From a Mexican, I’d like to share that it brought back great home memories and for sure I’d like to come back ❤️ now let’s deep dive into the review:
In terms of the service:
- From the very beginning, they were open to find us a nice place even without reservation
- They were very perceptive about our different needs regarding the language and recommendations of sauces which was on spot.
- They were quite good at giving enough time and space to take the order and they didn’t hurry (not because of the kitchen or any other customers, so you feel that you can relax and eat properly)
- Because of the nice atmosphere, we were taking photos and the owner came and offer help with it.
In terms of the food:
Pros:
- they had good options for the tacos and main dishes, specially the one with mole 🥹
- the tacos or base were freshly made and with the lettuce as I had it in Mexico City 🤩 so really nice touch there 😉
Things to notice:
- there was the feeling of limited traditional desserts ( for summer could be: raspados with some flavors like diff fruit flavors ( pineapple, mango, lime) or rompope. And in winter flan or corn bread.
- for drinks, there were options but it could have more traditional drinks like horchata, jamaica, or lime is great.
In terms of atmosphere:
The lights, decoration, music was great and people’s laugh in the background gave the feeling that you were in a family gathering.
The things that was a bit unfortunate was that the second floor ( which was also nice) had an AC issue and was really hot 🥵 but we were lucky and had a table downstairs in the cool area.
Overall: the food was authentic, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was so friendly that even at the end we got to know a bit more about the story of the restaurant, the owner and even got a family like goodbye hug!!! That’s human warm even for the first time that we visited!
Again, I’d try to come if I’m in the area and maybe you too!
