El Rio Encantado

I have a group of friends that go swimming here every 2 weeks. I have never stayed overnight but the employees are fantastic. This is a little oasis in the woods. Beautiful pool, grounds and the river runs right by it.

We stayed for one night in the tree house and it’s a pity we didn’t stay longer. The place is heaven on earth, so well kept and surrounded with beautiful nature including the river, forest, mountains. The swimming pool area is amazing as well. Very kind and helpful manager.

We can’t say enough good about this place! Far enough away from Boquete to be out of the hustle and bustle and it has absolutely gorgeous grounds. Frank, the owner, is a real pleasure to visit with. Remember to take your own food as there is no restaurant on site.

I would love to say it was an amazing experience, since the grounds and architecture is beautiful and well kept, although communication and treatment was poor at best. I have traveled all over the world and have never been told you that can only reach the workers within the hours of 8am-6pm. Therefore, if one has flight or transportation delays you will not get in, even though you paid. In my case, the owner responded very rudely and annoyed since I arrive at 6:30pm. I needed help leaving the property for dinner since the key they gave me had difficulties opening the gate, he was clearly choleric.|You definitely need a car to go to this location. |One of the reasons why I decided to go to rio encantado was because in other reviews people mentioned that for a price, the bartender would make drinks or cook near the pool. That was not the case, wren I went. I was there two nights and every time they saw my family and I they walked away. The menu was on the counter of the bar, just no person was there to help us. |I have to say, the grounds are very well kept, clean and tidy. The sofa beds and pillows need some updating, since it was pretty uncomfortable. |When I went to the city, locals mentioned that there was a guy that used to work there and he was the life of the place, cooked here and there, and also prepared drinks, but he is no longer there. |Needless to say, I do not recommend this place

Booked a 2-bed cabin, a nice house. A/c, hot water, appliances, tv all worked without issue. Kitchen was well equipped. Ground coffee, sugar provided. Body wash in bathroom. BBQ with propane. Very comfortable. The best part though, is the grounds. Nice pool with spectacular and extensive landscaping. We were able to bird on site, and saw a family of 3 trogons, hummingbirds, and several other delightful species. Easy hiking also on site. No meals onsite, so be prepared to cook or eat out. Cabana bar was not open when we were there. Impression is that it is only open is guest volume is large enough. We were the only guests we were aware of

We stayed unfortunately only one night, as we were on our way to Boquete. But what a place this is. A real Bijou in the middle of the Jungle, with own Jungle, jungle trail and little river; and full of peace and calm. Very clean, well designed and maintained, wow. Thank you Frank for your hospitality and having created this piece of paradise.

Absolutely gorgeous grounds. I loved the gardens. Very well maintained. There was an outlook area. The owner was super friendly and his German Shepard dog was beautiful and well trained. The facilities were super clean and there was soap and toilet paper, which believe me is not always the case in Panama. There was a nature trail which was fun for the kids and adults alike. We didn't get in the river but it was nice to have it in the background. Very secluded and secure. The pool was a great size and we all had a lot of fun. I love that there was a community kitchen area for us to use and we could BBQ there or brig a picnic basket which is what we did. There were several chairs and Hammocks and tables. The trea house was cool to see. We had the place almost to ourselves except for a couple other people. It was nice. There wasn't anything negative the ten of us found about the place.

Beautiful place. Immerse in the green, a few steps to the river, make this place a resting paradise. The pool area along with the bar in front of the river are the best options to relax and be in contact with nature. Friendly and helpful staff. This is the place where to spend several days away from the city. The Cabins are fully equipped. Also they offer small tours around the property, and outside you can enjoy horse riding, thermal pools and nice hike. Also very close to David and boquete. Better visit if you have a car.
