Loved the stay in this hostel. Filipe is a great guy and very helpful with arranging things. The breakfast was good, you can take what you want. The pool was very nice and clean. Great garden in the sun all day. Lovely place to hang out with a good ambiance. Some folks came over to play music and it lasted till 6 AM. I booked one night and eventually stayed three nights.

The interior is antique and a bit worn down. This could give the place a lot of charme. However, it is dirty and full of moscitos. Spidernets on the ceiling and bloody dead moscitos on the walls. The staff is helpful and nice. They care a lot about good music and nice atmosphere in the hostel and like to chill out with visitors. However, they should probably spend more time in the basics of running a hostel and keep the place tidy and clean. Not even the low price gives an excuse for not keeping the place clean. We felt much better after moving to a less charming equally cheap but clean place.

Super cool and neat, best hostel in my life. The place is apparently recent and was decorated with much simplicity and taste. Hygiene is overall very good. The definite great point is that there is a cute backyard with a pool to rest and refresh. The young owners are cute and sympathic, you can also play with their dog, who is very much willing to catch the ball pretty much all the time. A must.

If you are going to Areco with your family looking for some tranquility this is not the hotel to stay in. Out of five stars i took 2 off because the swimming pool is not fully surrounded by a fence -not kids friendly- and I took off one more cause in our room some power outlets were not fully covered -easy to stick in kids fingers to 220 volts cables-. I could easily take an extra star off since bed side tables had a heavy marble top that was not attached to the table -kids could easily push it and drop it to their feet. I knew there was not air conditioned but the fans were very loud. Last, the hotel is located on a busy and trafficked street (noisy -cars and motorcycles) and we slept during a weekday when people don’t go out. Toilet is okay and clean, hot water is excellent. You get only toilet paper, not even soap to wash your hands....small details make the whole thing. The day was 37 Celsius (very hot) and our room was very hot. At night the temperature outside went down and was quite confortable to sleep but the room kept the same warm temperature and was not easy to cool it down (Rooms are like a little oven). I do not recommend this hostel for summer days, you will melt. The only 2 stars are because of the very friendly personnel. Internet wifi works fine. Maybe i am too demanding and hostels are not for families with small kids, I am not sure. But that is the picture. Breakfast is quite simple but okay. Toast, a cake, coffee tea and milk.

We had a lovely stay in San Antonio de Areco, it is the most adorable village! El Puesto Hostel definitely has the makings for a great hostel in high season but is a little deserted in the low. Breakfast is very basic and could be improved. The facilities were clean but there were a lot of marks on the White bedding in the dorm - I think they would be wise to upgrade their bedding to something coloured! They booked us a fantastic horse ride with the best gaucho in town! Would definitely recommend a stay here! Visit the Tourist Information booth in the main square for free bike hire!

El Puesto is a beautiful rustic hostel. It had a charming atmosphere. Nico and Santiago are both great hosts and the breakfast is great.||FYI, if you travel to San Antonio de Areco make sure you go later in the week as most shops are closed Monday and Tuesday. Thurs seems to be the recommended day to be there.

In my entire stay, I never saw a staff member (I left two days later and left some money with the cleaning lady? I hadn't even checked in...) No AC means you cannot sleep in the summer months. WiFi spotty at best. Beds are unstable-- feel as though they're going to fall apart while you're sleeping on them. The only good thing really was the outdoor area.

We had a great stay in el puesto hostel. We had a double room. Place is very relaxed, Felipe is a great host, very helpful and speaks good English. Nice garden, pool, living room, kitchen and bar area. Around 15 minute walk from the busstation.
