We didn’t want to leave! Eben & the entire El Pescador family were so welcoming from the moment we landed in San Pedro. We were immediately greeted with open arms and whisked away to an awesome adventure! The accommodations are top notch, the food is to die for, and the fishing and excursions are phenomenal! This place does not disappoint. The entire facility is clean and very well kept. The lodge family is there for you every minute. Our fishing guide Cesar is the best! We caught different species on the fly. He knows these waters like the back of his hand and is an expert boat handler and an excellent teacher. As a fly angler I really enjoyed his passion and patience. My wife snorkeled, went on a catamaran excursion, and had a massage. We spent the day in San Pedro shopping, chilled at the bar, swam in the pool, enjoyed reading under the palm trees, and soaked in the island life. We will return. To Eben and the entire El Pescador family…thank you for making our experience so memorable!

There are not enough good things to say about El Pescador. We went for a fishing trip through Orvis. My wife doesn’t fish, I do, but we both had an incredible time. As a fishing destination it’s incredible. The guides are wonderful, the fly shop is well stocked and it’s perfectly situated as a premier fishing destination. You’ll catch fish!||As a resort, it’s just as good. My wife loved sitting by the beach, reading, hanging by the pool, had a great message and enjoyed all the other resort amenities. The food is delicious, freshly cooked and family style each night. And the rooms are quaint, comfy and with great amenities. ||The best part of El Pescador is the staff who makes you feel like family by the time you leave. To mention a few: Julio, Michelle, Justin, Dunia, Mariana, Rena, Jam, Hector, Henry among others. They’re all truly spectacular and made our stay that much more enjoyable. Highly recommend this lodge.

Great Experience. This is an excellent fly fishing lodge. Our guide was helpful and had us on fish every day. First time for permit and tarpon and was lucky enough to get 2 Grand Slams. |Staff is great |Will come back.|Would practice double haul as it is needed with wind

Chemistry---|I have been fortunate to travel to many destinations, fishing, lodges and resorts. It is not the "stars" or the "brands" it is the chemistry and caring of the staff that they can create within a facility that make your stay in remote places memorable. No where have I experienced this better than El Pescador. I brought my son, who is a novice fly fisherman for our first -of what will likely be many-visits. The staff and guides were wonderful to him and the resort can provide experiences for guests of all levels of angling experience. |Unlike many fishing destinations-there is plenty to do here on the island for the non-angler or spouse. Snorkeling is world class, local "vibes" in town are nearby and memorable. The resort pools and other amenities are top notch. |Go.

We went to El Pescador for an Orvis fly fishing trip. Some of us fished and had an incredible time on the water. The guides were top notch! The rest of us did other excursions around the island like snorkeling, swimming with sharks, massages, etc. ||The lodge had delicious food and the entire staff were so welcoming, helpful, and friendly. It truly is one big family at the lodge. ||We would definitely come and stay again!

Simply awesome lodge. Great staff, comfortable room, good bed with lots of pillows, excellent food, great fishing guide...I could go on. They really catered to my shellfish allergies..always preparing substitutions when needed. Fishing was good but you did have to work hard to fool some species. Boat trips to spots can be long.

We came in June and experienced miserable weather. Even so, in three days of fishing our boat landed many bones, one tarpon (small) and one permit. I’m definitely coming back when conditions are better. |Bring 16 lb tippet and good leaders. I brought a 10 wt for tarpon, a 7 for bones, and an 8 for permit. In review, I’d keep the 7 at home because the winds were CRAZY! In better conditions the 7 or even a 6 wt would be perfect, assuming that you can shoot 70 feet of line in 15 mph winds.
