rooftop is the place to be but ask for Fernando to wait on you. Probably one of the best margaritas in town. The fillet of beef excellent also the salmon. They make an unbelievable tortilla soup as well. The prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere great. Beautiful view of the Perroquia and on a clear night see a beautiful sunset and a sky full of stars. Been in San Miguel 3 days and have eaten there twice. Even met some native Californians and took them.
google avatar

Dorothy M.

Yelp
Food was fantastic, service was excellent and prices are low. All around a great experience.
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
Just OK food, but many better options in San Miguel. This a pretty much a Gringo restaurant
google avatar

Eddie R.

Yelp
Out of the rooftop restaurants in SMA, this one was one of the best. It's definitely a little more economical than the other two, and the service was pretty friendly. We ordered the fajitas and the cheese enchiladas, but what really stole the show was the salsa and the butter. Yes, the butter is made in house and is amazing. They should be cooking everything in that cilantro infused butter.
google avatar

Brian J.

Yelp
So yummy and the rooftop is the place to eat. We had tapas and margaritas. It was all so incredibly yummy and very inexpensive. The nachos with chicken, fish tacos, calamari and sopas were so so good! Do not miss this place. Plan on enjoying a few hours up on the roof ,it's so cool.
google avatar

Jstinto T.

Yelp
Excellent food and stunning view from rooftop patio. Very good service as well. Would highly recommend.
google avatar

Samantha L.

Yelp
Great spot for lunch!! Sit on the terrace upstairs and order a margarita- it was one of the best I had in San Miguel!!
google avatar

Jo G.

Yelp
Always love El Pegaso! Good for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I feel comfortable eating here alone sometimes. GREAT chili Nogado, tortilla soup. They offer some very basic "american" or Asian choices which are sometimes a nice change. Good sunset views up top (be careful on the narrow stairs--do hold on especially after a cocktail). Desserts in the case always look so good but we are always too full to try them! Love their potent margarita and their staff is always very professional. The bread is blah, but the flavored butter is delish--such a quandry for me. This restaurant is a favorite of ours--has been for years.
google avatar

Bryce p.

Yelp
Great food and excellent service! I had the chicken enchiladas which were amazing! The roof top is really amazing!
google avatar

Larry H.

Yelp
This was a stop on the food tour. We were served the chile en nogada. DELICIOUS!! The bread was just ok. The service was fine. The atmosphere is fun. They have TONS of DOD tchotchkes for sale on the walls. Would easily recommend a meal here.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch after a day in the market. The food was great and well priced. The service was nice too.
google avatar

Clémentine C.

Yelp
The place had been recommended by our cab driver and we were not disappointed. Service is really nice and meals are tasteful, especially the chicken fajitas which I really enjoyed. Apparently, desserts are their speciality so I recommend you keep some space for something sweet (all options are displayed in a large window so it's easy to pick!)

Nancy R.

Yelp
Sat on their upstairs deck and enjoyed the view of the city while eating some really good mahi mahi tacos. Engaged and entertaining wait staff. Tried to go back a second time during our stay but it was closed that day.
google avatar

Efren D.

Yelp
Well I thought it was going to be good, but the waiter got my order wrong. Brand me the same thing what my girlfriend ordered. He blamed me by saying I ordered the same but didn't. They corrected my order but basically took the chicken and egg off the first dish and placed on the second dish. I ordered chilaquiles. Bad service overall. Would not recommend.

Joe C.

Yelp
Went due to a recommendation from some folks we met at breakfast. Found the food unremarkable.
